Description:
Weyrin dresses in bright silk robes or green, blue, and pink, the colors of his deity, Yuelral. He once kept several books tucked into the robe’s folds, but after his collection was destroyed, he has only his spellbook. Weyrin views violence as a last resort, and as such keeps his weapons stowed away and rarely draws them. He is slim, and short even by human standards, barely standing above five feet.
Background:
Weyrin was born to two half-elven traveling merchants who dealt mainly in books and other forms of the written word. His mother was a wizard who taught him and his sister Pelina the basics of magic, and instilled a love of learning in them both. The family traveled far and wide, and Weyrin learned many things about the world, and many things about himself. Most notably, he discovered an inborn talent for magic that seemed to be unrelated to his studies as a wizard, yet, strangely no one else in his family possessed. As he grew up, he refined and blended the two magical disciplines, eventually becoming an accomplished arcanist. He even figured out a few loopholes in the “laws” of magic, allowing him to do things no wizard or sorcerer could.
When he and his sister reached adulthood, his parents retired while he took over the family business, and his sister went to study at a wizard college. Now in charge of the book wagon, Weyrin became quite the scholar, reading and distributing books from all over. Weyrin ran the wagon well, taking special delight in bringing his books to children, hoping to foster in them the same love of learning he has. Recently, though, misfortune finally caught up to him when a group of goblins saw a perfect opportunity to both rid the world of evil writing and have a large fire. Weyrin’s only book that did not burn was his spellbook, which he always kept on his person. Disheartened at the loss, Weyrin nonetheless continued to his destination of Tamran, albeit now with the goal of starting to rebuild.
