Special Abilities

Detect Evil (Sp) (move):
At will, a paladin can use detect evil, as the spell. A paladin can, as a move action, concentrate on a single item or individual within 60 feet and determine if it is evil, learning the strength of its aura as if having studied it for 3 rounds. While focusing on one individual or object, the paladin does not detect evil in any other object or individual within range.

Smite Evil (Su) ( . )( . )( . )( . )( . ):
per day, a paladin can call out to the powers of good to aid her in her struggle against evil. As a swift action, the paladin chooses one target within sight to smite. If this target is evil, the paladin adds her Charisma bonus (if any) to her attack rolls and adds her paladin level to all damage rolls made against the target of her smite. If the target of smite evil is an outsider with the evil subtype, an evil-aligned dragon, or an undead creature, the bonus to damage on the first successful attack increases to 2 points of damage per level the paladin possesses. Regardless of the target, smite evil attacks automatically bypass any DR the creature might possess.

In addition, while smite evil is in effect, the paladin gains a deflection bonus equal to her Charisma modifier (if any) to her AC against attacks made by the target of the smite. If the paladin targets a creature that is not evil, the smite is wasted with no effect.

The smite evil effect remains until the target of the smite is dead or the next time the paladin rests and regains her uses of this ability.

(swift: vs. target, +6 AC dfl, +6 atk, +13 dmg (+26 on first successful atk vs. evil dragon, (evil) outsider, or undead)

Lay On Hands (Su):
Beginning at 2nd level, a paladin can heal wounds (her own or those of others) by touch. Each day she can use this ability a number of times equal to 1/2 her paladin level plus her Charisma modifier. With one use of this ability, a paladin can heal 1d6 hit points of damage for every two paladin levels she possesses. Using this ability is a standard action, unless the paladin targets herself, in which case it is a swift action. Despite the name of this ability, a paladin only needs one free hand to use this ability.

Alternatively, a paladin can use this healing power to deal damage to undead creatures, dealing 1d6 points of damage for every two levels the paladin possesses. Using lay on hands in this way requires a successful melee touch attack and doesn't provoke an attack of opportunity. Undead do not receive a saving throw against this damage. (+1/day from Miracle Worker

(standard/swift: 4d6, +sicken or 1d6, +9 if self) ( . )( . )( . )( . )( . )( . )( . )( . )( . )( . )( . )( . )( . )

Aura of Courage (Su):
At 3rd level, a paladin is immune to fear (magical or otherwise). Each ally within 10 feet of her gains a +4 morale bonus on saving throws against fear effects. This ability functions only while the paladin is conscious, not if she is unconscious or dead.
(auto: immune fear, 10' radius of +4 morale bonus to allies)

Divine Health (Ex):
At 3rd level, a paladin is immune to all diseases, including supernatural and magical diseases, including mummy rot.
(auto: immune disease)

Channel Wrath (Su):
When an oathbound paladin reach 4th level, she can spend two uses of her lay on hands ability to gain an extra use of smite evil that day. This ability has no effect for a paladin who does not have the smite evil ability. This ability replaces channel positive energy.
Spend 2 uses of LoH for +1 Smite.

Divine Bond (Sp):
The first type of bond allows the paladin to enhance her weapon as a standard action by calling upon the aid of a celestial spirit for 1 minute per paladin level. When called, the spirit causes the weapon to shed light as a torch. At 5th level, this spirit grants the weapon a +1 enhancement bonus. For every three levels beyond 5th, the weapon gains another +1 enhancement bonus, to a maximum of +6 at 20th level. These bonuses can be added to the weapon, stacking with existing weapon bonuses to a maximum of +5, or they can be used to add any of the following weapon properties: axiomatic, brilliant energy, defending, disruption, flaming, flaming burst, holy, keen, merciful, and speed.

Adding these properties consumes an amount of bonus equal to the property's cost (see Table: Melee Weapon Special Abilities). These bonuses are added to any properties the weapon already has, but duplicate abilities do not stack. If the weapon is not magical, at least a +1 enhancement bonus must be added before any other properties can be added. The bonus and properties granted by the spirit are determined when the spirit is called and cannot be changed until the spirit is called again. The celestial spirit imparts no bonuses if the weapon is held by anyone other than the paladin but resumes giving bonuses if returned to the paladin. These bonuses apply to only one end of a double weapon. A paladin can use this ability once per day at 5th level, and one additional time per day for every four levels beyond 5th, to a total of four times per day at 17th level.

