About Sagalikitak

- Appearance -
Sagalikitak is a slight person with a curious demeanor and a kind smile. Their soft Eritaki features look somewhat masculine, but with icy white-blue complexion. The worn sealskin of their anorak is hand-etched with intricate tribal designs featuring stars, moons, and butterfly wings. The design of their clothing matches their tattoos, which decorates most of their visible skin.

Instead of a hood, Saga wears a decorative shawl of heavy wool dyed the deep green of seaweed. Talismans of bone, soapstone, and ivory are woven into the heavy garment which looks ritual, but practical. With plenty of spears and a starknife ready at their hip, they look prepared for a journey across the Crown of The World, or perhaps an ice fishing expedition.

Height 5'6"
Weight 155

- Backstory -
In the midst of the polar night, a morozkos (hungry storm) fell upon a new mother's igloo. The shelter was destroyed by demons, sending the desperate mother fleeing into the arctic midnight. Lost and alone in the vast icy landscape, the mother feared that her frozen newborn would never wake. But the gods intervened.

Moonlight led the mother pool of temperate water, and the mother offered her frozen child to the glacial flow.

Sagalikitak's survival against the supernatural blizzard was not only responsible for their physical transformation, but led them to a life far beyond the dreams of their tribe. Although their many travels along the Path of Aganhei sated the pilgrim's curiosity for a time, the need for greater knowledge would lead the Erutaki far from the icy lands of their birth.

SAGALIKITAK AND THE COSMIC CARAVAN

~Desna~
Desna is a primary deity in Sagalikitak's tribe. The Goddess of the North Star watches over stargazers, dreamers, and travelers, all of which resonate deeply in the Varki culture.

~Tsukiyo~
Sagalikitak has long attributed their death, rebirth, and aquatic transformation as a newborn to an intercession by the Prince of the Moon. Sagalikitak believes deeply in Tsukiyo's teachings and methodologies. They believe gentle guidance is a beautiful way of interacting with those seeking meaning and their place in the world.

~Pulura~
At 16, Sagalikitak's first pilgrimage across the Shining Sea with a group of Puluran adherents became a formative life event. They regularly offer prayers to the Shimmering Maiden when they feel homesick, always remembering the beauty of the northern lights.

~Black Butterfly~
Many Erutaki ritual spirit quests demand that supplicants undertake a trek across dark silent stretches of the world's Crown. Sagalikitak's early spiritual education involved many such journeys, where tribes make offerings to the Black Butterfly for guidance. As Saga travels take them farther from home, they find silent moments of communion much harder to find.

~Ashava~
Ashava was only a minor patron in the tribes of Sagalikitak's upbringing. To the local mystics, the azata's domains of repose, bereavement, and moonlight are threaded into ritual practice and legends.

~Sarenrae~
Although her teachings are known far and wide, Sagalikitak had not The Dawnflower until recently. They are fascinated with her teachings on healing, protection and redemption, though they've found some aversion to the fiery language within The Birth of Light and Truth.

~Ketephys~
Elven culture is so far from Saga's upbringing. They have recently read on The Hunter and his place in The Cosmic Caravan.

~Gozreh~
Weather is a governing force for all life on the Cage, and the Crown of the World is no exception. Saga is very familiar with many Erutaki, Varki, and Ulfen customs and interpretations of Gozran worship. They happily offer prayers to the Wind and the Waves along their journey.

~Shizuru~
Sagalikitak first heard of the Heaven's Empress from a traveling samurai. Since then, he began offering prayers to Tsukiyo's love during the sunny summer months, appreciating the times when the moon can sometimes be seen while the sun is out.

~Besmara~
Sagalikitak has long collected tales of terrible sea beasts and honors their strength. When a sailor first described the Black Lady to them, Saga decided they would offer due respect to the Pirate Queen.
