additionally to what Maxwell is asking, I'm wondering if the wrecks are on the same shoreline as ours or are we seeing some other beach already?

Wes waits for the first two to climb up and lower the rope to make things easier. He leaves the Tien man (and Sasha? {wasn't clear if she's coming}) to go ahead, adjusts his backpack and then follows suit.

Apollyon, Create water is an orison, cantrip, 0-level, cast at will goodie :)

At Kazok's unease, Wes remarks: "We could travel along the shore, but depending on where we are, that could delay us a lot." Sliding his finger on the map shore in front of him backwards and forwards, he continues "If we scale the cliff and get high enough, perhaps we can pinpoint our location and then choose the most direct approach possible." somewhere

The druid stops for a second, looking aimlessly at the sky and then returns his gaze on the map.
"My first instinct is to visit one of these rivulets' mouths. Any sort of mooring is likely to be near a source of fresh water, so that could be our best chance to find a seaworthy vessel."

The druid sits up in a turkish pose and motionlessly collects his thoughts, before opening his eyes and standing up. He empties his water pouch thirstily and refills it with a wave of a hand and a silent murmur. Wes then takes out the map of the isle and studies it while walking around, checking where they could be. From the position of the morning sun and the way the coast is facing the sea, he surmises they are on one of the beaches facing north. Probably on the north edge somewhere, since they were sailing from the NW and no other land is visible.

Returning to the group, he announces: "We should move south. There are some paths drawn in the central part of the island, so that may be our best chance for another vessel or civilised contact."

Upon returning, the druid silently ate and drank up, then sat outside the camp to meditate. Once done, Wes gathered a bundle of long leaves to make a more comfortable bedding in the camp, where he then retired for the night.

Just noting that Wes took his rope and returned the other one too. On the way back he explains what was in the log and posits that it likely was the captain that injured the first mate.

"I haven't been on the ship for a long time. Is this Iana one of our campers? Do some of you sailors recognize her?"

The druid looks up from the log he is reading.
"A snake and a huge lobster you say? I didn't know they could climb so well. Maybe the smell of those rations attracted them." how did it manage to get into the wreck? He considers he is talking to Kazok and browses his memory, trying to remember if he knows of any other aquatic creatures that could fit the description and be less absurd than "huge lobster".
k/nature: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

But what was a snake doing there, it makes no sense!"Are you sure it was a snake that bit him? Did someone secretly have a pet viper? Arg, this is so confusing."

He continues to read the log, to see if the final entries can shed some light on things then takes the maps. "Yes, this could be very handy!" Wes checks what they depict and if it is anything immediately useful.

Seeing the ship disappear but a moment earlier, Wes is happy to see his comrades made it out. "Uff, that was close! Good refle" he notices the half-orc's wound "What happened, did you manage to impale yourself?"

The druid then kneels down on one foot besides the first mate, trying to see what happened to him.

"Oh, you too? Thought it was flake in my eye, as I didn't see anything a blink later." he scratches his chin mindfully and adds "I do hope it's not the locals!"

Wes then turns back towards the slack rope and the two sailors trying to board the ship.

Barelly being done with attaching one end to a proper anchor close enough to the surf, Wes receives another rope to tangle. This time the knotting goes more smoothly, as both ropes are of the same material and diameter. He then inspects all four(two) knots one last time and stands up.
"The rocks are jagged, but this will hold well enough. Make haste while the tide is still low."

The druid spins around, slowly checking everyone and his surroundings.

50ft doesn't get you anywhere. Wes takes out his rope and again knots it on Apollyon's to extend the total reach. He shuffles through to get to the other end and then looks for a fixed rock to solidly anchor the rope.

"I don't know the ship well enough to be useful. I'll stay behind and watch your backs. If you hear a loud whistle, evacuate the wreck immediately."

Seeing that everyone was up, Wes continues forward through the jungle without further ado. He keeps an eye out for anything interesting or out of the ordinary, but otherwise just tries to find an optimal path through the thick undergrowth. Where it is necessary, he pushes it aside or cuts it awkwardly with his shortspear, glancing back to make sure the rest of the group is en suite.

On his way there, the druid catches up with the rest and tells them they're on Smuggler's shiv, and in case anyone isn't familiar with its renomé, also the rumours.
"I didn't want to cause a panic back there and it's not clear yet we're all on the same side. I overheard the sailors complain the night before that we're sailing too close, so like the poisoning, this must've been intentional. Perhaps someone didn't want the ship to reach its destination? Or deliver someone or something to the island? I don't suspect the chained man, since if it was his doing, he'd be gone by now — remember that someone saved us first."

Wes is not a good swimmer, so he decides to climb to the wreck instead.
I don't quite get the layout - climbing up or down? If it's down, he will also attach his rope for greater safety.

