Scarab Sages

Male Human Monk 1

Since Solomon isn't using the heavy crossbow, just carrying it, I'd like to have him recover the rapier in his other hand if he's successful.

Scarab Sages

Presuming Solomon still gets the second AoO, he takes it, attempting to disarm the attacker as he passes.

Solomon gave another swift kick, this time aiming at his foe's wrist and basket hilt as the ruffian attempted to get past his guard.

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 VS. CMD (disarm)

And I was attacking the wrong square in my post. There's no one in H1, so he may have adjusted appropriately. That's cool. I'll roll with it. :)

Catching himself and realizing the man on the stairs was his companion, Solomon quickly shifted his route and followed the line of the railing. Taking careful aim, he threw a hard kick at the thug swimming in a mass of thick smoke.

Move to G2, attack H1

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 161d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 81d100 ⇒ 56

Ack! Dangit, sorry for the misread and wasted post. If I can revise, I will.

Solomon quickly realized the man overlooking the room could prove problematic. Seeing his companions' swift work, he made for the stairs, nimbly running up the stone flight. Then, just before he could engage the ruffian, Solomon attempted to leap across the gap, trying to cut off his foe's escape.

Solomon will make a double move to hustle up the stairs and then jump to G1, which will provoke from Human(F1), presuming he is melee-capable/armed, but not Human(H2) because of the smokestick effects

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21 Acrobatics DC is 14-- Acrobatics 10 for 10ft with run, +4 for a maneuver on the stairs.

if I get a total of 13-10, I can check to grab the ledge

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 Reflex DC is 20 to grab the ledge

Solomon kept his crossbow in hand as he bounded forward, his sandals making a soft whisking noise on the stone. In a spinning maneuver, the monk feinted, as if to butt-strike with the stock of the crossbow. Unexpectedly, however, he nimbly sidestepped the blue-skinned creature and attempted to deliver a vicious kick to the base of its hip.

Move to H5, IUS on creature at I5

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 131d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Solomon fired his crossbow into the blue creature clearly in view and prepared to charge into the room...

Solomon's firing at K3

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 121d10 ⇒ 7

Ping?

Scarab Sages

I am on vacation until July 25th and will have limited posting abilities. Assume I shoot/smash/follow along as necessary!

Thanks!

Scarab Sages

Male Human Monk 1

I'm good with that, too. Onward!

Solomon whispered, "We should hold a moment, and allow our eyes to adjust. I can attempt to sneak forward, but I think it would be far more prudent for all of us to very slowly advance. I will try, however."

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

Solomon paused they exchanged the vials, "I've a sunrod, if we want to use it. While it can't be hooded, it also can't be put out." He gestured to a side pocket of his pack. "I keep it here." Reaching into his belt pouch, Solomon pulled a piece of white chalk and reached up as high as he could on the wall. He marked an arrow pointing up, with only half a point on the side matching the direction they walked. He then returned his crossbow to the ready.

He'll do that every 100 feet or so, certainly at any junction.

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20 Perception check.

Solomon unslung his heavy crossbow and loaded it, keeping it at the ready as his companions inspected the items from the derro. Stepping about 20 feet from them, he peered into the swallowing darkness and listened intently for any sign of activity further down the tunnels.

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23 Perception check.

"The four-legged rats do not concern me so much as the two-legged sort, Quioxti." Glancing at a twitching foreleg, the monk sniffed. "Unfortunate that I never learned how to milk a spider. The venom might have been useful." Solomon adjusts his pack and looks down the tunnel. "At least we need not worry about which way to go," he wryly comments, keeping his tone low.

If I can't have Solomon take 10, then:

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 Acrobatics check.

"I am content to begin hunting now. I found the journey restful. I defer to my fellow Pathfinders, though."

Scarab Sages

Solomon bows his head in deference, "My condolences, Captain. The loss of a friend is never easy, and I did not mean to make it more painful. If you are certain there is no political motivation to this act, then we will focus on this abhorrent cult and do our utmost to recover the relic." He sips from his cup, allowing a moment of silence to settle in the room. "Would you recommend we press into the city's catacombs tonight, then, or wait until the morning? Do the local authorities restrict access, or are we free to enter as we please?"

"I am curious about the Countess' demesne. Who inherits, and why would someone want the Countess dead? What was her role in the politics here, and her allegiances? It is possible the thugs in the sewers were nothing more than catspaws?" Solomon steepled his fingers, thinking. "My concern is that we are being used ourselves, covering the tracks of a larger conspiracy. The Lady Patrizia's position within Court and the region merit investigation. Could the succession of Patrizia not serve to to further another's machinations? A clever foe could wield a cult just as easily as a sword." He gestures to the Venture Captain, "Please, ma'am, are you able to add any details regarding the political landscape? I doubt the Lady's unfortunate death should be simply be random handiwork of madmen."

Solomon quirks an eyebrow to his fellow Pathfinders, adjusts his pack and follows the young man through the streets.

Well then, onward to either random thugging or further exposition! :)

Scarab Sages

"Only the current situation truly matters, young Aardron." He adjusts his pack and gestures down the pier, "Please, lead onward and explain what has changed, if you feel you may speak openly." Solomon paid special attention to the rest of the dock as the group walked, watching for strange activity.

Ok, so first time out of the gate here with PFS. Humor me some questions--

a) Is it SOP for us to *not* have a challenge/response phrase, and for us to be openly greeted like this?

b) And do we know, from our mission guidelines, if VC Themis is who we should be meeting?

and if you need it, for Perception:
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Solomon arrives at the doorway, "My apologies, Captain. I was unavoidably detained." He crosses the room in several fluid strides and takes the satchel, "These are the details of our mission, then?" He gives a deferring nod of his shaved head, "I'm certain they will make excellent reading on the vessel." With a subtle smile and a small bow, the Osirian acknowledges the other Pathfinders in the room, "I am ready to depart when you are."

Sorry for the delay, an unexpected double shift left me out of commission today. Shouldn't be an issue going forward.

Also I see the character has the Taldor faction but you mention the Osirian book, just curious what faction you will be running with?

Osirion. I'm just having a heck of a time figuring out how to change it.

EDIT: There we go! Fixed!

Scarab Sages

I'd be willing to join. I've got a level 1 monk-- Solomon Aslan.

I'm new to Golarion's little details, but an old hand at PbP. I'll flesh out the background as we go, if you'll have me.
