Savidus looks about the empty room for a moment before sighing deeply and heading to his room. Looks like it's time to get armored up.

Savidus pulls back his hand as Nesswen retrieves hers, almost as though he'd forgotten he had been holding it. He watches the elf go, then turns his head to look at Zanian. "Looks as though your desire to get up on a roof will work well." He stands as well, stretching his hands up to the ceiling. "Next time it might be better though if we all managed to keep our tempers long enough to make a plan together," he comments off-handedly. "Can you pass the plan along to Yuki?" he asks, glancing over to Prevara.

"So then, we go into the Despora, find a good place, and wait for night to fall? And have a backup involving some fire?" Savidus leans back in his chair thinking. "Some Alchemist's Fire would do I should think. We could throw it into the area if we needed to."

"I think we all admire your determination to help, Nesswenn," Savidus' low voice rumbles in what is probably a placating tone for the man. "I think we just disagree on how best to go about it. He shifts a bit closer to the fuming woman. "I haven't been in this city for long, not as long as the old woman, but longer than most of you. I grew up here. I've never heard of a lair of these beasts. Nor have I heard of any consistency in the killings. If that were the case, the dotari would have focussed their searches to those areas or only cordoned off those areas." He pauses, thinking. "But the old woman's story does tell us a couple things. That we should have been able to figure for ourselves. If we want to make sure we find one, the sewers or the Dospera are good places to look. Not only are they filled with shadows even during the day, but they have the least dottari presence in the city."

His eyes search out the elf's as he very awkwardly places his hand reassuringly on hers. "We've only known each other for a week, it'll take some time to understand how we all best work together."

By far it's the most words he's ever said to any of you at one time.

Savidus looks sideways at the tiefling with a bit of surprise. "That could be very dangerous."

"From what I've heard, it's pretty rare to see one and live. So I'm not sure how we're going to get this information," Savidus rumbles, leaning his elbows on the table. "It seems they come out at night... stick to the shadows where they can't be seen, and attack people who come in. So I think our best bet is to just pick somewhere that's out of the lamplight at night."

Savidus nods at the mention of the Bastards of Erebus. "Let us take one thing at a time for now, however."

He then turns his dark eyes to Zanian, waiting.

Savidus humphs softly then follows, shaking his head. Of course he's coming, he was the one who said they should get going after all.

As they walk back he leans over to Zanian. "So you are in this for the long haul then? Working to 'liberate the people'? You aren't even from this city... do you mind if I ask why you care?"

Though he's talking to Zanian, he certainly can be heard by everyone.

"We should probably get back to our friends, if just to discover if there is anything else they need us to accomplish immediatly."

Savidus says nothing, standing back behind everyone else and frowning intencely. He has no tolerance for people like this but he is wise enough to know that nothing will be gained at this point from him saying what he really wants to say. So he lets the more diplomatic members of his companions do their part.

When Nesswen starts trying to pick the lock, Savidus stands clear. He's well aware that at this point he would just be getting in the way. Instead, he goes to check on Yuki, making sure that she is ok.

"Hidden places?" Savidus' incredulous tone is obvious even through his helm. "Unless you really want to take all his armor and clothes off I really can't think of one," he answers before going back to trying to force open the door.

Was that a joke?

"I don't think most of these men are going anywhere any time soon. Besides, I'd like to be long gone before that would be necessary."

Seeing Yuki's wound heal before his eyes gives Savidus a moment of pause. It isn't hard to realize he hadn't expected anything like that to happen. He recovers quickly though, his militaristic training kicking in. Hurrying to the door of the carriage he tries the door, which is of course locked.

"Prevara, see if that Hellknight had any keys on him," he calls out as he starts to see if he can force the door open any other way.

Strength Check 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

It's hard to get good leverage on it, however, and his efforts are rather futile.

Seeing Shanwen fall Savidus makes his way around the carriage towards Yuki, bringing his sword around at the first of the Armigers he comes across. The one enamored of Yuki.

To Hit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (6, 5) + 4 = 15

The blade slices cleanly through the man's side, carving out a wound from which the man is unlikely to recover without magical aid. SAvidus barely misses a beat as the man falls, his sights already set on the last remaining Armiger.

This guy's at -6

Yuki's Turn.

Savidus continues his charge but the attack must have slowed him more than he believed as his sword imbeds itself harmlessly into the wood of the driver’s seat.

Yuki's Turn

Savidus comes around the opposite corner of the bridge from Prevara, his heavier armor slowing him down. He sets his grim gaze upon Shanwen, determined to capture and hold the Hellknight's attention so the others can devote their full attention to the less experianced Armigers.

Savidus is the last person to make it out, mostly because it takes him the longest to get armored. When he does come out, he is fully armored, helmed, and gauntleted with his greatsword slung across his back under a makeshift white cape. That should be enough to separate him from the other hellknights.

