The Blue Fairy is accompanied by a d'ziriak firefly, named Lucien, who serves as her familiar. Lucien is Tiny, and his natural bioluminescence fluctuates through a spectrum of rainbow jewel-tones and pastels.

Blue is a longtime ally of faerie dragons, pseudodragons, and pyraustas and can sometimes be found socializing in their remote forest glades. Blue is fiercely protective of all fireflies (especially Lucien) and delights in playing daredevil games with cats and kittens of all sizes. She has almost been eaten a dozen times over while baiting grimalkin with her glow, but that fact doesn't seem to concern her in the least.

At some point The Blue Fairy also befriended the d'ziriak hive-nations on the Plane of Shadow. She lived among them for years, learned many of their secrets, their language, and has kept their silence ever since. Several colorful d'ziriak runes glow along her wings, denoting her place as a trusted friend and ally among their people. Blue considers herself honor bound to offer her assistance if she hears the hives are in danger, though she refuses to explain her reasons to anyone else. She speaks to her d'ziriak firefly almost exclusively in the D'ziriak language, and Lucien seems especially responsive and pleased when she does.

Most of Blue's other languages have been picked up by observing and spying on cultures (or creatures) she finds interesting, or from the meaningful friendships with individual outsiders she has experienced over a millennia of reincarnated fey lifetimes.

The Blue Fairy follows the deific archfey The Lantern King, but also honors Desna as a kind of queen. She is likely to be friendly with worshipers of either faith.

Her Amulet of the Planes was stolen ages ago from a Kuthonite cult, while Blue helped to thwart a dark ritual dedicated to Zon-Kuthon. She has been considered an enemy of his church ever since. If and when they recognize her, Zon-Kuthon's faithful try to kill her on sight. The Blue Fairy takes keen pleasure in recklessly using and abusing the power of the amulet to flit about the multiverse, sometimes unpredictably, but perpetually at Zon-Kuthon's expense.
