Background: Veran is a Tiefling. He accepted that fact, a long time ago at that. Others would mock and discriminate, but his unwavering faith in Heironeus kept him going in spite of it all. Before long, he heard the call of the Paladin, and has since then been wandering the world, bringing Light to the farthest reaches. Until the fateful day where he was accused of a murder he did not commit, their only "proof" being that he had the blood of demons, in a village not far from the capital. They did not believe he was a Paladin, and sent him here. Yet, he still retains faith in his god, and still stands as a bastion of all that is Good.
