Why is it so difficult to download things from your website? I click on it to personalize it. I wait my 60 seconds. Click it again....nothing. Again....nothing. Seem like I have to click like a dozen times before I finally get a download.

Example would be the new Alternate Racial Trait for Vesk of Vesk Venom. Can a Vesk Vanguard inflict the Venom on an Entropic Strike?

Working on a Reaction Vanguard and the skill bonus is for Physical Science, but this isn't a class skill. Is there a reason for this? Or was it and oversight?

Can I get an opinion here? I have a Nuar Solarian specializing on charging. Specifically using Stellar Rush.

Now the rules for Stellar Rush state:

Quote:
As a standard action, you can wreathe yourself in stellar fire and make a charge without the penalties

Nuar have an ability called Gore which states:

Quote:
A nuar can charge without taking the normal charge penalties to the attack roll or its AC. If the nuar has another ability that allows it to charge without taking these penalties (such as the charge attack ability from the soldier’s blitz attack fighting style), the nuar also gains the ability to charge through difficult terrain.

So good combo. Not only can you charge for a standard action without penalties but you can do it over difficult terrain.

My question is: would they still have to deal with the movement penalty for difficult terrain?

Quote:
Difficult terrain, such as heavy undergrowth, piles of junk, or steep stairs, hampers movement. Each move into a square of difficult terrain counts as 2 squares of movement. Each diagonal move into a difficult terrain square counts as 3 squares

The Gore doesn't say you ignore difficult terrain like say Nimble Moves

Quote:
You can move through up to 20 feet of difficult terrain each round as if it were normal terrain. This feat allows you to take a guarded step into difficult terrain

I'm leaning toward you still have to use 10' to move 5'. What are your thoughts?

I've been looking over the rules and can't find anything to build just a pure Ace Pilot. Someone that is at home in the cockpit of a space craft. So I came up with this Specialization, please critique.

PILOT

You are at home in the driver's seat.

Associated Skills: Engineering and Pilot. You can spend a Resource point to add your Trick Attack damage to any Pilot roll to preform a Stunt

Specialized Exploit: Holographic Distraction [modified]: You can spend 1 Resolve point before your pilot check to make it appear your vehicle performed 1 Stunt when in actuality you did a different Stunt. While you don't have to roll for the faked Stunt, you still have to roll for the attempted one.

One with your ship(EX): Starting at 11th level you can preform a Snap shot with no penalty as long as you are using a forward facing weapon. You can spend 1 Resolve point to add your Trick Attack damage to this attack.

This order was done on 12/24 and was supposed to ship out with my January monthly titles. It's still sitting in my side car. Why didn't it go out with the January titles if the January title order was done on 1/6?

Pretty simple question. Can you play with promos from other APs other than the 3 promo character goblins?

There is one line in the description of this discovery that has caused a problem in our group. "As a standard action, the alchemist can have the tumor detach itself from his body as a separate creature vaguely resembling a kind of animal suitable for a familiar (bat, cat, and so on) and move about as if it were an independent creature." The question is: Can you change your type of familiar each time you detach it or do you have to define the type of familiar when you take the discovery?

The write-up seems to imply the type of familiar can be changed when you detach it. I know that once it reattaches you get all the abilities of the type of familiar it was when it was an independent familiar, but nothing in the write up says it has to stay that way. The way I read it, that when you do the standard action to detach it, you can define the creature again.

I know that this makes the tumor familiar very powerful because you can basically change your familiar at will. And thus get different benefits depending on the familiar it currently is. But, I still don't see an argument that you can't do this.

Thanks,

The idea is that is it okay for a Paladin to case Infernal Healing on themselves. They specifically took a dip into Bloodrager so they have access to the spell and can cast it from a wand.

Okay, I've tried to do the best search I can on this idea, but I keep coming to this wall that while it would be okay if someone else cast it on the Paladin that it wouldn't impact their code, but it seems like it is 50/50 whether or not it would effect their code if they cast it themselves.

As far as I can tell, the PFS FAQ says that casting a spell with the Evil descriptor isn't an evil act, but how can you reconcile casting a spell on yourself that makes you "The target detects as an evil creature for the duration of the spell and can sense the evil of the magic..." with your Good aligned God that this isn't an evil act.

Maybe if you are a LG Paladin of a LN God, but even that seems like a stretch to me.

Can a Halfling use Recharge Innate Magic under PFS rules?

