Tyranius has a better Charisma score and would have a better chance to command intelligent undead creatures with the wand. Plus Tanna would naturally defer to his superior training and experience.

Tanna looks around for any rubbish large enough to cast her light orison on, then casts light on it and drops it down the shaft to see if she can gauge the depth of the hole and see if there is any things down there. She approaches the eighth statue, carved in black stone, looks up and says, "This tall woman with three faces looking in three directions must represent Pharasma... me thinks." She then takes in every detail of it, without touching it... sketching some of the finer points in her journal, looking for anything more unusual that it being carved in different colored stone. Thanks for BOTing Tanna, I had to cut my business trip short as my 9 y/o son, who broke his elbow this past Monday (about 10 minutes before I had to leave for the airport!), has to have surgery today to set and pin the bone.
