Background

Siarani was always known about the town of her birth as being a little on the bookish side. Her family noticed her talent for the arcane arts and collected enough funds to send her off to the arcane colleges of Absolom on her tenth birthday. Growing up away from her family from then on, she blossomed into a pretty but not especially striking young woman. She passed her classes, but was outshone by many of her peers in that area, and eventually graduated as an 'unremarkable' wizardess, distrusted because of her decision to focus on the mind (and the various ways to control and manipulate it). She also spent some time among the social life of the city, learning the way of the socialite she was sure she was expected to be. Even in this she practiced her subtle magics, although only in the least detectable of ways. However, shortly before graduation, her family sent word recalling her home immediately. Left with little choice, she followed her commands, only to learn that, according to her family, her education had sent them into crushing debt, leaving them, not penniless, but certainly much less than nobles 'should' be. They quickly pressed an adventuring charter into her hands and ordered her to go off in an effort to make up 'her share' of the family wealth quickly.

She was disgusted by their naked greed, but never realized just how deeply in debt her parents had put themselves to pay for her stay in the City at the Center of the World. Considering this to be a rather foolish move, but still indebted, she agreed to take a charter to explore the Stolen Lands. This shouldn't take long, and then maybe she can return to her studies in peace.

Description:

Siarani is a human woman who appears to be in her early twenties. She conceals most of her body underneath a long cloak, but underneath that one can see a practical outfit consisting of trousers and a simple, homespun shirt. In between she has on a vest, probably purchased at some expense from the fashions favored by the Pathfinder Society. While not pretty, the functional leather garment is covered in pouches filled with various bits and bobs. She wears her long, brown hair in a tight braid that can be easily put up out of the way, and can habitually be seen carrying a heavy-looking backpack. The only bit of jewelry she wears is a golden pendant hung around her neck, an unusually large, but flawed, ruby set in the middle, worn over her cloak so it can be easily removed. She appears to be unremarkable, attractive but not exactly stunning. Still, there is a compelling glint in her dark eyes and, when she speaks, something strange about her voice that makes her difficult to ignore.