If a weapon bonded with a celestial spirit is destroyed, the paladin loses the use of this ability for 30 days, or until she gains a level, whichever comes first. During this 30-day period, the paladin takes a –1 penalty on attack and weapon damage rolls.

(standard: 8 mins, weapon glows like a torch, and gains +2 Enhncmnt bonus. Stacks w/weapon's own bonus. Could add:
(+1) Bane (Outsider, Evil), Keen, Merciful (+1d6), Defending;
(+2) Axiomatic, Flaming Burst, Holy, Disruption* (DC 14);
(+3) Speed; (+4) brilliant energy (ignore non-living matter).

Anchoring Aura (Su):
At 8th level, a paladin's aura hampers extradimensional travel by evil outsiders. The aura extends 20 feet from the paladin. Evil outsiders attempting to use abilities such as dimension door, plane shift, or teleport to leave or enter the aura must succeed at a Will save (DC 10 + 1/2 the paladin's level + the paladin's Charisma modifier); failure means the ability does not function, as if the outsider were affected by dimensional anchor. The aura functions only while the paladin is conscious, not if she is unconscious or dead.

Alternatively, as an immediate action, the paladin can expend one use of her smite evil ability to target an evil outsider within 30 feet with dimensional anchor. A targeted dimensional anchor persists even if the paladin is unconscious or dead.

1. 20' Aura: Evil outsiders using abilities like DDoor must succeed at DC 20 Will save, or ability fails (ala Dimensional Anchor)
2. [imm] Spend 1 Smite Evil to target evil outsider w/in 30' with Dimensional Anchor (R.T.A., No Save, SR) (https://aonprd.com/SpellDisplay.aspx?ItemName=Dimensional%20Anchor).

Soldier of Peace: Penalty for non-lethal attack reduced by 2. Once per adventure, before casting a spell [or before one ally you can see casts as spell], you may choose to replace half the lethal damage dealt with an equivalent amount of nonlethal damage.

Anointed: +2 Sacred bonus on Cha-based checks made against good creatures and on saving throws against spells and effects with the evil descriptor. (included above) 1/adventure, as a swift action, you may grant a weapon you wield [or that one ally you can see wields] the benefits of Bless Weapon for one round.

Paragon: When you or an ally purchase the spellcasting services raise dead, resurrection, or true resurrection, reduce the Prestige Point cost by 25%. When you caset any of these spells, reduce the material component cost by 25%. When activating either the Soldier of Peace or Anointed boon, you may grant the benefit to one ally you can see instead of receiving it yourself.

Purifier: When attempting a caster-level check to remove curse, disease, or other condition, increase your ecl by 1/2 the number of goals completed. (10/2=5). You can also apply this benefit when conditions are removed from you.

Miracle Worker: 1/day, Lay on Hands as Paladin of level = # of goals completed (10) (included above).

Celestial Blessing: ( . ) / adventure, you can call upon Ragathiel as a free action to grant yourself and all allies within 30' to whom you have line of effect DR/evil equal to 1/2 goals completed, rounded down. (10/2 = DR 5/Evil)

Cleansing Crusader: ( . ) ( . ) ( . ) ( . ) At the beginning of an adventure, choose a single mercy that you could qualify for. A number of times equal to 1/2 the number of boons completed, rounded down, you can apply this mercy to yourself or to an ally as if using Lay on Hands without healing any hit points. If you have lay on hands, you can apply this mercy in addition to another mercy by expending a use of this boon. (8/4=2)

*Vanities*

Silver Crusader:
You may use the honorific "silver crusader" before you name, earning you a reputation as a soldier of the forces of good in the world.

You gain a +3 bonus on Intimidate checks against evil clerics and antipaladins.

*Boons*

Azlanti Historian: [ ] You rescued Juliet Dias and her team from a xacarba’s influence, and prevented the xacarba from unleashing itself on the Mwangi expanse. To thank you for your efforts, Juliet Dias shares some of her extensive knowledge about Azlanti history and language. You gain a +1 bonus on all Knowledge (history) checks pertaining to Azlant, and a +2 bonus on Linguistics checks to interpret Azlanti writing. Check off the box next to this boon to gain a +2 bonus on any Knowledge (history) check before rolling. This bonus stacks with the bonus on Knowledge checks about Azlanti history, to a total of +3.

