About The Jester of Fateful Insanity

I, the Jester of Fateful Insanity, have decided to bring a group of heroic chumps on a trip through that insanity that is my making. This is not your typical adventure, for an adventure unlike any other it is, filled with craziness, wonkiness, homebrewedness, and whatever other ness's I can find! This is not a test of your mettle and resolve, not a test of wit and cunning, not a test of magical might. This is a test of simply having fun in the recesses of what I can create!

Adventure Synopsis

There isn't much to start with. All PCs will start together, not knowing who each other is, not certain how they came together. From there it will be an insanity filled trip that will be written as we go along. Some things to expect:

  • Plot Hammering - There will be times this is used to keep everyone on track, or just on a whim
  • Changing physics - The world will be mutable, not something expected
  • Moments of insanity - Events will occur that may make little to no sense. This is Working as Intended
  • Randomness - yes, randomness

Things not to expect:

  • Overarching Plot - I don't really have one. The events of the campaign will dictate how events occur, though a plot may develop
  • Consistency - The enjoyment of this campaign is having no idea what will be happening next
  • Dinosaurs - Okay there may be dinosaurs

Character Creation - Concept

When creating your character, thinkg about what you would enjoy playing. This adventure is about trying out some off-the-wall character that wouldn't make sense in most campaigns. The more enjoyable the concept sounds, the better. A few questions that can help:

  • Where are you from?
  • How did you receive your training?
  • What is the current status of your family?
  • Who were your friends, allies and enemies?
  • What are you hobbys and interests?
  • What are your favorite/unliked foods?
  • What was your life goals before the craziness?
  • Did you have a hero growing up and who?

Character Creation - Mechanics

The following are the rules I'll be using for character creation.

  • Level 1
  • 25 Point Buy
  • Races - I'm fine with any races that you can find Pathfinder stats for. (See below for custom races and 3pp)
  • Classes - I'm fine with any classes you can find Pathfinder stats for. (See below for 3pp)
  • Hit Points - Max to start, rolled afterwards
  • Starting Gold - You start with NOTHING!
  • Alignments - Any. That said, when I choose the group, I'll choose partly based on what would cooperate with the group, so beware Chaotic Evil
  • Traits - 2
  • Background - Characters will be selected based on how interesting I find them. I cannot really offer guidelines beyond this as I won't know what ends up interesting me until I see them. The more information you can provide on who this person is, the more helpful it can be to me as a DM. Fleshing out people you knew can help as well, but it's possible this may not be used in the campaign
  • Final moments - Each character should provide the last thing they remember. This can be anything from passing out at the bar, to charging an orcish horde. It should end with the character unable to recall what happened next
  • Custom Races - If you wish to submit a race using the race creation guidelines, feel free to do so. However with such a race, I need an ecology of such. I recommend using the PHB race descriptions as a guide, but feel free to expand as much as you feel is necessary. I do reserve the right to use said race in this campaign.
  • Advanced Races - Races that are considered advanced may level slower than other classes that do. This will be worked out individually for those selected. Even and advanced race will start off at first level (though they might not level up for awhile)
  • 3PP - I will allow the use of 3PP material. However I need to be able to access the rules to use them. If it's not available on the SRD, let me know where it's from. If I'm unwilling to purchase said materials, I will let you know as this could reject a concept.
