Racial Traits:

• Type: Half-elves are humanoid creatures with both the human and the elf subtypes.
• Languages: Half-elves begin play speaking Common and Elven. Half-elves with high Intelligence scores can choose any languages they want (except secret languages, such as Druidic). See the Linguistics skill page for more information about these languages.
• Elven Immunities: Half-elves are immune to magic sleep effects and gain a +2 racial saving throw bonus against enchantment spells and effects.
• Mordant Envoy (from Mountainous Terrain): [BOG] Half-elves from mountainous regions add +1 to the caster level of any transmutation spells they cast. Spireborn with a Charisma score of 11 or higher also gain the following spell-like abilities: 1/day—comprehend languages, detect secret doors, erase, read magic. The caster level for these effects is equal to the user’s character level. This racial trait replaces the adaptability racial trait.
• Fey Magic (2 RP): The character has a mystic connection to one terrain type, selected from the ranger’s favored terrain list. The character selects three 0-level druid spells and one 1st-level druid spell. If the character has a Charisma score of 11 or higher, when in the selected terrain, she gains these spells as spell-like abilities that can be cast once per day. The caster level for these effects is equal to the user’s character level. The DC for the spell-like abilities is equal to 10 + the spell’s level + the user’s Charisma modifier. Blood Arcana:
Every time you cast a spell, you can restore a number of hit points equal to double the level of the spell you cast to one target of your choice that you can see. A creature at its maximum hit points cannot be affected by this ability. Healing a dying creature with this ability does not automatically stabilize the creature unless its hit points are brought to 0 or above.

Appearance:

Standing at 5’ 2” and weighing only 110 pounds Violet might initially appear to be little more than a shorter than average but otherwise typical faun, but on closer inspection her mystical heritage bleeds through. Slim, long limbs dense with muscle reveal an athletic build, shaped by an energetic, if not care free, lifestyle. Her dark caramel skin stands in stark contrast to the blanket of snow-white fur that blankets her lower body. This fur starts at the curve of her hips and runs down her curved legs. While she has the short, stubby tail of a faun, her legs end in silvery equine hooves opposed to her kin’s traditionally cloven hooves.

Her beauteous and rounded facial features are framed by her short and incredibly curly locks that come down approximately to the bridge of her nose. Her locks are a shimmering silver with pink highlights that start soft before ending at a vibrant shade of hot pink at her tips. She possesses the low, twitching ears of a faun, each with multiple piercings in the form of earrings before being capped near the top in a silver bar piercing on either side. Lacking the usual small stubby horns of her kin, Violet has a singular, spiraling unicorn horn that projects forward from her crown at a forty-five-degree angle approximately eight inches in length.

The short, slender faun can normally be found wearing a rather simple attire consisting of little more than a corset, vest, and skirt. A sleeveless vest covers her narrow shoulders but more often than not, hangs open. Under that a corset wrapped around her midsection gives her a more distinct curve and brings her bust up and together. Finally, she caps off her outfit with an ostentatiously short skirt.

History:

Violet’s mother was a faun who hailed from a long line of healers blessed by their close connection to Unicorns, whilst Violet’s father was an incredibly powerful court wizard that served some long-forgotten throne. With such a heritage there was no question that their daughter was destined for greatness. It is just unfortunate that Violet could not be interested in such a higher calling in the slightest. Though its true that Violet desires to improve the lives of those around her, the method by which she approaches this goal could arguably be seen as a waste of the potent blood that flows through her veins.

Violet does not seek to cure illness or bring peace to all the lands. She would rather leave such endeavors to those with the temperament for it, instead her interest is having fun and sharing the wonderful if not fleeting experience of life with all those around her. To Violet, life is a perpetual state of celebration, in which one demonstrates their gratitude for one more day on Gohlarian in the form of joyous revelry.

Ironically enough, this mentality is why she was thought an excellent envoy for the faun and satyrs who similarly spend their lives devoted to passion and the celebration of life. Who better to be their eyes and ears then the mixed blood courier? Violet may be a capable courier and messenger however that may only be resultant of her innate arcane talents and natural charm. Her job is usually secondary, the fae more often than not finding herself preoccupied with what she can do to have fun, and where she can find her next big party.