Fool Me Once (C25) Grandmaster Torch's sudden betrayal and subsequent escape have left you questioning the motives of everyone around you-particularly your allies. You gain a +2 bonus on Sense Motive checks against current and former Pathfinders. (included above)[/spoiler:

[spoiler=Unexpected Prestige]: You captured or killed Grandmaster Torch in Riddleport, and though he may return one day, word of your deed has spread quickly through the Pathfinder Society. The next time you would fail to gain a Prestige Point for completing a primary or secondary
mission, you instead gain the Prestige Point and cross this boon off your Chronicle sheet.

Crusade Star (Silver Crusade) (C24):
([ ] [ ]) Your efforts in Chesed have helped crusaders bound for Mendev to arrive without selling off critical resources to fund their trip. In recognition of this deed and your ongoing heroics, Queen Galfrey of Mendev has awarded you the Crusader Star, one of the highest civilian medals for service to the nation.

You can check one of the boxes preceding this boon to use the medal to requisition a +1 Holy Weapon (or 10 pieces of ammunition) for the duration of an adventure.

Alternatively, you can use the medal as an additional focus when casting a spell with the good descriptor; you must check a box, which applies the benefits of the Empower Spell metamagic feat to the spell without increasing its caster level.

Sky Key Component (Numeria) (C24):
You have recovered one of the five lost components of the strange relic known as the Sky Key. This piece once belonged to Toggrim, whose descendants now live in Chesed.

Starmetal Stockpile (C24):
([ ]) During your adventure in Numeria, you found a large amount of rare skymetals (Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Technology Guide 56-57). You can check the box that precedes this boon in order to purchase a single weapon or suit of armour made of horacalcum, noqual, or siccatite at its listed cost. You can only purchase one such item using this boon, even if you later sell the weapon or armour.

Argent Allies of the Burning Sun (Silver Crusade, C23):
Mahja Firehair's Burning Sun tribe consists primarily of orcs seeking to abandon the evil traditions common to the orcs of Belkzen, and many of its members are worshipers of Sarenrae like their chieften. By sparing and healing the orc Uirch, you have created a bond that could lead to future alliances between the Silver Crusade and the Burning Suns. You can purchase or craft spirit pouches (Advanced Race Guide 141) as though they were approved items on the Additional Resources list. You must bring a copy of the Advanced Race Guide to all sessions in which this boon is used (including any session in which you intend to use a previously purchased war spirit pouch).

In addition, you get a +2 circumstance bonus on all Diplomacy checks made when interacting with orcs from the Burning Sun tribe, and a +1 circumstance bonus on Intimidate checks made against all other orcs.

Preservationist (C23):
Even when being stalked by a Red Reaver in its lair, you were able to keep calm and protect the valuable historical and religious relics contained within the Bastion of Light. You gain a +1 bonus to your CMD against Disarm and Sunder attempts, and spells you cast that would damage unattended objects in their area, such as fireball, do so only when you want them to.

Reaver of Reavers (C23):
Successfully slaying the fearsome red reaver of Roslar's Coffer was no mean feat, and word of your victory has spread throughout all of Lastwall and beyond. When staying at an inn, you can almost always obtain common quality lodging, meals, and stable services for free.

Crystalcrag Survivor (Silver Crusade, C22):
Thanks to your mercy and might, you ensured that the town of Crystalcrag survived the overthrow of its tyrannical leader and did not fall into chaos and infighting in the aftermath, encouraging you to perform similar acts in the future. At the beginning of an encounter that includes one or more allied or noncombatant NPCs, you can cross this boon off your Chronicle Sheet to choose one NPC you can see and grant him temporary hit points equal to 5 + your character level, a +3 dodge bonus to AC, and a +3 resistance bonus on all saving throws for the duration of the encounter.

Efreeti's Wish (C22):
You secured a wish from an efreeti and managed to prevent her from twisting the wish against you. Choose one of the following benefits and cross the others off your Chronicle Sheet.

