New Errors. The k last Event wont let me make any session entries. I created a new event to enter. But instead of showing the starfinder games ( what was run and what I checked) it gave me the whole PFS catalog and none of the SFS.

I would like to welcome June Soler for earning his 5th Star. It has been a long time in coming for this hard working Venture Captain from New Jersey. He is known far and wide and I am glad to personally work with him in the NY/NJ area

I take great pleasure in welcoming Bill Darios as the Vlt for the Queens/ Nassau area of NY. Bill has been judging many years and has taken some of my chores on and he has been asked to run over the Nassau County border. Expect great things to happen!

The rule only comes up with news ayers and only to press the importance of owning the rules you use. They usually understand and have the materials next time we play. Sometimes it comes up because older players will influence the new guys or their friends to play the cool ninja, oor the broken class without mentioning they need Thea appropriate book. But usually after their first time, tey usually te at least the PDF ( my Suday games is composed of 7-14 players at least two third of them with their ablest out.

4/5 5/55/5 *

He has been at it a long time and he is a great judge and proud to have him in our area. Congrats again, Nate.

4/5 5/55/5 *

Rick is a die hard roleplayer and judge and he is always ready to pick up a module or fill in a table. There are many things in our region we couldn't get done and all I can say its about time;)!

This is not being snarky in any way. It is asked in a matter of fact tone and curiosity. If they are disillusioned with PFS and don't participate in the campaign any longer, why do they care about how many PFS GM stars they have or how many PFS games they are credited with?

Also, please email me with the ball of wax so I am aware.

misinterpreted ... a couple of players are disillusioned ...the GM isn't..

the Idea I was presenting was based on the Idea that a game cannot happen without players ... and if the players aren't interested in PFS yet the GM is interested then there could be an option available to "Cross promote" the different products

But what are the reasons they a disillusioned with PFS? Is it the restrictions in play?12 th level cap? Or maybe just don't like the scenario style play?

I understand your point here, but if I consistently have a GM who doesn't let me use a class feature, especially if I took extra hex to get it, I would be upset. I can't change my character, but my local GM basically banned my feat post acquisition, despite having no right to do so. i'd be upset, and my VL/VC should know about it.

Do you GM? Are you prepared to lose a GM if you take your complaint to the VC/VL? The GM isn't purchasing, printing and prepping modules just to pick up stars. He/She is there to enjoy the game.

I'm not saying that it's right, but make sure you look at things from both points of view.

No judge is going to lose GM prolegs because of a complaint. It is upto us to talk to te judge and see where the problem is. None of us are. Perfect after all. A problem judge may be asked to step dwn from judging, but he didn't step up to begin with without a drive. I have had several judges I have had to retrain over the years and, save for one who walked away, the rest are still judging with no problems

Remember, to play a new race, you have to have the material on hand. So go get an ARG and Blood of Angels and make those characters!
Todd, aasimars and tieflings are in Bestiary I, yes? And that's part of the core assumption?

Chris,

The Player's Core Assumption includes the Core Rulebook, Pathfinder Society Field Guide, and the Guide to Organized Play. As a player, anything outside of those three documents require the player to bring the book/rules to the game.

Tengu are both in the ARG and Dragon Empires. Either source is acceptable since it isn't in the core assumption

Good Call on the no changing ability scores! Folks rigged their scores to take advantage of the system with a obviously OP class. They got caught and now they get to keep their scores :D

Yes, taking those 10s in Strenght and Dexterity was really rigging the system. As opposed to say: melee classes dumping Intelligence and Charisma.

It still leaves the character unable to effectively fulfill the role for which he was build. With a relallocation of stats I could still manage, even without changing base class, but not as stands.

Now, if I want cheese, I could build a druid that is an order of magnitude more powerful than any synthesist. Is that going to be the next class people scream to have banned?

Good call, except Mike noted several reasons for removing said classes. And being overpowered, min/max characters wasn't the reason he listed.

How do GMs sign up to run these?

They are handling GM sign up directly so contact Will Waddamd (CT VC) and he can hook you into that. Players need to be patient as they are finalizing their list

I know Art was having trouble reporting them during Origins.

Art, who has the missing log sheets, has been sick since Origins and had not been able to post them. I spoke to him today and he will input them as soon as he is able. Anything you need or just to inquire, email me off list at vtlrokktor@yahoo.com

I'm glad to be aboard. I'll be putting together a list of Game Stores in my area to contact about PFS during this week. If anyone wants to post a store they would like to offer PFS events please let me know.

I just want to point out we have been and probably will continue to organize and help organize conventions for Eastern PA across, NY and NJ and CT for 15 years. Everyone who is being asked to step up comes without being known for their years of experience. What happens after this will be explosive.

Congrats, and welcome, Tom! I just posted a similar spiel in Brian's South Jersey VL welcome thread before seeing this, but my name's Benn and I'm a Philadelphia-based game shop owner as well as (very) recent VC applicant. Please shoot me an email at justify.the@means.org so we can strike up a relationship! Regardless of how my application ends up, I feel you and I probably have a lot of ways we could help each other and, by extension, help the Pathfinder Society community!

Congrats again!

Tom and Brian's appointment came at about the same time.just had to straighten out his email before the announcement. Both of them will be at Dexcon for anyone who wants to say congrats or meet.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome aboard Tom Carpenter who has been appointed as a new Venture Lieutenanat for northeast PA. His email is vlttcarjr1@gmail.com and he is working out of Stroudsburg, PA. Many of you in the area know Tom Carpenter as a long running judge and player. Tm jumped in with both feet into Pathfinder Society with both feet and we played our first game together way back four years ago, convincing us to become Cheliax patriots. It's been great ever since. Take an opportunity to say hi and make him feel welcome.

4/5 5/55/5 *

Brian Lefebvre aka Drizzt1080 Has joined us the (Venture-Lieutenant, New Jersey—West Berlin. He will be coordinating in Southern NJ and working with our Central and North Jersy VC Art Lobdel and NY VL David Santana. Everyone wish him a warm welcome and you will be hearing more from him soon

4/5 5/55/5 *

We always try and put the best show we can. Now with a set staff, I am sure next year will be even better. Thanks everyone who came and played, judged, jumped in, stepped up and made one rough week a shining example of what Pathfinder Society play is all about.

Ok since this last question was never answered I will give it a go. Continual Flame Cast by a cleric (3rd level spell) would negate Darkness a 2nd level spell. so the everburning torch's (3rd level) illumination would cut through the darkness effect allowing the already prevailing light conditions to take hold within the areas the two overlap.

Now buying a 3rd level everburning torch made by a cleric would in my games be hard to find.

Which again begs the question, is continual light a 3rd level or a second level spell on ever burning torch or, is it more defined by the text that it emits light like a normal torch?

Further, light and darkness spells conflict. Darkness and deeper darkness say you need a higher level spell to cancel. Light says it cabs dispelled darkes at equal level ( cont flame and daylight). So which is it?