I am really confused. I was one of the first 2000 to sign up for the Kickstarter. I was promised, "a digital downloadable copy of the Pathfinder Online MMO and an invite to become an Early Enrollee in the Beta". How can we be in Alpha when I haven't had a chance to play in Beta? I know I probably could have done a better job of keeping up with this Kickstarter, but I feel I have done everything asked of me. I've signed up for the website. I've filled out the pledge manager. I've kept everyone up to date with my address and everything but I feel I've just been kicked to the curb. Thread after thread after thread of people playing in Alpha and all I can do is read and wait.

When do I get to play?

Can you please double check that I am getting this in my September order? After the cluster that was the August order I am a little confused with the subscription page. The sidecart shows that it is in there, but then it also shows the Skull & Shackles Base set and the Iron Lords #1, which I already got.

I'm concerned because the subscription section says:

Most recent issue:

Pathfinder—City of Secrets #3 (paizo.com Exclusive) shipped by 07/16/14 via USPS Package Service (estimated 4 to 8 business days in transit)

Next issue:
Pathfinder—City of Secrets #5 (paizo.com Exclusive) will be the next issue to ship

Which doesn't show #4 going out to me. Also, if it is already in stock, why didn't it go out in my August order?

First, I don't know why this order was shipped separately from my normal 'monthly' order [I'll deal with that joke on another thread], but this is the tracking information:

Date Description Location
Dec 16 2013 Package transferred to Post Office COLUMBUS, OH
Dec 16 2013 Ready for post office entry Urbancrest, OH
Dec 15 2013 Package received by dest MI facility Urbancrest, OH
Dec 12 2013 Package transferred to dest MI facility Auburn, WA
Dec 11 2013 Package processed by Mail Innovations Auburn, WA
Dec 11 2013 Package received for processing Auburn, WA

I still don't have it and the the Post Office has had it for a week. This is the second order in 6 months I haven't gotten.

Seriously? How can you have Lini in the game with no Animal Trait Ally card for her animal companion, Droogami?

Liberty's Edge

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

I can't believe I just noticed this, but the free character sheets have all the cards going up to Hook Mountain Massacre. So you can get an idea what new cards we are going to get with sets 2 and 3.

Edit: Boon cards.

I know it might be a little early, but who do you folks want to see in the next character pack?

Personally, I really want to see Lirianne [Gunslinger]. Might be hard to include weapons and items for her though. Next after that would be Damiel [Alchemist]

I think I have this down, but I'm still a little confused because of the demo that I did at GenCon.

The guy that was running the demo seemed to imply that if you have to make a check and miss it, that if there was another PC at that location, they can make the check after yours. For examples: If I miss my check to acquire a boon, then another player can try for me. If I miss on my check to close the location, again another player can try. He didn't seem to include checks against banes, but other checks were swappable.

The more I read the rules and the boards, it seems like the only time another PC can 'help' with a check is if the bane/boon states specifically, This check THEN This check. For example the villain in the attach on Sandpoint adventure [sorry I don't have the card in front of me] that requires first a check against the mount and then the villain. In that case, I have to make one of the checks, but one of the other PCs at the location can make the other check.

Is that correct, what the guy running the demo did correct, or is it some combination of the two?

Edit: Also the rules state that the active PC has to make one of the checks, does it have to be the first one? Example, say I have my PC all lined up for one really good roll, but don't want to waste it on the mount, I want to use it on the villain. Can someone else take out the mount so I can take out the villain?

There are a lot of situations where you are using your cards out of turn. As far as I can tell, you only rebuild your hand at the end of your actual turn. So you could start your turn with less cards then you should, right?

Now that the game is out, is there going to be an FAQ thread?

Also, why is Detect Magic so hard to recharge? It's a 0 level spell and doesn't seem that powerful in the game.

I've got a group that wants to play in an evil campaign. One of the players wants to play a dhamphir so they were looking into his Negative Energy Affinity and how it would hamper their healing. So I decided to see if any other classes/races can also use negative energy to heal. I've come up with a small list:

1. Black Blood Oracle - All black-blooded oracles effectively share the same curse—the curse of black blood. The material affects these oracles physically and mentally, altering both physiology and mystic powers. The blood of a black-blooded oracle actually runs black, and wounds she suffers are infected by her own power and are difficult to heal. She is immune to the effects (both beneficial and destructive) of black blood. Positive and negative energy affect a black-blooded oracle as if she were undead—positive energy harms her, while negative energy heals her (this aspect of the curse has no effect if the oracle is undead). The curse also dulls the oracle’s coordination somewhat, imparting a –4 penalty on all Dexterity-based skill checks. At 5th level, she gains cold resistance 5. This increases to cold resistance 10 at 10th level, and immunity to cold at 15th level.

