My fellow gamers/adventurers: I hate to have to say this, but I think I’m gonna have to bow out of my PBP games. We all know how real life can rear its ugly head, and I’m just not finding the time to work on my online hobby these days. I can barely keep up with reading posts, let alone posting any actions on my own, and I’d rather not limp along in some half-ass fashion without being able to give the time and energy that these games and our characters deserve. As the ghoul falls dead (again?), Uldar keeps his eyes peeled for others who might come out of the farm to investigate.

As Ro and Karmid sneak around the back, Uldar keeps his bow trained on the 'watch' ghoul, in case it should make any funny movements (peculiar, not hilarious).

Uldar would like to stay back a ways. Ghouls are quite terrifying. But he also wants to see to shoot, and preferably not an innocent victim this time. So he approaches with the other sneaky folk.

"Wait, wait," Uldar says running up to the injured man. He touches the poor guy and feeds healing energy to him.

Uldar's face blanches hearing that one of them is not, as he suspected, infected, meaning the other may not have been either. "Oh, gods..."

Uldar hopes that the one he shot had already turned. Still, it probably put him out of his misery. "Who the hell is stringing up the infected like this? Who would do such a thing?"

As they approach the struggling scarecrows, Uldar would like to fire a couple of shots at them (as many as I can basically).

If there's still a ghoul in sight, Uldar would like it gone. His bow string sings right along with his song.

Uldar begins a simple tune that speaks of arrows impaling their foes as he moves up behind Drasven.

"I don't like the look of this fog," Uldar murmurs. "I'd say, when in doubt, go right, but perhaps someone who knows the terrain a bit better would like to chime in."

Uldar's bow is already moving when the creature starts to move from the ground. An arrow sails with a little hum from the bowstring.

"As Ro suggests, perhaps there is some sort of control the house, or some of its residents, may have placed on this Foxglove fellow. Perhaps we could find some sort of magic to free him of external influences?" Uldar adds.

I have to do one more bout of travelling. This will probably be it for a while though. Looks like Tues thru Sunday. Will do my best to check in as I can, but no guarantees. Apologies in advance

"The sick and wounded should get to town right away." He takes up his bow and stands braced against the corner of the wagon. "I'll be happy to shoot any scarecrow that comes our way."

"Awww, kitties," Uldar says. With their foe down, he stops his performance, but keeps a wary eye over the unconscious man.

Uldar is completely caught off guard by the nearly dead man's assault... and doubly so by Lia's ambivalence. Figuring that one more body crowding around this creature probably won't help his mood, he starts to sing a song to bolster his allies as he draws out his bow.

The sight of the poor man is unsettling, but that his caregiver would simply let him turn into a ghoul is truly disturbing.

Uldar, being new to town, has no idea what the "Misgivings" are, but it sounds to him like some sort of queer festival. Like something where you celebrate everything that's gone wrong in a year, perhaps to ward it off for next year.
"Skinsaw man. Not really an inviting name," he mutters.

Uldar can hardly contain his laugh at the man's 'big city' comment. "Well, for the moment, we were heading up to the sanitorium. But we thought we'd say hello to you lovely people."

"Or perhaps the murders HAVE reached their ears, and their a little more apprehensive than they might be otherwise." Uldar isn't from the area, so he's not sure of the usual protocol anyway.

Uldar shudders remembering the bodies in the mill. "For someone, it is very important to them in the present."

Uldar waits outside with Ro. He doesn'y believe Vinder had anything to do with the murders and doubts the man would be helpful anyway. Based on the raised voices coming out of the room, he assumes his assessment was correct. "Where to next, Ro?"

"Hmm, is is possible the Scarnetti's knew about this and sent an assassin of some sort? Seems an awfully brutal and inelegant way to deal with skimming profits, but ..." He let's the question hang in the air.

"Perhaps there might even be two minds at work here, Karmid. Someone who can walk about in public, and someone who cannot? Based on these letters, it may be that the former is mad, but otherwise looks and acts normal. This is all speculation, but we should keep our options open." Uldar nods at the Shoanti's idea. "I'd be willing to go to either, but perhaps my talents are of better service at the sanitarium."

As a good picture starts to form in his head about what happens, Uldar begins to get very nervous. "Ah, umm, perhaps, we have all the information we need." His voice squeaks a little. "Umm, should we check the graveyard first?" He does not follow anyone over t the loading dock.

Uldar tries to keep his mind on the puzzle at hand. It's the only way he knows to keep the horror of this scene from affecting his constitution. He briefly thanks Shelyn that he decided against the sliced ham in the inn this morning.
"Vinder seems less and less likely a suspect. Let's say he finds out about the afore-mentioned boinking. Perhaps he's even mad enough to beat Harker. But to cut up his own daughter? If he came to confront Harker, and found his daughter like this, he might have easily killed the man in rage. Couldn't fault him for it. But this... this is sick, twisted. Evil. We're looking for someone else, Sheriff Hemlock. Or something else," he adds with a nod toward Drasven's werewolf-hypothesis. "And they removed his jaw. Hmm." He looks around the room wondering if it's still here.

Uldar pauses a second at the bloody footprints. "Anyone good at identifying tracks?" he asks peering closely at them.

"Yes, it seems strange that a lumber mill would be active at night. Seems like the kind of thing that would lead to accidents." That gets Uldar to thinking. "Say, Sheriff. Why would Vinder murder the Galdurian men? And can Ven account for his whereabouts during that time? He's perhaps got a motive for this mill owner (and not a particularly good one), but what about them?"

"Murders most foul." Uldar shakes his head sadly. "What does the letter say?"

The odd manner the woman displays worries Uldar. Perhaps my time here isn't quite done yet. After a quick breakfast, he's out of the door and ready to meet the others.

"Those walls seem to vastly predate the goblins. I imagine they will stand up to even their mischief." At least, he hopes they will.

Uldar appears from the bushes where he was waiting with his bow trained on the shaman. "I could still shoot him from here, if you like?" he says to Ro.

"Hmm, perhaps we could just leave a sign pointing to the meat?"

"Look to the trees," Uldar says, completely missing anything that may be on the ground. "If there's someone or something here, that's where they'll come from."

Uldar almost warns Ro of Lia's approach, but thought she had seen her. Ah well, no harm done. He begins to take a more serious look around. Everyone seems to be moving quietly, none more so than Karmid. So he also steps a bit more lightly.

"Nothing good ever comes from poking around cemeteries," Uldar says as he moves to see what's been found.

The meat patrol seems about as entertaining as Uldar had expected: rain, flies, the smell of meat. At least they aren't being overrun by goblins or anything, so he doesn't grumble too much. An occasional application of prestidigitation keeps the worst of the smells at bay. In the meantime, he tries to get the lay of the land.

Uldar snickers as the meat wagon gets under way. "Never thought I would actually be bringing food to goblins. What's this world coming to?"

yes, Uldar is coming on the meat run.

I haven't heard otherwise, so I'm assuming he can get a small size masterwork composite longbow for 500 and a mithral shirt for 1100?

Uldar is interested in the glassworks tunnels, but he said he'd help with the meat, so meat it is

Uldar spends some time looking about the shops, inquiring if any one in town might have a mithral shirt for sale, or a masterwork bow in his size. Not such a bad little town, goblins and demon-women not withstanding.