It takes a bit to find a horse sturdy enough to carry his weight at speed, but he is outfitted just like the rest and within the hour they are nearing the ambush site.

"I will make it obvious which I am," Savidus offers. "However I think I should wait before stepping out, until after the outriders have been un-horsed. Else they may be called back. I do agree that the bridge is an excellent location, but I also think it will be impossible to time it perfectly enough to catch them ON the bridge. There is a series of events to consider. Janiven's group jumping out, the mounted guards spurring forward, the time it takes for them to reach the caltrops, and then them dropping. I would advise waiting at least until they are almost on the caltrops before launching our own attack." He pauses and shrugs. "I just don't see how we can count on catching them on the bridge. I think we should attempt to trap them on one side or the other. Perhaps on the far side opposite the un-mounted guards to give us more time before reinforcements arrive."

"Whatever we do, we need to decide quickly. Time is passing and from what Janiven has said, I don't think we have much of it. Certainly not enough to gather any more complicated trap materials than the caltrops we have."

Savidus smiles back and nods. "I would be more than willing to present myself obviously to draw attention from the rest of you."

Savidus gives a curt nod and immediately moves to follow. This is the kind of thing he came here for after all. And he, perhaps more than anyone, knows what awaits Ariel in Citadel Ravid.

Savidus looks at Zanian with a confused expression as the tiefling exits. Now where in the world did that come from? Chalking it up to yet another crazy companion (Which makes three now, at least Yuki seems sane) he heads out to the sanctuary.

Placing the half-washed dish back in the sink, Savidus turns immediately to leave. He pauses only to dry his hands off on a towel and to allow any women to exit in front of him. Ever the gentleman.

Savidus turns to watch Nesswen go with a deep sigh. He really hadn't meant to offend her. Perhaps he should talk to her later...

He takes the dishes he's aquired over to the sink and proceeds to wash them, as well as Nesswen's and any others that had accumulated there. Finished with his brakfast as well, Larko joins him, drying and placing them back in their proper places.

Savidus listens to the talk but offers nothing in the way of his opinion. He really couldn't care less what the group calls themselves. He's still not sure exactly why he's here, except that there really didn't seem to be anywhere else to go that might give him any chance of helping the situation in the city at all.

Savidus' clears his throat and stands, gently extricating himself from Nesswen's advance. "Armor is only to be worn for combat, ma'am," he answers matter-of-factly. He looks to everyone else at the table, silently but obviously asking if there is anyone else whose plate he can take to the sink, even as he continues talking to Nesswen. "If one wears it constantly it is likely to get damaged or worn out before its time. Not to mention that it is by no means light or comfortable."

Savidus is, whether purposly or accidently, completely oblivious to it all. As far as he knows, Prevara's just a little odd. Which, of course, is true regardless.

Savidus might not have heard Nesswen's whispered comment because the look he gives Prevara as she laughs herself out of her chair is one of utter confusion. He's starting to think the girl might not be right in the head. But then, maybe that's just a trait of Tieflings. He's never hung around any after all. Instead he focusses on Nesswen for a moment, after all she did ask where he was, and gives her a soft "Good morning." before going back to his food. Zanian earns a manly silent nod of greeting in return before the taciturn man goes back to his food.

Savidus stands again as Nesswen enters and perhaps might have raised an eyebrow at her tight clothing but goes right back to his food with singular focus. He already knows that he's managed to hook up with some unusual people and at this point doesn't think anything they did could surprise him.

He looks closer to terrified by Prevara's hug than he ever did in the sewers fighting zombies and getting chased by Hellknights.

He recovers a bit, giving Prevara an awkward pat on the back hug. "Yes... It is." He extricates himself as politely as possible then takes a seat and begins to fill a plate with eggs, bacon, and bread. He's a big guy after all, takes a lot of food to keep all that muscle going.

When Yuki enters he stands politely, but says nothing, sitting back down to his food immediately.

A shadow passes over the doorway as Savidus comes walking in. He is dressed now in simple clothes of gray and brown, and armed only with a long dagger at his waist. It's a sharp contrast from the previous evening that makes him almost unrecognizable as the same man. He nods to everyone in the room, a motion that becomes closer to a bow towards the two women, murmering a goodmorning to each before making for an empty chair at the table.

Savidus takes the room with Kalvek and his wolf as his roommates. He allows the women to bathe first taking the time to remove his bulky armor, sit calmly, and pray while he waits. He holds a small token clenched in one hand as he prays and does not respond to anyone until finished. Once bathed he is more amenable, but still not very forthcoming.

Savidus comes up near to last, lumbering up the last few rungs and squeezing his bulk through the small grate only to find Janiven already moving off. With a small grumble he stands up to his full height, his back cracking in protest, takes a deep breath, then moves off after.