2. Undead sub-Domain - Death’s Kiss (Su): You can cause a creature to take on some of the traits of the undead with a melee touch attack. Touched creatures are treated as undead for the purposes of effects that heal or cause damage based on positive and negative energy. This effect lasts for a number of rounds equal to 1/2 your cleric level (minimum 1). It does not apply to the Turn Undead or Command Undead feats. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.

3. Race - Wayangs racial trait - Light and Dark (Su): Once per day as an immediate action, a wayang can treat positive and negative energy effects as if she were an undead creature, taking damage from positive energy and healing damage from negative energy. This ability lasts for 1 minute once activated.

Is there anything else that I am missing?

Edit - Found another one, but would have to roll it or I would have to just let the player pick it

4. Variant Tiefling ability - You are healed by both positive and negative channeled energy.

Here is the backstory. I have a player in my campaign that is playing a Sable Company ranged Ranger. At 4th lvl she gets a Hippogriff as an animal companion. At this point everything was okay. Now she has decided she wants to become an Arcane Archer. The plan is to stick with Ranger until lvl 7 to get the enhancement for the Hippogriff. Then take a lvl in Wizard at lvl 8 and finally Arcane Archer at lvl 9. No problem here but now she wants to know if I would let her use Improved Familiar to make her Hippogriff her familiar.

Here is where I am stuck. Fundimentally, I don't have a problem with it, but at what level should I make her wait to use the feat? A normal Hippogriff is a CR 2 monster. Looking at other Improved Familiar that would put it around lvl 7. But as has been pointed out before, an animal companion isn't really a full blooded creature. So would you put it at lvl 5. I could even see a case for lvl 3 because she has already spent so much time with the creature.

So two questions to those better at the rules than me:

1 - Would you let her make her Hippogriff her Improved familiar and at what level?
2 - What type of Wizard [or even would you use Wizard] for her dip for the arcane spells?

Placed on 10/18, Shipped on 10/22, and according to the tracking was transferred to the Columbus PO on 10/26, but I still don't have it.

At what point do I give up on this order?

Okay, this is the second month in a row where you are sending out two AP in the same month.

Is this a new thing because it use to be 1 a month, or are you just catching up? I've budgeted for 1 a month, not 2.

Okay, I need some help from the masses here for some module suggestions for a massive underground campaign.

Little background on the issue. I am taking over a campaign for a novice GM who started us in Curse of the Crimson Throne. The issue is that we have 9 players in the campaign, of which 2 have never played RPG, 2 are new to Pathfinder and really only 2 of the remaining players I would call an 'expert'. Also, we only play like once a month.

So, based on this, I am a little daunted trying to run them through a town heavy campaign like Crimson Throne. I thought was to wisk them away to a mild Underdark adventure. The idea being that they are part of an exibition into the Pre-Underdark, first as scouts and later as the protectors of the whole exibition.

Starting out, a base camp is going to be established in a large cavern...probably after they clear it out and from there they are going to scout and map the pathways off of this cavern. As they clear out areas [and go up in experience] the whole base camp will move deeper and deeper into the Underdark.

Based on this model, I can control the environment, ease them into learning the game, and more importantly still give them the base camp to fall back to for rest and relaxation.

Now, what I need is suggestions of underground modules that I can kinda tack onto the main adventure. Nothing too large, probably 4-5 runs each module, but something I can work with on the fly.

At first I'm looking for stuff in the 2-5 level range and then they will probably move the camp every 5 levels or so.

Thank you for your help in advance.

Sorry, this class is just broken. For example, a lvl 5/5/10 cleric/wizard/mystic theurge is the equivalent to a lvl 15/15 cleric/wizard for spell selection. That means they are able to cast up to lvl 8 spells in both classes and have ton of them to boot.

Yea, they only get up to lvl 5 in their domain and wizard abilities, but their capstone ability of being able to casting two lvl 8 spells in one round along with a quickened lvl 3 spell if you go that route it's sick.

Okay, you can only do it once/day. Still, imagine starting the round w/ a quickened lvl 15 Fireball followed by lvl 15 Polar Ray and Fire Storm [just to go the max damage]. That is like 45d of damage in one round.

How about instead you go w/ a Quickened Haste followed by Summon Monster VIII and then Holy Aura. Hello indestructible group and back up singers.

The combinations are endless.

What happened to the Traits in the Core Rulebook? Figured there would be a listing for them or are they waiting for the advanced rules book?

First let me say, well worth the wait. Awesome production and great storyline. My buddies and I have been waiting for this campaign line to come out to start a new game and they are really down for it.

On the production value, I have to say that I love the artwork most of all. Any chance that we might be seeing a .pdf added to the downloads of just the characters to assist us that want to use them for cardboard minitures?

I can go through and copy from the existing .pdfs but editing out the text is a little annoying. Just a thought.
