Tristan is a tall and muscular young man, a little ungainly even - apart from his hands, that usually seem to be dancing around his body, especially when he is nervous or pensive. He's got brown hair and green eyes and speaks with a thick Varisian accent.

For a ranger, Tristan isn't particularly fond of the wilderness, preferring to stay in populated areas, although his indomitable wanderlust never lets him stay in one place for long. His favored enemy is giants, mostly because he is mortally afraid of them.

He used to make his living as a juggler, since he's too shy to speak much and prefers to let his hands do the talking. When he's in an act, he can be surprisingly charming and entertaining, but generally he prefers animals to people.

After his brush with evil, Tristan has withdrawn from company and taken up wandering, never staying long in one place. His former youthful exuberance has been muted by brooding and nervous demeanor. He regularly returns to visit his friends in Sandpoint, but there is no longer any place he calls "home".
