Background:

Rubin was raised more by the citizenry of New Stetven than by his parents. He never knew his father, and his mother just didn't have that much attention to give her bastard son, even had she chosen to. Fortunately, and probably due mainly to good luck, a large number of well-intentioned neighbors and acquaintances took an interest in this unusual child, providing him valuable opportunities to learn various skills, and more importantly an optimistic outlook on life and a sense of right and wrong. Young adulthood finds Rubin a jack-of-all-trades with seemingly boundless energy for an eclectic mix of endeavours. Only a year ago he set off from his hometown to see something of the world, and found himself in the humble but rapidly growing settlement of Jasper. Finding his skills in need, and decently recompensed, he hasn't yet left to continue his journey. Currently, he serves as a night sentry in the Town Watch, where his Elven heritage is a great asset in detecting any hint of trouble. He spends most days at the Blue Salamander, where besides serving the clients, he also entertains them with epic ballads and hilarious skits. Not to mention his previous brewing experience, which has been a help in keeping the clientele returning for the best ale in 100 miles, which may not be saying much after all. Any other spare moment is spent apprenticing at Leafly's shop, learning to make bows and arrows. He shows decent promise in this craft, though less in wielding them. Amongst all of this, he still finds time to sleep four or five hours per day.
