About Venture-Capt. Falnar Long-Blood

Falnar was born an only child to a human father and an elven mother in a small mountain village north of the Thanelands in the foothills of the Stonespear Mountains. What was viewed as a forbidden union resulted in Fal’s mother leaving the village when he was still just a child. Due to this ‘dishonor’ his father never spoke much of the woman, and everything he had heard of her was purely hear-say. Still it was reasonable to assume she possessed at least some magical talent due to being elven, and the fact that her son showed an affinity towards magic at a very early age.

Thanks to these magical aspects and the fact that Falnar was a half breed in an almost exclusively human village. He was instantly viewed as being weaker than the other members. This put him on the predestined path to being one of the village scholars or healers instead of a warrior or hunter like his peers. Unwilling to accept this fate Fal spent nearly all his free time honing his skill with the blade. Which resulted in his ability to not only weave magic and master the written word, but be a fearsome foe on the front lines of the battlefield

Once Falnar turned 16 and came of age according to the traditions of his village. He was given an ultimatum to either accept his destiny or leave the village permanently. So, with a heavy heart and to the displeasure of his father he ultimately decided to set out on his own. Still, despite his disapproval Fal's father did love his son, and he gifted him the family great sword saying that if he was to truly forge his own destiny he should do it as a true warrior.

The next several years Falnar made his way south slowly stopping in the various cities and villages along the way. His first stop was in the capital on the Thanelands, Kalsgard where spent nearly six months entertaining on the streets as a poet. This was also where he went on his first adventure with several other likeminded people. It didn’t take him long to realize that the idle life was not one for him, and he began to partake in more adventures which were mostly just minor tasks and errands at first.

However, once Falnar became aware of the Pathfinders Society he immediately fell in love with the idea of dedicating his life to adventuring. This inspired him to continued south through Varisia passing through Riddleport and Magnimar. Then, eventually, once he got enough coin he bought himself passage to the grand city of Absalom where he enlisted with the freedom fighters society, The Liberties Edge.
