ah yeah it is very situational as i said i was just wondering from a rules point of view if it would be possible, it is an extremely difficult situation to pull off and maintain but thankyou for the clarification :)

i thought it might, if there is something that says otherwise then fair enough but the idea could be you could have a potential of 3 or more AoO built characters and 2 of them just greater trip each time providing a technically limitless amount of AoOs which would only end if both failed their trips or they ran out of dex, would take a lot of planning and very situational but the theory is there :D

yeah that is what confused me a little yet, he has not become prone yet and as he is not prone is there something that says he has the tripped condition already and that it stops another one being applied?

I had a look through several of the greater trip threads and noticed that you cannot trip a prone target (found a thread with a dev post on it) due to the AoO happening before the action.

my question then follows... if you have two players with greater trip and combat reflexes (assuming enough dex) and stood in range. one trips an enemy with greater trip (this provokes an AoO for any others in range?) then the second tripper uses his greater trip (as the AoO happens before the action, so the enemy wouldnt be prone yet? (same as the AoO getting up from prone but from stood up)) to trip the target and provoke again, and vice versa till either player and the team runs out of AoOs?

basically, could you have 2 trippers repeatedly tripping before the target falls over to repeatedly provoke for anybody with combat reflexes?

im sorry if this has been covered, there were a lot of trip posts to go through, feel free to redirect me if this has been covered :)
thanks!

Although our group has not reached 13th level yet and are not particularly close i thought i would have a look into building a large as possible synthesist summoner, just for the fun, i have come across a few of questions though:

At 13th level i will be taking the Huge evolution for my eidolon and possible even be casting enlarge person on him (quadruped)

1- with the huge creature evolution can he choose to be smaller or is he always huge without reduce person? (this could be a problem getting into buildings/caves etc..)

2- with the appearance of the eidolon being any fantastical creature could i make its huge/gargantuan appearance longer rather than taller? (i dont see why not, just wanting clarification)

3- with a synthesist, how does he look while within his eidolon? does he have to walk around on all fours if the quadruped eidolon the same size (medium @level 1-8) was described as a wolf like creature? (purely for the appearance of walking through towns)

4- assuming the eidolon has a starting weight of a normal medium creature, (i have roughly assumed 100kgs/220lbs) when he gains a size increase (unless im wrong) the eidolon would be 2x height & 8x weight? do that again for large-huge and then huge-gargantuan and you end up at roughly 51000kgs/110000lbs.. and 40-50ft tall.

the question being: are there rules for if something like this creature fell/jumped/stood on any other being? what kind of damage would that incur? and what kind of saves? (i found the cave in damage but it would probably weigh more and be harder to get out of)

thanks in advance

I have recently been playing a campaign as a level 4 (2/2 paladin, sorcerer) sword and board character, i have managed to reach around 30 AC ish against some giants in a campaign as a halfling.

(I can go into more details if needbe)

But my question is:

I have teammates shooting into combat against these 12-14ft giants (me being 3ft) without precise shot.

The giants have 16AC and i have 30 currently against everything hitting me, ranged or melee.

The DM has said if my teammates miss the giant (roll a total of 14 or so) then i take the damage. Would I not have any save, chance of dodging or deflecting this?

Because if the teammate was actually aiming to hit me he would have to crit but because there is a giant then he just has to roll between 12-15 (which hits the cover (me))?
