Special Qualities: birthmark, gruff watcher, heart of the fey

Human:
Piety (Horror Adventures)
Humans place great trust in the gods to protect them. Humans with this trait receive a +2 racial bonus on Knowledge (religion) checks and Knowledge (religion) is always a class skill for them. In addition, once per day before attempting an attack roll, saving throw, ability check, or skill check, such a human can call out to his deity in order to receive a +2 racial bonus on that roll; he can use this ability only if he is able to speak. This racial trait replaces the bonus feat racial trait.

Heart of the Fey (Legacy of the First World)
Fey-touched humans enjoy senses and reactions superior to those of their kin. These humans receive low-light vision, gain a +1 racial bonus on Reflex and Will saves, and treat Knowledge (nature) and Perception as class skills. This racial trait replaces skilled.

Divine Tracker/Wild Hunter Ranger 1:
Favored Weapon [divine tracker]
At 1st level, a divine tracker becomes proficient with the favored weapon of his deity. This ability replaces wild empathy.

Track
A ranger adds half his level (minimum 1) to Survival skill checks made to follow tracks.

Animal Focus [wild hunter]
At 1st level, as a swift action a wild hunter can take on the aspect of an animal, gaining a bonus or special ability based on the type of animal emulated. This functions as the hunter’s animal focus class feature, though this only applies to the wild hunter and not an animal companion. The wild hunter can use this ability for 1 minute per day per ranger level. This duration does not need to be consecutive, but it must be spent in 1-minute increments. He can only emulate one animal at a time. This ability replaces all instances of the favored enemy class ability.

Appearance:
Sylvak stands just over six feet tall with a solid, wiry frame. His weathered face seems almost at odds with the long, soft golden-blonde hair that frames it. Beneath his vibrant crimson cloak, he wears a fine chainshirt that stands in sharp contrast to the dark leathers of his explorer’s outfit. He carries a bevy of weapons strapped to hips and back and, although he seems friendly enough, there is a hardness behind his pale-green eyes that declares he is ready and willing to use them.

Background:

Sylvak grew up in the icy Lands of the Linnorm Kings, in a loving but secretive family. His father, Orvak, was a descendent of Ulfen raiders, born and raised in Ilizmagorti. After training as a Crimson Mantis assassin, he returned to his fatherland to ply his trade. In Kalsgard, he met Sigrid, a disenfranchised Ulfen girl whose yearning for divine punishment against those that had wronged her opened her heart to embrace his devotion to Achaekek. The two quickly formed deep and abiding bond and Sylvak was the first of three children they bore together.

Having a family tempered Sigrid. She taught her sons and daughter the tenets of the faith, and raised them to revere the One Who Walks in Blood, but she stopped enforcing any divine punishment herself. Orvak, on the other hand, remained committed to his work. This caused some tension between the two, especially as he began accepting contracts that took him away farther from home and for longer.

Shaped primarily by his mother’s more moderate theology, Sylvak, when he came of age, sought out a livelihood in which he could help administer divine punishment apart from the Crimson Mantis organization. This quickly led him to the Pathfinder Society, through which he could travel the world and encounter all manner of creature worthy of death. After training at the lodge for some time, he was contacted by his father and sucked into assisting in a contract. Sadly, this coincided with the completion of his training and his induction into the Society. Now, with the contract complete, he must confess to his new associates that he is not the man they thought he was…
