Subject: V115.04-A "Amanita"
Type: LS.3-OR.115-B.A [Leshy, Fungal; Outer Rifts, Firnadir Forest corruption (see incident V115); Bonded, Arcane]
Security Class: Agent
Physical Description: 3', roughly humanoid body structure. Flesh made of various kinds of fungi, some sections white (similar to Agaricus bisporus), others red pockmarked with white spots (similar to Amanita muscaria). Fungal covering not complete, some sections expose internal structure, constructed of bones of various animals, seems to be primarily those of large quadrupedal mammals (no one species identified) warped and fitted into a humanoid body shape. Head (often not visible, see Connection to V115.04-B) consists of a mushroom head, beneath which sit two black eyes. Mouth invisible when not open for eating.
History: Found near Firnadir Forest monolith after incident V115 was searching the valley, collecting small discarded bits of fur. At the time of initial discovery, V115.04-A was wearing the head of V115.04-B, and told agents that they were looking for "the rest of us". At first, agents assumed they were reffering to the rest of the influenced leshies, or to the corruption itself, but V115.04-A said that was not the case, and that they were looking for "our other body". Agents detected remaining influence of the OR.115 corruption in V115.04-A, and once they located the body of V115.04-B, V115.04-A agreed to return with them for study.
Connection to V115.04-B: It is difficult to determine to what degree V115.04-A and B are seperate entities. They seem to share a single consciousness, but also seem to acknowledge some degree of plurality: when referring to them as a group, V115.04 uses "we", but when referring to either A or B individually, uses "I". The degree to which sensory information is shared is unclear, and depends on the strength of the feeling; things like pain or adrenaline are processed very quickly between the two, but more specific sensory data (sight, touch) has a degree of latency.
It appears that V115.04-A is the focus of thought, but it isn't complete dominance; similar to how two massive objects orbit around a focus seperate from either center. V115.04-A is able to act independently of B, and often it seems as though V115.04-B is like a limb of A which they can flex. However, B has been shown to have some degree of independent will (largely instinctual) that is either overshadowed or absorbed when A and B are not isolated.
When B is not manifested, A has taken to wearing B's head atop themselves, their own "head" largely remaining below the "neck". There is some evidence that while B is not manifested, A retains some of B's instinctual will, but more research is necessary.
It has been theorized (see Report V115.04.023 "V115.04: a Case Study of Fundamental Planar Bonds") that this is in fact nothing out of the ordinary, that this is entirely to be expected for any kind of eidolon-bond relationship that was in place before either the eidolon or the bond had time to form independent consciousnesses. However, this is also hotly contested, with others (see Report V115.04.026 "Outside Influence: a Rebuttal to V115.04 as a Fundamental Planar Bond") speculate that it was the corruptive influence that caused the fusion, though detractors of this theory argue that that is unlikely to be the case, as neither show anything approaching concerning levels of the corruptive influence remaining.
As with many eidolon-bond relationships, the connection offers V115.04-A rudimentary spellcasting capabilities (notably, these only seem to extend to A, and B has not been observed casting spells of their own), seemingly arcane in nature.
Personality: V115.04 is typically very friendly, and willingly takes part in Society experiments regarding their nature, seemingly both out of their own curiosity and genuine enjoyment. In addition to V115.04-B, they have taken a strong interest in dolls and puppetry, becoming quite skilled rather quickly in both the making and operating of puppets. No other puppets either created by or in contact with V115.04 have shown any sign of vitality, but occasionally they do use them as spellcasting foci. This does not seem to be a necessary component of their spellcasting, but they seem to prefer it. They accept any of the following as names:
- V115.04
- V115
- Vee
- Amanita (for V115.04-A)
- Amy (for V115.04-A)
- Needy (for V115.04-A)
Currently, they operate as an agent within the Verdant Wheel.
