CORE CONCEPTS:
1. Works with his twin bother exterminating evil, also as a merchant which helps to keep them fed.
2. Not a particularly good paladin of Torag, too willing to break rules if it is the right thing to do.
3. His phantom weapon came to him when he was praying, frustrated he wasn't progressing as a paladin. Now he believes he must serve Torag in his own way, his weapon serving as a guide.
4. Prone to mercy over judgement, this bothers his brother and the leaders of his clan.
5. An avid reader, he enjoys learning.
APPEARANCE
Vhalik looks like most dwarves, broad and fairly heavy set. He is well muscled and keeps his gold blond hair and beard well kept. He is not as physically adept as his brother due to his time reading instead of training, otherwise they look very similar.
GOALS:
Character Goals
1. Prove that he can serve Torag well even if he isn't a perfect knight.
2. Find a place he can call home.
Player Goals
1. Enjoy a nice game.
2. Work on my dwarf character. I rarely play them, but Grumbaki (Valghaz) is an expert dwarf.
SECRETS:
Character's Secrets
1. He is fasinated by death and undeath. It's taboo, but his connection with Kaigon and his work with his brother destroying undead has made him curious about the specifics.
2. He promised their mother that he would take care of Valghaz. He's never told Valghaz, but it is a responsibility that he takes very seriously.
Secrets Kept from Character
1. He doesn't know why his phantom weapon, Kaigon, didn't move on, what his unfinished business is.
2.
PERSONAL TIES
1. Valghaz his twin brother: They work together, complimenting each other as the move around making their way. They disagree sometimes, but are very close. They rarely let any disagreement last long.
2. Bordin Dansford a rival merchant: Bordin is a weasle faced human merchant that has crossed paths with the brothers on several occasions. Frustrated by the competition he's tried to defame the twins and ruin their good name.
3. Kaigon, his phantom weapon: Kaigon acts as a guide and mentor to Vhalek. He lost much of his memory in the transformation, but occasionally he remembers things. He is the source of Vhalek's powers.
4. Hardon Granitebeard: Hardon was Vhalek's mentor in all things mercantile. He didn't car much about Vhalek's personal beliefs, just that he was an excellent student when it can to being a merchant.
MEMORIES
1. His struggles training as a paladin of Torag: He didn't progress as well as the others being trained. He asked too many questions instead of accepting the things he was told. He struggled to believe fully that the law was just as important as good. Wasn't the law simply there to allow good to flourish? What about when the law was wrong, when tradition caused harm rather than preventing it? What about when something was the right thing morally, but wrong according to the law? Because of his doubts he never could fully commit to the things he was being taught.
2. His final conversation with his grandmother: Vhalek had been close to his grandmother. As her death approached his spent a great deal of time with her before the end. He sought her counsel on what to do about his failings as a knight, and she counceled him that he needed to do what he felt was right, regardless of what anyone else says. He held her hand as she passed. He could feel as her soul left. Since then he's felt as though she is watching over him many times.
3. His first trip away from the clan hold. Seeing the world inspired him, he loved the variety and haggeling with people was fun. Harden mostly made him do guard duty, but when he showed promise allowed him to negotiate some of the minor transactions. To Vhalek it was wonderous.
