Description Athanasius is a bit on the short side, but extremely well-built. Despite his rippling muscles, he is not the most pleasant man to look upon. Numerous scars cover his body and the tusks jutting from his mouth make him quite the sight to see.

Background Athanasius grew to respect the wild from an early age when his parents were killed before his eyes by a dire bear while they were traveling with a caravan. Unfortunately for Athanasius, the caravan was not high on the thoughts of an orphaned half-orc and deposited him in the next town.

Forced to live on the streets, he found himself picked on constantly and in order to try and lessen the damage, he started strapping odds bits to his being as a type of piece-meal armor while working to hold his own. Upon one such occasion, the leader of a small gain witnessed his power as Athanasius lifted one of the bullies above his head to toss him right back to the ground. Impressed, he brought him in as a enforcer for the group.

His life went well enough for awhile, but soon enough he would find himself on the run as the gang was confronted by the village's militia and brought to justice.

Sick of the intolerance, Athanasius came to live in the wilds where he would have surely died if he had not found Gozreh. With her guidance, he came to learn to use his natural "talents" and the bow of an unfortunate traveler to make his living.

It was a hard life, but a happy one till he realized how much he longed for interaction with more intelligent races. Swearing to never give up on the wild, he set forth into a village to lend his aid as a guide so that he might have the best of both worlds.

Personality Often quiet and introspective, Athanasius enjoys moving about on his own. However, when with a group, he will try to communicate where he can, but often finds himself lost on some of the more civilized topics.

In combat he prefers to use his claws and tusks while using his armor like the thick hide of a bear. However, he is not beyond using his bow and arrow with its broad range of arrows to tip the advantage in his favor.

    You wouldn't have lived to make it out of childhood without the aid of a sibling, friend, or companion on whom you could always count to distract your enemies long enough for you to do a little bit more damage than normal. That companion may be another PC or an NPC (who may even be recently departed from your side). When you hit a foe you are flanking, you deal an additional 1 point of damage (this damage is added to your base damage, and is multiplied on a critical hit). This additional damage is a trait bonus.
