'Normal' people are not going to line up for an EE offering. The cost being the same as an AAA game as far as monthly fees go is your best argument Audoucet and its a weak one. EE is going to draw that minority who like the IDEA of the product and they form the core that everything else builds around. That's the whole point of crowdforging. Once they monetize our gameplay in EE the additional revenue would allow for the 'wants' we have to be prioritized alongside the 'needs' of the game to be a success come OE. Now each one of us has our own litmus test for when a company is delivering a worthwhile product and you have said your peace, why not just move along and find another community to annoy?

Perhaps I could point out that if you click on Pyronous Rath you will find out that there is no question as to whether troll is a fair label?

I still don't understand how some people think they have the right to attack others for seeing potential. Most of us have things we want to see but are willing to put up with a very rough version of the game on the way, which to be honest is exactly what we are 'owed' from GW for supporting the kickstarter, not all the bells and whistles a VERY vocal minority seems to think its owed.

I will agree player husks/encumbrance/organized PvP should be the next elements added but would have no problem starting the clock if told a definite timeline on them if that timeline was only a few weeks.

Some people want to make cooking analogies I prefer thinking of this project as a statue being carved out of raw stone. The start of EE is only the roughest shaping of the final product and our contribution most properly will be in adding details yet too many think they are entitled to dictate every aspect of the game.

As to those who claim that game sites will doom the game because it doesn't meet their expectations all I can say is I rarely use those site as anything but a means to find what new games are coming out, and I doubt im alone in that regard.

I would suspect the entire GW team is currently desperately trying to finish THEIR goals for the EE launch. I would also imagine they are scratching their heads and wondering how the WoT ended up with a player NAP when they must have been expecting a bloodbath that would occupy us while they polished existing systems and added new content.

I think the political map should read... the escalations are winning!

Xeen go back over Audoucets posts for the last few months, toxic attitudes are bad for everyone associated with them.

In further interest in hearing from a dev on the actual mechanics is the influence a company expends on a POI a one time thing or does it gradually as you improve a POI eat into the potential pool of influence you could use on other objectives? Knowing how these costs are balanced would greatly affect how we plan ANY operations.

Urman I would hope everyone could recognize that I responded like that to highlight his attitudes which is why I tried to make the rest of my post non personal. To those arguing I'm making massive leaps lumping people together I respond in part true however as you are arguing a point to change the game without ANY evidence to support a need you let yourselves be lumped in so don't expect sympathy. People want to talk like they are experience at leading people yet the first obstacle to their way of doing things they cry for change. A military truth is to succeed you fight with the force you have not the one you wish.

Where does the whole trust bit come from? Basically the KS backers are low level investors in the game and I think the devs have treated that relationship well. As an 'owner' of the game who already got a lot off goodies for my investment I think opening the game to others within EE is only good business. My biggest concern as far as 'fairness' goes would be for the $35 backers who might not be well balanced against latecomers, I was at $100 so am not as familiar with the lower supporter perks.

The biggest issue is making sure that the game is truly ready for an influx before letting others in. As we will already start paying for game time within a few months of EE starting GW's might have more freedom to increase features at that point. What I have seen from others participating in alpha highlights the potential of the game BUT it is not ready for the average gamer yet. The devs know what they are doing and I greatly anticipate the arrival of EE.

P.s. In regards to minimum viable products I made the mistake of paying to try Rust, that was the worst game investment ever. It exemplifies why GW's needs to put in the safeguards it has. I will never play rust again because it is murderhoboville. When GWs releases PFO for EE the reputation system is the most important aspect.

Teribithia9 while this is 100% true these styles of gameplay are not happy acquaintances and will have to be reconciled. Now to continue on a general ramble I look forward to playing with and against everyone here but I will enter the game as soon as EE goes live looking to build the biggest bastion I can within the settlement of BrightHaven. Settlements will need hundreds of people to stand a chance once the system is up and NONE of us has the numbers to stand off the types of tactics I've seen in other PvP games. And this will be a PvP game where you will eventually be someone's target. Sometime after settlement sieging takes place we will get THOSE people in game. Our resident antagonists want to be king of the rock but there exists a subset of gamers that will smash the rock because that's what they do. Ultimately I expect to see people who laugh at the barriers put in place by Goblinworks who create Murderhoboville?sp and destroy everything they can. We can either force Goblinworks to limit their growth or manage this ourselves by working together. In TT the question gets asked why kingdoms have to hire adventurers for anything, in PfO we get the answer. The armies are already engaged in the great Murderhobo wars and don't have time to prune back the escalations and so on and so forth. In my mind the best results for this game would be the Accord forced into a real nation-state the NC the same and the belt of people in the middle either staying small and walking quietly or collapsing into a few large groups. Then we might all have to align against the evil Murderhobos and fight together to keep our collective identity as the founders of PfO. There is so much potential we can realize in this game if we accept our roles within this game.

Where did any of us say locking up a resource node would be bad or unfair? My concerns with PvP are don't attack me because I'm a random guy walking down the road but because I'm a member if TEO and your feuding with TEO and I was alone running to a group who were getting ready to assault one of your POIs when you caught me. They will not be able to eliminate random killings but the system should move most PvP into this kind of scenario which is content.

Lol Nihimon I guess I should have been more specific, TODAY this issue seems to have flared up again though I have seen it in the past. And I have started commenting now that we are in the final stages before and getting an actual game even if it's only a MVP. But I really believe that this system has a good chance of working if the gank style players are drowned out. With so many options for PvP the crying of the people wanting a FFA environment seems completely selfish. Though there are a few here who I think would play great CE villains most who want to play such are in the class the HALO teabagger. If I wanted that experience that's want I will play.

It amazes me to see these posts now like GW has not been clear about what kind of system they want to develop for the game. Well I put my money into the kick starter because they seemed to want PvP to be more than in other games. And I think they have a system that will work reasonably well. It will not be perfect and we have to get in game to see exactly how it works but there are no surprises here.

I have seen this argument for basically a free for all system travel through 3 threads now and my question to those wanting it is simple. With all the options for PvP available to you that wouldn't destroy your rep why do you persist in raging for this one aspect? PvP WILL be integral to the game but the sticking point for the design is that it is based on group conflict and empire building. The devs have told you your gank style play is not their desired flavor of PvP from day ONE. Feud a company if they are merchants and you want their stuff or if you want to smash and grab their resources and infrastructure. What the devs keep telling you is that the random lulz play style is not the purpose of the game. Stop trying to make a case for it not being fair when there has been 100% transparency on this issue.

Yes another goblin! Just be warned you have signed on in "interesting times" and we will TRY to behave ourselves, but... well, we are gamers and self control is not a virtue we possess in abundance. Nonetheless Welcome aboard!

Some people might be surprised when their bellicose actions lead to dead raiders. I'm thinking crafter right now but am more than willing to develop a more martial character... In short bring it, and don't start crying when we hand you your head!

I would like to remind people like TEO Alexander Damocles and Nihimon that if we believe in a policy of non griefing your posts could be counted as griefing and personal attacks to certain individuals and groups in this forum. I believe in the policies you CLAIM to espouse but your actions in this instance are not in line with those policies.
