OK On with the show...Prelude to a Dragon.
Beatrice trains with Celeste how to tap her mark for what it truly is, the Mark of Death. The party decides it would best to lay low and get out of Sharn for a while. Months ago, lady Elaydren d'Cannith came to Aldric with an offer, to find a lost schema. Aldric and company became involved instead with taking down a crime ring and cultists throughout Sharn and Diamond Lake and was unable to assist Elaydren in that task. Elaydren sent out another group of PC's (different gaming group that fell apart) who failed in their quest to find the schema. Finally Elaydren decides she will go for it herself.
Payback: (2nd level adventure, 9th level style)
Beatrice goes to House D'Cannith and meets with yet another cousin of Lady Elaydren,Merrix D'Cannith. He states that to repay the debt for bringing Aldric back to life that they rescue Elaydren. He also offers a counter offer as well if they can get him the schema he can provide them with something they may want. He offers Aldric his own forge in D'Cannith Foundry. Aldric can not help but to agree to these lucrative terms. Merrix states that he wants to schema because he'll put it to good use, unlike his cousin. He states that it's all politics and nothing to worry about, he is truly concerned for his missing cousin, but money is money. This schema would bring him great prestige within House D'Cannith.
Merrix tells Beatrice that to find Elaydren they will need to find someone to get them to Rose Quarry within Darguun. She is given the name of a transporter by the name of Failin. Unknown to Beatrice someone in the party already knows who he is and already has motivation to go to Darguun.
After several days of preparation the group finally sets sail on a House Lyrandar galleon. The group lands in Rhukaan Draal and begins to look for Failin. Enjoying the flea-market like atmosphere of the Bloody Market, the party enjoys looking over the various oddities for sale, including boot knives, secret blade holders, poisons, and kobold slaves. After asking around for Failin, they are pointed to a seedy dive by the name of the Clenched Fist on the border of the Bloody Market. Inside they find two well armed Bugbears, a few humans and a a half-elf barkeep. The barkeep points them towards a relics dealer and livery that goes by Failin in the corner.
After introductions and negotiations Failin agrees to bring them to Rose Quarry. Failin seems tense and nervous and keeps looking to the Bugbears across the room. The group notices but he passes it off as he's just gets nervous when goblinoids are around. He rushes the group out of the bar so he can show them he truly does have an elemental cart and where he can meet them.
