==EXTRAORDINARY, SPELL-LIKE ABILITIES & SUPERNATURAL ABILITIES==
Skilled: Goblins gain a +4 racial bonus on Ride and Stealth checks.

Cave Crawler: Some goblins are born and raised in caves and rarely see the light of day. Goblins with this trait gain a climb speed of 10 feet and the +8 racial bonus on Climb checks associated with having a climb speed. Goblins with this racial trait have a base speed of 20 feet and lose the fast movement racial trait.

Fast Movement (Ex): A barbarian's land speed is faster than the norm for her race by +10 feet. This benefit applies only when he is wearing no armor, light armor, or medium armor, and not carrying a heavy load. Apply this bonus before modifying the barbarian's speed because of any load carried or armor worn. This bonus stacks with any other bonuses to the barbarian's land speed.

==TRICKS==
Attack x2 The animal attacks apparent enemies. You may point to a particular creature that you wish the animal to attack, and it will comply if able. Normally, an animal will attack only humanoids, monstrous humanoids, giants, or other animals. Teaching an animal to attack all creatures (including such unnatural creatures as undead and aberrations) counts as two tricks.

Come The animal comes to you, even if it normally would not do so.

Defend The animal defends Treetopper (or is ready to defend Treetopper if no threat is present), even without any command being given. Alternatively, Treetopper can command the animal to defend a specific other character.

Down The animal breaks off from combat or otherwise backs down. An animal that doesn’t know this trick continues to fight until it must flee (due to injury, a fear effect, or the like) or its opponent is defeated.

Guard The animal stays in place and prevents others from approaching.

Heel The animal follows you closely, even to places where it normally wouldn’t go.

==DESCRIPTION==
Age 15 Height 3-ft, 1-in Weight 35 lb.

Treetopper on Ozark
Treetopper with his Winchester

Treetopper dresses as an archetype cowboy with leather boots and a long coat. He wears blue jeans, a red scarf, and a two-gallon hat. His weapon’s belt holsters a Colt revolver, sheaths a small cavalry saber, and holds reloads for his revolver and Winchester pepperbox that he sheathes on the saddle of his wolf. His outfit is a sharp contrast with his green skin, large ears, red beady eyes, and large toothy maw.

==PERSONALITY==
Treetopper has tremendously evolved over the past five years from a feral goblin slave to become a deputy marshal. He is well used to the derision and discrimination from the big races. Therefore, unless he feels that Ozark, his gear, or his person are truly threatened, he stoically tolerates others’ behavior with a toothy grimace. On the other hand, he will react to a real threat, at the moment if necessary, or later at night, when he can even the odds.

His personal dream is a ranch with a civilized goblin family. Once attained or given the opportunity, he wants to honor his Dwarven friend’s memory. Maybe traveling to the Dwarven homelands to find his family. It’s not a debt to be repaid, which he already repaid with interest by killing his friend’s killers.

==BACKGROUND==
Treetopper was born fifteen years ago on a peach orchard plantation in a Confederate state of Nova Roma. Goblins were bred to climb and harvest trees. The youngest and smallest were painfully encouraged to work quickly and fall out of the tree before dropping a peach. Treetopper was the best goblin in the orchard, and Vog, as he was known then, survived life not knowing that he could live any other way. Then, the war started.

The first change was the oldest and strongest goblins and hobgoblins were taken away in several waves. The persistent rumor was that they went to other plantations to work on war material. Whatever that meant. Evidently, soldiers did not eat many peaches. After several years of being worked harder due to fewer goblins, brigands began to arrive. Vog learned a very important lesson that bigs with swords and guns were unstoppable. They even made their bigs (masters and overseers) do what they wanted. Then, in the spring of 1864, brigands killed their bigs and set fire to the big house. They were free.

After a couple of days without bigs and routine, Vog joined a hungry group heading toward the mountains. They traveled at night staying away from the roads and bigs in general. Occasionally, they found and plundered unguarded supplies in the dead of night. Vog started to learn and appreciate how the bigs lived and made war. And big cavalry was awesome; the horses made the bigs huge! Big cavalry chased his goblins like foxes. Vog and two others escaped into the Appalachian Mountains primarily using their ability to hide and sleep in the tops of trees. He never forgot the cavalry and their deadly sabres.

Vog and Ronk ate Poog after he fell and broke his ankle descending the far side of the mountains. With only two of them left, they were much more successful skirting civilization. For want of a better idea, they followed the setting sun until they met the Tennessee River. Unable to cross it easily, they followed it on the southern side, and that’s when they met Durnim Hornblower, a Dwarven tinker. He was traveling alone with a pony and cart away from the major roads following the river, too. They spied on him having never before seen a dwarf. After a few days, they got too close, and the tinker saw Ronk. He smiled and called to them. Like wild animals, it took several days of food and coaxing for the goblins to join him. This was a turning point for Vog, because he was finally able to experience civilization from the inside.

Vog and Ronk became porters for the tinker. Ronk quickly began to chafe at the virtual chain and likened the situation to the orchard, but Vog enjoyed learning everything the dwarf could teach him. One night, the conflict came to a head when Ronk attempted to kill the sleeping tinker. Vog instead killed Ronk hiding the body and telling the tinker that Ronk went his own way. Metaphorically, Vog killed his old life to start a new one.

As a goblin traveling in the Confederate States, Vog was subjected to intense discrimination in villages, even if the Civil War had been pronounced over, and appreciated the dwarf’s respect that much more. The two traded languages, Vog teaching Goblin and learning Dwarven. Durnim also taught Vog to read and gave him a small cavalry saber that he had collected. The two continued westward toward the mountain homeland of the tinker. Vog began to dress more and more civilized and began to appreciate fine clothes and hats. They crossed the Mississippi River at the Cairo ferry. Vog had never seen so much water.

Continuing westward peddling the tinker’s wares, they passed through the Ozark Mountains. It was there where Vog met his wolf. The cub had been left alone by its pack. Vog felt kinship for the cub and fed it. The cub followed them and was eventually named Ozark. While the two were civilizing a wild animal, human civilization was becoming wilder. They passed through Springfield several months after the famous “quick draw” duel between Wild Bill Hickok and Davis Tutt. Vog did not stay in town much with Durnim, because he was traveling every day to visit and feed Ozark. Thus, the brigands who marked the tinker did not pay the goblin porter much attention.

Two days west of Springfield the bandits ambushed them. They wounded the tinker while Vog escaped on Ozark. That night, Vog returned to the scene to bury the body of his friend. The bandits had taken everything of value, so Vog and Ozark tracked them. For two years, they shadowed these bandits watching them in their grief until Vog started killing them off. He kicked over some rocks to ruin an ambush causing two bandits to be shot. He poisoned the food at their hideout eventually killing one of them slowly and painfully. Vog loosened their horses’ saddle cinch causing three to be captured and hung. Finally, he cornered the leader alone in his hideout and shot him many times. After his cathartic revenge, Vog was relatively rich with the bandit’s loot. He began visiting various outposts buying a few things here and there to be a proper cowboy. He even had a saddle and barding tailored for Ozark.

When he saw the advertisements for deputy marshals at Fort Laramie, Vog and Ozark made the trek. Leaving his old name behind, he introduced himself as Treetopper. Ozark, his quality gear, and well-maintained revolver and peppergun signaled that he was not an average goblin. Now, he is proud to be Deputy Marshal Treetopper.
