"I'll take the wand, Ting," Sefu says. "Let me see if I can identify its potential use."

The magus takes the wand, if offered, and gives it a once over, turning it about in his hands and muttering intelligible words under his breath.

Sefu scratches his head and offers the wand to one of the other casters.

"Sorry, I can't quite zero in on its specific properties," he says. "Perhaps one of you could take a look."

Two successful DC10 Spellcraft checks to aid Sefu and we've got this wand identified.

Seeing that there is but one skeleton remaining, Sefu steps forward beside Alexos and follows his lightning-fast flurry of punches with a strike of his own magically-enhanced blade.

I seriously doubt that will be necessary - it would be difficult to engage in melee combat against the pile of splintered bones Hans likely just created.

Hearing the sounds of battle, Sefu works his way around and through his companions until he standing at the back of the chamber with an unfettered view of the skeleton. The magus conjures necromantic positive energies into his free hand and stretches it toward the alchemically resurrected fiend, hoping to return the skeleton to its eternal slumber.

"Well placed blow, Hans!" Sefu says, wiping the blood from his gleaming blade with a cloth from the alchemist's workbench.

Though the barbarian's technique was unformed, it was certainly effect. With all threats destroyed, the magus casts detect magic and searches the room for anything of interest, whether of the academic or financial nature.

Once again, Sefu's khopesh sizzles with arcane energy as he steps into the chamber intending to cut down the zombie before him. However, upon breaching the corridor, the magus spots a strange man - the likely originator of the fire bomb that struck Alexos - and so he turns on a dime to strike at him with his shining blade.

"A true warrior fights with steel, alchemist!" Sefu shouts.

Just to be clear, Sefu's attack and damage are affected by his arcane pool and Felicitas's bardic song.

In order to reconcile Alexos's melee attack versus the skeleton, should we assume Ting took a 5-foot step north on his turn and Alexos took a 5-foot step northeast before the monk attacked? Otherwise, I don't see how Alexos could have attacked without moving and taking an AoO as he moved past Ting.

Sefu watches as Hans and Ting reduce two skeletons to piles of bone as he dashes past them. Stopping beside Felicitas in the middle of the long chamber, he conjures an orb of positive energy, which sizzles and flares around his outstretched fist.

"Come out from hiding and meet your true end, abominations!" he shouts down the hall at the remaining skeletons.

Move: Move 30 feet.
Standard: Ready casting of disrupt undead against first skeleton to come into range.

@Ting - You don't have to do a beginning adventure like "The Confirmation" to have an official PFS character. That said, thematically its nice if it works out that way. "The Confirmation" has a specific boon that is helpful to brand new characters and provides early access to a decent selection of inexpensive magical gear. Most of my PFS characters, however, did not start out with a beginning adventure and I just consider them as having completed their Confirmation before ever being dispatched on their first mission.

Usually I'd say you shouldn't move someone's token unless you know they don't have regular access to the map. I know that I will post my exact movements and ask for help if unable to move my token myself. And sometimes I just forget to move.

Hearing that the trap will reset, Sefu hustles into the central chamber.

"Ting may be on to something," Sefu says, pulling some trail rations from his backpack. "Let's see if this is enough to trigger the trap."

Standing a good six feet away from the statue closest to the tengu, the magus tosses the pouch of dried fruits and meat at it, hoping to trigger the trap.

If this fails, Sefu will suggest retrieving the dead sinspawn for a second attempt.

"I can take a look at those potions before we enter the unseen passage," Sefu says, accepting the bottles if and when they are offered to him.

The magus casts detect magic on them and then scrutinizes their contents, holding each up to the light of his wayfinder and gently swirling them about.

Sefu takes a quick step behind Ting, taps himself with his wand of shield, and hitches back onto his haramaki. With khopesh in hand and magical shield floating before him, the magus calls out to the creature and his companions.

"Make way," Sefu says. "Let this lustful stain taste my blade!"

I neglected to mention Sefu having his khopesh and wand drawn and ready (as well as his wayfinder open and illuminated) at all times. If you prefer it, his move action this turn could be to draw his wand instead of putting it away. For such a sword-centric character, I figure it's a given that in a creepy dungeon he'd have his khopesh drawn at all times.

