Tan Jianguo has traveled far from his original lands. Although he started out as a ferryman and devotee of Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, He has spent much of the time since unemployed, doing odd jobs, offering to perform in plays, and getting as drunk as he is allowed. During one of these binges he found himself as a crew member on a ship bound for Avistan. Once in Magnimar, he joined the crew of another vessel, expecting it to go back to Tian Xia, but on the day the ship set sail, he stumbled aboard the Jenivere. Thankfully, with some swift talking and the oar he carries, he was able to sign aboard as crew.
Secret!:
An Inquisitor for Cayden Cailean (originally Sun Wukong), he was chosen by the Temple of the Monkey King to generally shake things up abroad. From an early start, he showed a strong capacity to hold his liquor, and would regularly demonstrate his prowess through drinking large quantities of alcohol, and engaging others in contests. He converted to the faith of Cayden Cailean after finding himself aboard a ship bound for Avistan. It appears that there may have been a deal struck between the two gods regarding him, that he himself is not fully aware of.
