Kamii sneezed as a trickle of dust fell from the cavern roof and teased his snout. He was in a sour mood, the elation he had felt when Kanzen and Kammella had destroyed each other fading a bit when he discovered, searching the camp and nearby cave system, that the artifacts that were Kammella's treasure trove, including his own confiscated artifact dagger, were nowhere to be found. His mood had really sank when he felt Kanzen's powerful aura returning already, seemingly fully renewed and he had been forced to hide in the caverns to avoid getting slaughtered. She had simply raised her goblin servant from the dead then left but he hid still on the off chance she was waiting in ambush. She had simply left without even trying to follow his trail which, on the one hand he was grateful for, but still pissed him off on some level. Did she consider him so inconsequential? Also; Kamella's physical form had been slain but her spirit was almost certainly intact and she would not forget Kamii's slight. He let out a bull like snort, clearing his nostrils, and considered. The simple fact was that he was completely outmatched by those two, he didn't stand a chance, it would take a freaking god to defeat them... Kamii smiled. "It comes full circle..." He considered, thinking of a certain Key in the possession of a group of heroes that would grant him access to a true divine apotheosis. But how to get it? The party outmatched him and Kammella had stolen all his resources and allies...except for one group, one group so foul even Kammella, who enslaved Demons, wouldn't deal with. Kamii's toothy grin widened to his ears. A last post before I take off =) I'll be much more active when I get back. (assuming all goes well)
Sorry for the delay folks, just got back from the hospital after an incident. I'm okay, but it turns out I have juvenile diabetes that somehow has gone undiagnosed into adulthood. Two things that have been a mystery to me for a while, my recent overblown anxiety and depression first, apparently might not be cause by life circumstances at all but by sugar overloading my brain and causing anxiety, confusion etc. and the other thing; my ability to always stay skinny no matter what, that some people in my life have expressed envy over, turns out to be because my system isn't digesting carbs right, just flushing them. Which for some reason finding that out struck me as hilarious, as it's like, oh ok it's not a "gift" there is just something horrible wrong with my body, lol. Any way just trying to keep you guys updated, bad timing to be sick as I just became GM again. Also if the above paragraph doesn't make much sense, it's because I am on pain meds for the injury I took when collapsing, so apologies for the loopiness. Anyway, I'll try to update the game and answer PMs soon, apologies for the inconvenience.