"I assure you this sword is where any resemblance or connection to my father begins and ends," Sefu says, somewhat haughtily. "I would, however, be happy to take a look at those stones for you."

The magus takes the stones in his hand and casts detect magic on them. If he detects any magical auras, he'll maintain the spell until he's able to identify their nature. Finally, he'll apply his expert's eye to them to infer their purpose and properties, if any.

"I, too, am anxious to begin," Sefu says.

Sefu assesses the words and appearance of his companions - a Northman and a Tengu. Between the two of them and running an errand for a bunch of priests, this mission was already bursting with new experiences for the young magus. He only hoped working with Hans and Ting Tang would be more tenable than wearing the yoke of Pharasma.

"Well met, the both of you," Sefu says, extending a hand of welcome to each in turn. "And I can assure you I will not get in your way when it comes to traps, Ting Tang. I tend to stick to fighting, though I have a few surprises up my sleeve. Spent quite a bit of time at the Occularium in Manaket learning the arcane arts before being called into family service with the Pure Legion. My duty to family and nation fulfilled, I am now free to spend my time as I choose. Obviously, I chose a different species of service altogether in the Society."

FYI - Sefu is 6'1", leaner than your typical fighter, and in his early thirties. He has the tan skin and swarthy features typical of Garundi men, and only the slightest hint of his native accent peaks through his academic tone when he speaks. If you were to fail to notice all of these things, however, you would not be the first. All eyes are naturally drawn to the ornate and otherworldly golden khopesh hitched to the wide silk-and-brass-plated haramaki Sefu wears upon his waist.

"And you, Alexos," Sefu says, gripping the monk's wrist while filling the man's hand with his own. "Completing such a dire task is made warmer by the company of familiar faces. But what of our new companions? What experience will they bring to cleansing the dungeons of the Ossuary and revealing its terrible mysteries?"

The magus lets out a sigh of relief when the church's representative dismisses the notion that the Society would be responsible for removing the bodies. Recovering religious relics for the sake of study was one thing, but participating in any divine sacrament was abhorrent to Sefu's very nature as a veteran of the Pure Legion.

I considered taking a piece of the gelatinous cube to raise as a familiar, but thought better of it. Glad one of us took a souvenir.

"Seems like a dangerous favor to ask the Society," Sefu says. "Let us hope there are enough findings of interest within the Ossuary to justify such a task. Tell me, what nature of monsters or threats should we expect to encounter within the dungeon? And why clear them now? I considered a wand of infernal healing, but it'd go against my alignment, backstory, and personality to actually use it.

I have, however, purchased a wand of shield, which I do not plan to be selfish with.

I LOVE Crypt of the Everflame, so much so that I am currently running it PbP on this very site. I would still love to play it, but would need to keep my character knowledge and player knowledge separate throughout, which would be hard to do. Sefu, however, is not the puzzle-solving sort, so he could just take a back seat when faced with that kind of stuff.

Just wanted to take a moment to compliment Touchy. He is the best portrayal of a low charisma character I've ever seen. Most people just dump a stat and then forget to have that come out in their roleplaying. I love how Touchy's personality is more defined by his low charisma than his stronger stats. Plus, the creep factor with him is a welcome bit of humor to my day. Looking forward to more adventures with him.

"Touchy, thank goodness for your quick thinking," Sefu says. "If it weren't for that tanglefoot bag you threw, I don't know if we could have stood toe-to-toe with a minotaur and lived to tell the tale!"

Sefu will take a closer look at the minotaur, both out of curiosity and to make sure it is indeed dead.

"Curious for such a beast to be lumbering about here on the island," he says to himself, crouching for a closer look.

Sefu almost felt bad for the minotaur as Alexos and the magus teamed up against the entangled beast. Gripping his khopesh with two hands, Sefu swings his weapon at the minotaur will all his might.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 20
Damage: 1d8 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 1 + 1 = 10

I wasn't sure if Felicitas was still buffing us, so subtract 1 from my attack and damage if she has ceased her performance. I also took it upon myself to move Alexos into flanking position as he described in his own post.