Wish for Glory: You regain 2 spent Prestige Points, but any points that exceed your Fame must be spent immediately or it is lost.
Wish for Power: You may cross this boon off your Chronicle Sheet to gain a +6 inherent bonus to one ability score for 5 minutes.
Wish for Wealth: You earn an extra 350 gp (Subtier 5-6) or 700 gp (Subtier 8-9) for completing this scenario.

[spoiler=Master Smith's Services (C22, used to repair Gamin the Reforged)]The slag giant Valsog is a master craftsman, and he offers to repair a broken item free of charge. You can cross this boon off your Chronicle sheet at the end of an adventure to repair a broken item as though you had cast Make Whole (CL 10th). Alternatively, if you also own the sword Gamin the Misforged, you may cross the boon off your Chronicle Sheet and spend 5 Prestige Points to permanently remove the broken condition from that weapon. If you instead spend 25 Prestige Points, you can also increase Gamin the Misforged's weapon enhancement bonus to +2. Neither of these improvements modify the sword's market price or resale value.

Oread's Favor (C22):
You have earned the recognition of a large group [of] oread geniekin. This boon may be used in conjunction with other boons to grant one or more of your characters access to oread-related options.

Air Affinity (C21):
Your connection to the elemental plane of air is stronger over the course of your recent adventures. This has no mechanical effect on its own, but it may interact with other boons or play a role in future adventures, especially those set on the Elemental Planes.

Clearing the Skies (Silver Crusade, C21):
[][] You saved a pair of Sylphs from servitude under Grasping Storm and convinced them to serve a new patron deity rather than continuing to follow the evil elemental lord Hshurha. The sylphs shared some of their insights with you to protect you and your allies from harm. You may check a box before this boon to case feather fall as a spell-like ability with a caster level equal to your character level.

Hurricane-Tempered (C21):
Your battle with Grasping Storm has granted you knowledge about the flow of air. You may cross this boon off your Chronicle Sheet to treat wind effects as if they were one category weaker per Air Affinity boon you possess for one round per Air Affinity boon. This includes penalties on ranged attacks, whether the wind checks you or blows you away, and the penalty the wind imposes on Fly checks. Treat the effective starting wind strength of effects that make ranged attacks impossible but do not specify a strength, such as wind wall, as if they were windstorms.

Adaptable Blades (C20):
You have earned the enduring respect of the Twenty-Four Masks. As a sign of camaraderie, they have introduced you to a skilled bladesmith. When you would purchase a specific magic weapon in the fighter's light blades or heavy blades weapon group, you may check the box before the boon to replace the weapon with a different weapon from the same group. To determine the price, use the difference in price between the standard base weapon and the new base weapon. For example, a short sword of venom, based off a dagger of venom, would cost 8,310 gp.

To perform this substitution, the weapon's total price must be less than 25,000 gp, and it cannot be a unique weapon from another Chronicle sheet.

Champion of Mercy (Silver Crusade, C20):
When you faced once-righteous foes that had fallen to darkness at the hands of an ancient and manipulative evil, you spared their lives and advocated for mercy on their behalf. As a standard action, you can cross off this boon to remove the fatigued, shaken, or sickened condition from a target you touch as if using the paladin's mercy ability. If you have the mercy ability, you may instead cross off this boon to apply any mercy that you qualify for but did not select to one of your uses of lay on hands.

Into the Baglands (C19):
[] [] [] While not all experiments yield positive results, sometimes the most unlikely accident can lead to beneficial results. As long as you have a bag of holding in your posession, you may check a box next to this boon to transform the bag into a tiny hut centred on your location, with a CL = char lvl. As long as you are within the tiny hut, you can access any item stored in the bag of holding as a move action. When the tiny hut spell ends, the bag of holding returns to your possession in its original form, and all creatures inside are shunted to nearby spaces.

Pig-Dragon Polymorph Potion (C19):
You have discovered a rare magical elixir whose properties have been transformed by the power of the Baglands. You may cross off this boon to feed this potion to an adjacent creature of the animal type as a standard action, granting the creature a +4 natural armour bonus to AC and a fly speed of 30 feet with average maneuverability for 1 minute. Creatures that already possess a fly speed instead increase their fly speed by 10 feet. In addition, a creature affected by this ability gains a 30 foot cone breath weapon that can be used every 1d4 rounds to deal 3d6 points of acid damage and reduce all movement speeds of affected creatures by 1d6 x 5 feet for 1 round; a creature whose speed is reduced to 0 is glued in place, unable to move from its current location. Creaturs who succeed at a DC 19 Reflex saving throw negate the speed penalty and reduce the damage by half.