The divine energy you have absorbed grants you Divine Rank 3 with all its attending abilities. Rules here. If you don't want to mess with those rules or find they change your character in ways you don't like you can ignore them if you wish. In addition you gain Prince Devlin's original abilities (which can be upgraded with time and experience); a 90ft fly speed with perfect maneuverability, the ability to raise a personal shield as a standard action that operates similarly to a wall of force with cl 20, hardness 30 and 400 hp, and the ability to summon any type of weapon and wield it with proficiency as a swift action that has a +6 enhancement bonus and counts as Adamantine though it appears to be made out of bone not metal. In addition you gain a ranged touch attack with a range of 400 ft that deals 1d6 damage per hit die you possess that counts as an epic weapon that deals piecing damage. This attack takes the form of a hail of bone slivers. Also if you'd find a different material than bone more fun feel free to change it.
Vulture King wrote: The Vulture King nods as Kamella is speaking before saying, ”So who exactly is this Wicked Man? If we are indeed to fight him then I should want to know what we are dealing with.” "Even I don't know his origins, incalculably ancient as he is but many cultures know of him in various ways, by numerous names and stories; The First Evil, The Father of Rovagug, The Source. Even on Earth he was known in some Ages; he murdered the Wizard Kings of Atlantis, tempted the Man-God for forty days and forty nights in the desert, and shot the Good Man in Memphis, framing a fool for the murder." Kammella shrugs. "Who, or what, he really is I don't know, nor do I know what motivates him but judging by his works he is both extremely strong and extremely rotten."
So, it'll all be explained in game, here or eventually, but essentially the biggest part of the Main Plot involved in this situation is an inversion of the classic "Keep the Dark God from getting Unsealed/Awakened or they will destroy the world." in which it's a good god that will bring a happy ending if it's unsealed so the bad guys want to stop it, and the main way of it getting unsealed is for each PC to die... So you're ending up with a situation where some good guys and some bad guys will want you dead and some good guys and some bad guys will want to save you. And on the PCs side what do you do? When you find out soon your deaths equal perfect happiness for everyone do you kill yourselves? Live and let the universe be and work itself out? Survive at all costs cause F dying? It's up to you guys big picture, choices and RP and what not. Also, the reason I am explaining this out of game instead of just in game is I find this situation tends to need to be clarified out of game cause it's a little confusing and new at first for most people.
Kammella snorted as her other minion disappeared through the portal and left her alone. She wielded a power that in some ways exceeded that of the Gods and yet her value as a person was still up for debate among the men who served her based on her looks? Gee, it is always fun being a woman. Maybe I should just transform into a Great Wyrm Dragon and rule in that form, that would probably be easier. But then she shrugged and moved on, she liked her body alot, didn't really matter what anyone else thought. She stretched in her floating throne, feeling the dry desert heat and it's bright sun warm her face. Was she doing the right thing? Was killing these innocent heroes and breaking the Seal really the best choice? She pondered the Wicked Man and the existential threat he posed to all of Creation. While alone her power could match his after a fashion, her own organization was small, if strong. Compared to the resources of the Wicked Man though it was a drop in the ocean. She shuddered to think of his vast armies of evil, his close allies among the Demon Lords and Dark Gods, his towering, city destroying God-Machines that marched through the depths of the infernal planes. Would it be wiser to ally with the heroes though? Could together they stand a chance? She hoped she was making the right decision.
Saren's loud snores didn't bother anyone, what with the chaos of the Undead invasion, and he napped away in the big branches of a tree grown along the margins of a main boulevard as decoration. His ears twitched at the sound of each explosion of energy and vicious impact from the battle of the heroes and the dark Nightwalker but nothing seemed to wake him. Babey hopped up into the tree and alighted on Saren's chest. "Wake up you idiot! It's an apocalypse!" She yelled in Saren's face. His eyes drooply opened then shot wide in surprise. "By the Dark Gods of Chaos!" He exclaimed. "What the hell are you, a grasshopper with breasts?" Babey frowned in annoyance. "Listen you empty headed idiot, I got separated from my friends in the excitement and I need you to escort me back, you don't look particularly busy, can I get some help?" Saren scratched his nose as he considered. "I was just napping before my duel, but I have some time to kill, I'll help you. Honestly I'm a little surprised you're even still around, it seems like there haven't been any posts about you in a while." Saren commented as he rose and stretched. Babey hopped on his head as he yawned and pointed to the distance battle. "Come on you fourth wall breaking idiot, It's time I helped my friends!" Saren shrugged then hopped out of the tree. "Everyone is so busy these days, does no one respect a good nap anymore?" He sighed.
As Kei leads the women away to safety Alyssa forms an ad hoc band of warriors from the civilians, to surprisingly grand effect. A baker shields a group of children with his thick body, smashing apart skeleton after skeleton with his duel wielded rolling pins. A woman in the robes of a wizards apprentice fires off a pair of magic missiles, shattering an advancing skeleton to pieces. A tall muscular man in a construction worker's overalls wields a strange jeweled dagger. He stabs a ghoul in the chest with it, moving with the deadly grace of a professional killer and snorts in laughter as the ghoul withers and dies with unnatural speed. A matronly woman snaps the end off her broom and rams it through a ghoul's open screeching mouth, stabbing it so hard the spear like wood pierces out the back of the undead's head. The attacked civilians rally thanks to Alyssa and defend their neighbors with valor.
"Mistress! Do you feel that?!" Ak'Gak squealed in terror. "Silence you little fool..." Kanzen said, though her voice held no malice towards him, it was clear she was concentrating hard as she stared off into the distance. After a long moment she turned back towards the Goblin. "We leave." She said and began to walk in the opposite direction of the black smear in the distant sky. "Huh?" Ak'Gak inquired as Kanzen walked past him, not waiting. "Mistress, wait for me!" He called as he scrambled to match the longer gait of his master. Wherever the Mistress wanted to be, it was clearly not here.
Hello all, I am a 34 year old lesbian who has been in a happy relationship with a woman for seven years. I've been an avid gamer since I was a child and discovered some old warhammer army books (specifically wood elves and the cool original Undead one, from before the Undead were a couple of separate teams) that lead me to the amazing first ed of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. I have been gleefully hooked ever since to roleplaying and if I had my choice I would spend 90% of my life in my head designing stories and campaigns for RPGs and the other 10% running them. Pathfinder is my fav version of D&D (though I've come to appreciate the easy simplicity of 5th ed recently)as it feels like a version designed for max fun, an almost by the players for the players feel with plenty of awesome toys for the GMs as well, and I have been super excited about the release of the small, softcover rule books as they are much less of a pain to lug around and I find them fun to read in various positions (which is how I generally like to read, sprawled about), So you know, I'm buying the rule books up all over again. Anyway I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello to you all. =)