"Think nothing of it," Savidus answers Yuki before taking up his position in the marching order once more.

Savidus gives Prevara a nod of respect before motioning for her to follow after Janiven ahead of him.

Savidsu stops immediatly where he is as Prevara issues her warning. He is well aware of the noise he makes and is perfectly willing to give up some position to ensure the party makes no more noise than they already have.

"Well if we don't, we can always eat what passes for rats in this place," Savidus grumbles, kicking a torble down the tunnel as he shoulders his way through the door.

Savidus take s step back as the path over the trash is large enough and brushes stray pieces of refuse off of his armor before motioning for Prevara to go first. After all, she is on point.

Savidus rolls his eyes as the thrown sack catches on a spike of his armor. Tossing it off and to the side he strides forward, gently but insistantly pushing Prevara out of the way. His large hands scoop garbage out and back, shoveling the refuse out of the way and letting those behind find something to do with it.

"We need to decide what we're going to do, quickly. Standing here looking at it doesn't help us. Do we move it? Or go back and try to go around? I don't see any other options."

Savidus says nothing as the group marches on, concentrating instead on trying, as much as possible, to keep his armor from making too much noise. This, combines with having to crouch everywhere, is making for a pretty irritable looking man.

Still, he doesn't complain. He just keeps pressing on.

Savidus looks over to Nesswen as he wipes his sword off on a piece of black cloth pulled from his belt. "Are you ready to continue?" His voice is flat, not sounding so much concerned for her health as checking on the status of a fellow soldier.

Savidus growls at the pests and takes a step back, into the tunnel that they had come out of, sweeping his longsword out of it's sheath at his waist. With a grim smile he brings it down, pinning one of the vermin to the stone floor and puncturing it's bloated belly.

Another one bites the dust.

Savidus is all buisness as he hurries the women through the tunnel. As Kalvek pauses, the man meets the half-orc's eyes and gives a short nod before muttering something either to himself or just Kalvek. He then turns and assits Janiven as best he can.

As the delaying tactics complete he trundles into the passage as well, Janiven right behind.

Kalvek:
He muttered "Iomedae protect us."

Savidus rises, snatching his sword and throwing the strap over one shoulder as he walks first to the window to risk a quick glimpse outside, and then hurridly after Janiven. He seems no more eager to risk capture than anyone else, but makes no move to head into the tunnel first. "I will help Janiven to cover the escape," he says in a hoarse whisper. He then turns to Nesswen, "You should go."

Savidus reaches out towards the sword he had leaned against the wall, his eyes focusing on the door before flitting about the room looking for any other exits.

Savidus deffinitly notices Nesswen's look, but his attention is focussed on Janiven. "Bold words. But words do not help anyone. They must be backed by deeds. And the words you are speaking would likely require violent ones."

He does not appear concerend that anyone might worry about his trustworthyness. Perhaps he doubts himself why they would.

Savidus gazes intently at each person as they make their introduction, but says nothing in response. Clearly this is a ragtag group of people and he's fairly certain that each of them has something more than what they've said. Except perhaps for Pavara. She seems to have laid just about everything on the table with the possible exception of long walks on the beach and dancing in the rain.

As Yuki sits he turns to Janiven, their host, expecting far more from here than anyone else. After all, she has yet to define a reason for bringing them here.

As the plates are being taken away Savidus looks once more at everyone else then clears his throat slightly. "Perhaps introductions would be a good start. My name is Savidus, former Hellknight Armiger of the Order of the Chain." He takes a deep breath as he leans back, folding his hands in his lap. "I say this not to brag, for it is not a thing I am nessessarily proud of. But I do believe that openess will serve us well. It is obvious our host means to ask us to work togeather, and a squad without secrets is one unafraid to offer his full attention to the enemy."

(OOC: An Armiger would be like a squire or a trainee)

Savidus joins in the near silent meal, though he does pause to say a brief prayer over it. As everyone eats he takes some time to look about the table in an appraising way, but as no one seems inclined towards talk he leaves it at that. Really he wouldn't know what to say, regardless. It does seem, though, that if they've all been asked to be here they must all have something in common. Even if they do appear to be vastly disparate.

Savidus does catch the looks from both the half-orc and the cowled woman. Hard to miss with the glowing eyes and the obvious nods. At first he scowls only for a moment before a sort of forced and uncertain smile comes to his face. Like someone who is trying out something new. He holds up a hand to offer a slight wave but says nothing.

Kalvek:
You spot a holy symbol of Iomedae tucked in a fold of his armor, obviously being kept where it wouldn't be immediately seen.

Savidus notices the woman shrink from him and he moves over to give her some more room. His eyes, do not stay on the woman, however she might act. Rather, they fasten on the cloaked woman and the half-orc, watching them with a curious expression.