After a brief contemplation: "I will join you, but this will leave the camp more vulnerable. The very least we should do is free the cuffed man. Regardless of his past, he has nowhere to go and will be more useful at full mobility."

Wes steps to the woman he gave his water pouch to and takes it back. Shaking it, he feels it is empty, so he moves away, concentrates and murmurs something. Water suddenly overflows the container and spills to the ground. After corking it, the druid returns it to the sickly woman and addresses the outgoing party.

"I found something interesting when searching the beach earlier. Remind me later, it could be important."

The druid walks towards the cliff with the group, taking wide looks around now and then, trying to take in interesting features of the landscape.

At the cliff, he touches the cooler stone and exhales loudly in relief, not really enjoying the heat in his sickened state. Hearing Kazok, he swivels on his right foot and replies: "I still have some travelling rations in my pack. They should be fine if a bit salty now. But that's nothing that could sustain us for long."

"And considering the shape most of us are in now, scaling this cliff is out of the question for today. Some..." and he looks at the elven woman then hands her his water pouch "...probably couldn't even stomach a meal. I think we should build a makeshift shelter here and continue exploring in the cooler evening."

He takes out his soaked blanket roll and tries to mount it on a few sticks. Failing and realising some things can't be hurried, he starts to gather relevant pieces of wood more systematically, leaving the blanket extended on a sunny patch of ground.

Wes is surprised by the allegations, but stays besides the woman. "Try to calm down and conserve your strength. We are neither safe nor sure what all has transpired." he says sternly and looks at the others. There may well be an arduous day in front of us, so do let us know if you have any particularly useful skills. We are stranded on a beach with limited food and water, no shelter and a looming threat."

Slightly turning toward Maxwell, the druid continues: "We should leave a more permanent mark, but I don't think it's safe to leave directions."

A few moments pass and a sad "Nevermind. Let's get off this beach!". Why would such a person use the ship in the first place?

Finding himself back at the fire, Wes proclaims to Apollyon: "Sadly, I didn't find anything else to eat on this barren beach. The stews of the past few days already sound more appealing than they were."

Oooh A sudden realisation. One of the last things Wes remembers is the chitchat he ignored while trying to eat in peace.

Looking around at the rest of the survivors, he says to Maxwell: "We came to be here in unusual circumstances, but the sun will only get stronger, so yes, our first order of business should probably be to find some shade. Let me see if I can determine where in general we are."

He looks towards the sun, estimating its height and angle, comparing the derived latitude to the small scale maps he read before joining the trip. They were on a shore, so he had all he needed.

Huh... Wes scans around in confusion. What... was the stew from a poisonous fish? Why am I dreaming of poorly dressed men!? He looks down at his body, seeing himself in detail. Maybe it isn't a dream? A pinch to the leg, slight sensation and a double slap to the cheeks to top it off made it clear. "This is here and now.". Hearing his own voice settled the matter.

Wes then blinks heavily a few times, failing to get the salt out of his eyes. After a silent sigh, he motions with his hand and just as he finishes inhaling, a cube of water materialises over his head. A moment later gravity takes over and it splashes over him. Feeling refreshed and a little cleaner, the druid scans the surroundings for anything remotely useful or dangerous.

We need a trap sensor and someone for ranged pickings is also great. I see I forgot mine - added a sling, but it won't be too effective.

Eeeh, no peace here either.
Paying little heed to what he just overheard, Wes finishes his soup and jumps off the crate he was sitting on. He then taps his belly to check for internal turmoil and content with the feeling, returns the bowl to the kitchen.

On his way there, the druid passes a jacked up sailor, covered in tattoos, yet seemingly calm and in no rush. He nods in greeting, but doesn't stop. Wes hasn't been on the ship for long, so hasn't had a chance to meet everyone yet. However, right after the meal, his will to talk is negligible, the poor food still weighing on his mind. Only complaining would come out of that.

As chance would have it, Wes was early at the mess hall. Not really eager for the food, he knew he needed nourishment. I can't just eat my rations all the time. Hmm, too bad I didn't take more berries with me...

His contemplation was cut short by a voice: "Hey, wake up! Do you want to eat or not?" The cook was looking sternly at him from across the counter. Murmur could be heard behind him. Wes extended his hands, took the bowl and roll, then moved away, ignoring the impatient travellers.

There were still plenty of empty chairs, even tables, but Wes turned and went straight for the door. By now he knew he had to see the wobbling horizon to have a chance to retain the food within him. He sat on a crate near the starboard side of the ship and fixed his gaze at the sea, eating a bit of the stew now and then.

I'd play it as a nerd, creep or any other awkward or unwanted stereotype. Or maybe have stutter, ticks, a LOUD voice or other annoyances.

I'm late with my char — only basic description is up — but I'll go post something, so you don't need to wait.

Looks fine to me.

My build is also done as far as mechanics go.
