About Seishin Sasayaki

Appearance: Seishin stands at 3'3" and weighs 37lbs. He is slightly stronger than the average Gnome, but his physical build seems to be more focused on agility and hardiness. His face bears a copper Shoanti tattoo which reflects his skill and passion for performing seances, but is otherwise young and full of wonder. His skin is a dull goldenrod, and his eyes are a bright silver flecked with gold when not channelling a spirit, and seem to fade to pale orbs of molten silver. His unkempt wild silver and white hair pokes up in every direction and seems to be tinged with small pale blue wisps when he is channelling a Kami.

Seishin wears a goldenrod robe design with intricate patterns resembling Kami and spirits, with a green clasp carved in the design of Tsukiyo's holy symbol. He wears leather breeches and fine geta, and keeps a odd number of baubles as rings. He wears his armor under his robe, and wears a white undershirt underneath his armor.

Personality: Unlike most Gnomes, Seishin is quiet, and tends to be soft-spoken and quite polite. He has a respect for elders, history, and the dearly departed. He is quick to make friends, and tends towards talking as opposed to fighting. If forced into a fight, Seishin tends to fall to the pack and support his allies with buffs and his longspear. Seishin's personality seems to oddly shift at times, where he will range between a stern whisper to a angered shout, and when asked he says that the Kami he channels is speaking with him and he is scolding the Kami. To most this may appear as insane or schizophrenic behaviour, but those with a more intricate knowledge of his abilities may sympathize with his plight.

Biography: Seishin was born in New Oppara, but early in his life his parents left him, though in what manner he has no knowledge. He was adopted by a an elder Shoanti woman, who had settled in New Oppara after a successful life of adventuring. He was raised to be respectful of the spirits of the land, and to follow his passions. He received a tattoo from her when he discovered his passion in life.

Unlike others around him, Seishin seemed to connect and interact with the spirits and Kami who dwelled around New Oppara, and he was soon discovered by the elderly Samsaran who dwelled within the Temple of the Unbound Knot, who shared a similar skill. Seishin was quickly taken under his wing, and was taught how to commune with the spirits and Kami. He found that he had a knack for seances and helping others say their final goodbyes to loved ones. Seishin found himself quite content in life, even though he was still quite young.

When new Pathfinders arrived in New Oppara, Seishin realized that there was something wrong, though he didn't know how, he felt that something terrible was to occur in the next few weeks. After the Pathfinders returned from their mission, he found that his feeling was sound, as the passing of his mentor coincided with the passing of his adoptive mother, and he was without a leading figure in his life. But, instead of being alone, he soon discovered he was able to bond closer with the Kami with whom he communed.

The Pathfinders were soon sent off into the Zhi Ha mountains, as a dark storm loomed above much of the continent. In the days following their departure, Seishin communed with a strange Kami, who claimed to be the reincarnation of the spirit of Rianon of Minkai, one of the past lives of his former mentor. Seishin spent several weeks forming a strong bond with this Kami, learning much of this past life, as well as the ways of a cleric, and this influenced the young Gnome into becoming a Pathfinder himself, and soon ended up being sent to the Inner Sea Region as a representative of the Lantern Lodge.
