Female Half-Elf Transmuter 3

After being accepted into the employ of the Gold Goblin, Samaritha bows. "Thank you. I shall certainly keep an ear out for any news from the Cypher Lodge. Although admittedly, your friend there seems to have more pull with them than I do. Still, I will do what I can. Thank you, again, for hiring me. I'll do everything I can to earn my keep."

"I'll keep this in mind if I need somebody killed, something stolen, or nefarious misdeeds otherwise accomplished," Samaritha says, holding up the card. "So, off to the Cypherlodge?"

"I'm still not convinced that they're directly related. But, if your duties here won't suffer too much from your absence, then I suppose you can join us."

Samaritha looks askance at Skorabor, then turns back to Barnabus. "Perhaps they do know something. Perhaps if myself, Vesara, and Mr. Valentinez Alkalinella Xifax Sicidabohertz Gombigobilla Blue Stradivari Talentrent Pierre Andri Charton-Haymoss Ivanovici Baldeus George Doitzel Kaiser III went to the Order of Cyphers, we could figure out what is going on without disturbing the rest of your work." She gives another pointed glance at the Dwarf. "And we wouldn't be endangering any more of your customers."

Samaritha stares at Skeith nonplussed. Then, shaking off the impact of the introduction, she replies, "Samaritha Beldusk. I assume I'm to use your full name when addressing you in conversation?"

Turning to Skorabor, "If you're referring to the purple mist, I really have no idea. My spells have never done that before, and I gather that neither have your companions spells. Perhaps you'd like to try one to see if you can gather some insight we have not?"

"Seems that my magic isn't the only one that's acting oddly, then. I wonder how widespread this is, and what's causing it." Samaritha glances oddly at Davlamin's comment. "Do you have some idea about what's going on?"

"Well, as I was telling your friend, my training is primarily with transmutation magics. I have some other training as well. As for what I can do, I was thinking that I might be able to do some work as a server or a greeter while I wait to hear back from the Cyphermages. I have a couple of things I could do that might make things entertaining for your customers."

Repeating her earlier trick, she points at and levitates over a tray of drinks momentarily set down on a table 20 feet away or so. Oddly, a purple mist begins tracing the path from her fingertip to coalesce under the tray, forming a cloud-like pillow for the tray to rest on. Although startled, Samaritha keeps the tray in the air and brings it to a resting float in front of Vesara. "The mist is new. I've never seen that happen before. Still, it's interesting. I wonder why it's doing that."

"I'm not local, and that's part of the problem I'm running into. I came up here from Magnimar several weeks ago. I'd heard about the Cyphergate Riddle and I was hoping to become a cyphermage. Unfortunately, since they're not taking on apprentices, if I can't find a job soon I'm going to use what money I have left to return to Magnimar."

Upon being introduced to Vesara, Samaritha's eyes light up. "Ah. Very nice to meet you. I'm assuming, since you are here to, as he puts it, 'assess my aptitude,' you are a mage of some sort? Am I to demonstrate my abilities?"

"Well, I'm a Transmuter by training. I'm sure I'd be well able to wait on tables or something. Perhaps add a little bit of flair to it, too." Pointing her finger at a deck of cards sitting on a nearby table, she lifts her hand and beckons. The cards float to her, and she begins to shuffle them expertly. She hands the deck to Davlamin, smiling.

"I would need a place to stay, unfortunately. Might I be able to arrange to stay here, should I be hired?"

Two days into your second week of working at the Gold Goblin, a subtly beautiful Half-Elf woman comes in and asks to be directed to a member of the management. Upon being greeted by whoever is in charge of the help this week (Davlamin?), she says, "Hello, there. I'm Samaritha Beldusk. I was wondering if you have any open jobs that I could work at. I'm waiting to hear back from the Cyphermages. I'm hoping to become an apprentice. Unfortunately, I'm running out of money while I'm waiting so I need a job."