Hello all, I am starting a continuous Golarion meta-campaign beginning with Rise of the Runelords Anniversary edition. What do I mean by continuous? Simply that the PC's actions, legends and successes or failures will continue to effect my version of the world of Golarion in all of the games I set there on these boards, of which there will be many over time. I plan on running each adventure and each adventure path only once; the results of which, success or failure, will become the reality of my Golarion. This is a pet project I plan on running for the rest of my life(I like pathfinder that much!) Anywho, all of that is just an aside at the moment, what matters is playing! I will be accepting 6 players for this game. Characters may be created using any material in the core rulebook and the core rulebook only. Characters are built at 2nd level using 25 point buy and starting with 1,000 gp in wealth. Character Selection will be on the 13th, after which the game will begin shortly. There will be two house rules regarding combat to speed it up for play by post; 1st is that I will not use a grid, movement will be a narrated abstraction with only general distance mattering. 2nd initiative will be done away with, instead I will declare when combat starts, from that point on PCs will have 24 hours in which to post their actions. The actions occur in the order they are posted. After 24 hours the bad guys get a turn after which the PCs have another 24 hours in which to act, etc. until combat is resolved. Please have a fully fleshed out personality and backstory and a reason for being in Sandpoint for your character with your application. Please only apply if you genuinely intend on playing the entire campaign without dropping out. Other than that I look forward to gaming with you!

"It means they are friendly! They are Ashley's friends!" The bearded man yells more loudly when that doesn't appear to stop the boy. "Oh.." He says, lowering his fist, he raises his hand again as if to shake hands with Zaidel, then, deciding that might not be the appropriate gesture of welcome with these strange friends of Ashley's he leans in and gives Zaidel a big kiss.
Toys for you Vulture King, if you want them: Toys! The Vulture King is likely somewhere in Divine Ranks 6-10 currently. These are the deity rules I'll use in this game, you don't have to use them, as there is alot of work but if you want him to be a 'proper' deity (rules wise) this is the way to go. But as always, do what you like!

No, 8 characters and they don't need fit an archtype, sorry that post was when I was first waking up what with the brainfog and the bad reading comprehension and the gum in my eyes. All I was saying is that the levels not matching is ok, there are many ways of building a party that are fine outside the typical Pathfinder conventions.
TheWaskally wrote: Will leveling be involved, and will we all level at the same rate? There will be times when I grant the party a level at certain story points but you may also greatly level up your character with GM approval if you engage in narrating an entertaining Dragon Ball Z like training montage to gain new strength and powers in your downtime.

To be, or not to be: that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of trouble and by opposing end them? To die: to sleep; No more; and by a sleep to say we end the heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks that flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation devoutly to be wish'd; To die, to sleep; To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub;
-A Mangled Excerpt from Hamlet, Found in the Ruins of Merlin's Tower. Hello all and welcome to my game, the premise of which is a little odd but which is rife with roleplaying opportunities: simply put, your characters are regular human beings from modern earth who have passed away by some means, either natural or tragic, and awaken after death to find that they are in some huge fantasy world and that their consciousness inhabits either an ideal form of themselves or a character or being from fiction or their own imagination that they always wished they could be. A young man who loves Hellboy comics and always wished he could share in the adventure may find himself in the body of that character, able to duel demon lords with his strength. A woman who wished in life she could fly and speak her every desire into existence may find herself able to fly and use the wish spell at will in this strange otherworld. But why are they here? Is this the afterlife? Some strange other dimension? The bizarre dreams of a dying brain? Is there a purpose to their new existence, or is this just random happenstance? Character Creation:
You can literally play any character you want in this game and there are no limits but I will tell you ahead of time that I look for three things in selecting players; a desire to roleplay interesting characters(you don't need to be super skilled at it just like it), an ability to get along with other players well and a character that, however wild, is built within the frame of the existing pathfinder rules just so I can have an easier time adjudicating effects. i.e. your mastery of lightning and weather is represented by existing spells as spell-like abilities rather than some vaguely worded rule you made up.
I will be selecting up to eight players (assuming there is any interest in this game) |
