About Terylinlara the exile

Background:
When your father is mage adept of the blue circle, and your mother bishop of the first rank in the church of Erastil, it is expected that you’ll study magic, either arcane or divine. There was never any question as to whether Terylinlara would study magic, there was only a question of which parent she would follow after. As is sometimes the case when “teenagers” start to see their future force-fed to them, rebellion takes shape. Terylin’s rebellion was to secretly train with her cousin in the ways of the sword, and not just any sword, but the true weapon of the elven warrior, the two-handed curve blade. Terylin found as much magic in performing her sword forms as in any dusty tome, and it was inevitable that she was found out. Disgusted, her parents gave her an ultimatum, relinquish the silly dream of being a soldier, and focus on the study of magic, for they had determined, as long lived races will, that magic was the power to shape their race’s destiny. Swords had their place, yes, but all those capable of magic had a duty to pursue the use of its power. Thus it was that Terylinlara was exiled. Exiled to human lands to continue her pursuit of the way of the sword. Caravan guard, mercenary, soldier, Terylin had been them all, but it wasn’t until a debonair man, flowing in silks and gold watched her dispatching a trio of thugs bent on robbing him, that she found her true calling: Gladiator. Jasper became her manager and her lover, and she felt at home in the streets of the metropolis they called home. While her fights now took on the mantle of sport, or show, they were no less deadly, and she had garnered a reputation for being particularly effective at dispatching magic users in the arena. Perhaps a shadow of her still burning rebellion against her parents’ exile. Whatever the case, Terylin lives, fights, loves, and one day will no doubt die in front of the screaming throng.
