Roshan nods. Mouths three single syllable words in Samirah's direction with perhaps just the hint of a smirk. Samirah:
"as you wish" Conversation in sign language: "I see no reason you should move forward with the fear that you are leashed, as that simply leaves you more open to whoever would try to overcome your will in whatever battles we face in the future." The sign is more emphatic. "We are free. You are free. And if you succumb again, we will kill the vampire and free you before you cause too much mischief. The same as you would do for me, or anyone else here." At the end of this, she finally smiles. Roshan nods, his expression softening perceptibly. He signs, "Yup. Don't worry girl. We got your back." He also flashes what you are sure was meant to be a reassuring smile.
"I do not know the limits of what this can carry, but it has been fun to play with so far. It would be of use if you decide to pick anything up from Kenabres." Roshan signs again to the group at large, obvious question on his face. Sign: "Shopping list?"
Cautiously, "You want to go instead of them, Roshan?"Samirah looks to Roshan. "You could certainly make it there without attracting attention..." she says, sounding thoughtful. "But you would go alone? Would you want someone from our group to go with you?" Roshan shrugs, gestures: Sign: he cocks an eyebrow "I can make it. Probably quicker on own, but I still must sleep. Miril and I would make sure to get the items delivered, but my guess is she would be more useful here." Sign: "Depends on how important it is to get the stuff through, what you all have planned in the next couple of weeks, what happens to pop up and if you want anything picked up from Kenabres?"
The corner of Roshan's mouth twitches almost imperceptibly.
"I also want to send the maps showing the possible invasion route, but I'm debating sending each of the men alone with part or trusting the whole of it to the five together." Roshan seems to consider for a few moments, stands a bit straighter, taps his chest with his right fist, then makes a grasping motion bringing items towards him then sweeps his hand off in the distance somewhere in the direction of Kenabres.
Samirah/Miril/Sign:
Roshan responds in sign, "Agreed. Need to clean out any remaining enemy, clean up and repair, drive out evil spirits and bring in support for armies. Not sure how to get rid of demon stink. Maybe send word to Kenabres?" As usual, except to get his meaning across, his signing expressions seem very monotonal. Roshan's eyes slide towards Konstantin as they sign.
Sign language: "So what do you think should be done with this place? Clean it up and reconsecrate it as a new bastion against the darkness?...or tear it down so it can't be used as a "fortress of evil" again in the future?
The GM would like to point out that when a ability or item give you virtual ranks in a skill, the system allows for you to redistribute the real ranks you have. Really? Okay then, unless someone wants it more.

Woohoo! We will now be the Invisible Twins. Because between adding up all our bonuses, plus my "can take 10 all the fricking time" ability, we're minimum doing a Stealth of 44. Up to 54 if Roshan rolls well. (And if I swap my Elven Chain out for my old leather armor, we jump to 46-56.) ...actually, I think it depends what interpretation the GM is using. Based on the forum answers I have seen, I think it may be more of a "anyone who has this teamwork feat rolls and the highest d20 roll is used with the stealth modifiers for their character". Still quite useful, and more so with more members participating to give a better chance of a high d20 roll, but not as "we are ghost seal team 6" as it would be otherwise. I know the wording is very widely open ended and I am fine with whatever our games ruling is. Also, my "Invisible Blade" Far Strike Monk feat(-10 to Stealth, instead of -20) would work well with this, if I were to ever use it (have had it since 3rd level)....I noticed some abilities gained at 8th level that I keep forgetting she has, and so I forget to make use of. I hear you. There was one I missed myself this past combat. (2 attacks with Shot on the Run instead of just one)
And in case anyone is waiting, I was told the answer is something like generally no.

Catching Roshan's eye, Míril gestures with her right hand, making a pointing motion to the left in front of her mouth while shaking her head; then points to her neck, moving her finger back and forth; and lastly pinches her cheek with a hooked index finger. One corner of Roshan's mouth quirks slightly and his nostrils flare briefly.
Roshan's eyes flash and harden at listening to Nurah's words, he then ignores her and instead turns to study the tiefling priestess. Not overtly curious, but perhaps contemplative.
My feat progression was pre-planned and I am not willing to change my upcoming feat. I would be more then willing to pay for a magic item if one can be found that mimics the Stealth Synergy teamwork feat, however.
Roshan looks over at Nurah. Taps a finger to his lips thoughtfully. Looks back to the pretty Tiefling. Cocks an eyebrow.

As the priestess has (at least temporarily) been knocked on her ass, Roshan focuses on the newcomer. Small blades, dagger and star knife all attempt to slip past the defending chains.

Roshan's blades, both small and large, now fly towards the beautiful but thoroughly evil priestess. His expression merely seems to say, "I think you should surrender now."

Roshan focuses on the demon next to Chancre, if(as) that one falls he turns his attention to the one in between Irabeth and Anevia. (if that one drops, he turns a meaningful gaze to the electric lady with the white hair {and a golden star-knife, if it happens to still be available}.)
Roshan's blades lance out towards the northern most demons. Although the demons looks very damaged, he holds on. Roshan's eyes narrow slightly, almost as if affronted that the demon he targeted had the temerity not to lie down and die.

Roshan releases a fusillade of sharpened steel before clovering around one of the oversized cowmen to open up two potential flanking positions. (His attacks bounce harmlessly off the bony red creature/Two of the deadly blades punch through the demons defenses, one of them continuing to spin in a golden blur, pulling itself free and returning to his hand.)

Roshan sends his two magic gold and silver boomerang weapons tearing thru the giant wasp once more, betting if the flying mount goes down with the heavily armored dwarf frozen to it's saddle he might be out of the fight for a round or three.
Míril thinks before responding. Finally she makes some halting motions with her hands. Roshan takes a step forward, smiles and lays a reassuring hand on the upper arm of his first friend from this first adventurers group. I do not know sign, though I did learn some very rudimentary sign language while assisting with a school for the deaf and the blind here. I also had some old vhs tapes...which no longer exist. I can't say I actually remember any more of it then I remember German from High School. Which is next to none.

Míril is keeping to herself, away from the main group. She blanches a bit and Konstantin's mention of "the master of this place". Roshan approaches, but gets only close enough so that Miril notices he is actually there, and not blending into the shadows which seems to be his natural domain. His hands cupped downwards near his stomach rotate upwards, then he points at her briefly with a concerned expression. His right hand forms a circle then hits the palm of his left with index and pointer splayed apart. Sign:

Roshan studies his opponents.
He looks at the group, "Did Aron get injured or is he watching more prisoners?" Someone studying Roshan's face might notice a slight change of expression. Perhaps the smallest frown followed by a somewhat thoughtful expression.
Roshan remains noncommittal and nondescript among the shadows.
Roshan places the boot upright and facing away from the man to make it easier to slip on, then retrieves what he assumes is his rapier and offers it to him, hilt first and over his left forearm. GM: should the man inexplicably decide to attack (which he dies not expect, but is guarding against nonetheless) for some reason, he plans to redirect the jab just to the right of his body and underneath his right arm, moving into him and pushing down which will immobilize both arm and weapon and assuming he has been released from his manacles could also easily immobilize most people against the floor.
And to no one's surprise, Roshan of course has released his half-elven friend. Though it may be noted he kept his eyes on her for quite a few moments after. "I can still feel the traces of where it had its grip on me. If it comes back, or if its sire comes, I'll probably be its weapon again." His outward appearance does not change, but there is a softening in the eyes, and perhaps an acknowledgement as well. |