Blight Bane (C18):
As a swift action, you can challenge an animal, plant, or vermin creature that you can see, gaining a special bonus against that foe for a number of rounds equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum 1 round). You get a +1 bonus on attack rolls against that foe, and your weapons and spells deal an additional 1d6 damage against it. The bonus on attacks and damage increases to +2 and 2d6 respectively if the creature also has the "fiendish" simple template. You can instead grant these benefits to an adjacent ally as a move action, using your Wisdom bonus to determine the duration. When you use this boon, cross it off your Chronicle sheet.

Fangwood Purifier (C18):
[] You have vanquished the blighted infestation growing in part of the Fangwood, and in time the flora, fauna, and fey will recover. You can spend 2 Prestige Points to learn Sylvan as a bonus language. In addition, you can check the box preceding this boon to attempt a wild empathy check (PHCRB 50) to influence an animal or magical beast, treating your character level as your effective druid level for this purpose. If you already have the wild empathy class feature or a similar ability, you can instead check the box to roll the check twice, and take the higher result.

(Wild Empathy (Ex): A druid can improve the attitude of an animal. This ability functions just like a Diplomacy check made to improve the attitude of a person (see Using Skills). The druid rolls 1d20 and adds her druid level and her Charisma modifier to determine the wild empathy check result. The typical domestic animal has a starting attitude of indifferent, while wild animals are usually unfriendly.

To use wild empathy, the druid and the animal must be within 30 feet of one another under normal conditions. Generally, influencing an animal in this way takes 1 minute but, as with influencing people, it might take more or less time.

A druid can also use this ability to influence a magical beast with an Intelligence score of 1 or 2, but she takes a -4 penalty on the check.)

Kobold Killer (C17.5):
Anytime you face a kobold in the future, you may designate one such creature as a free action. You gain a +1 bonus on attack and damage roles against that target for the duration of combat. When you have used this boon, cross it off your chronicle sheet. This ability does not stack with multiple instances of itself.

Champion of Ghalcor's Legacy (Silver Crusade) (C17):
Over the course of a short battle, you laid to rest a fallen cleric’s restless spirit, battled a powerful demon, and reclaimed a weapon that routed the hordes of the Abyss. Needless to say, Ollysta Zadrian was impressed by your valor. Halve the cost of Silver Crusade faction vanities you purchase with Prestige Points (maximum discount 4 PP). In addition, reduce the Fame requirement for qualifying for the Silver Crusader vanity (Pathfinder Society Field Guide 22) to 30.

Ghalcor's Spellcraft (C17):
Following the battle at Ghalcor’s Tower, you were able to study the dead cleric’s notes and discovered that he also developed a handful of powerful spells. Now the Pathfinder Society and the Mendevian Crusade can wield these in the fight against the Worldwound. So long as you possess this boon, all of your Pathfinder Society Organized Play characters have access to the following spells from Pathfinder Player Companion: Demon Hunter’s Handbook as if they appeared on the Additional Resources page: burst with light, detect demon, and righteous blood.

Mendevian Commendation (C17):
You have received a medal for your service to Mendev and the Fifth Crusade. For every Mendevian Commendation you have, you gain a cumulative +1 bonus on Charisma-based skill and ability checks made to influence crusaders of Mendev (maximum +3).

Duskwarden's Favor (C16):
Your actions below Kaer Maga have impressed the Duskwardens, and these guides teach you some of their tricks for safely navigating dangerous caverns. You can cross this boon off your Chronicle sheet to gain the ranger favored terrain ability (+2) in underground environments for the remainder of the scneario. If you already have the favored terrain in underground environments, add 2 to the bonuses that you gain in underground environments.

Guardian of the Farheavens (C15):
[[] [] []]You successfully reunited Dolok Darkfur with the last god caller of the Farheavens, earning the gratitude of the mighty eidolon. You can check one of the boxes that precede this boon as a standard action to affect a single bear or owlbear with a charm monster effect (DC 19; CL 8th).

Alternatively, you can check a box that precedes this boon as a standard action to use bear’s endurance as a spell-like ability with a caster level equal to your character level.

Frozen Fortitude (C13):
Even the coldest wilderness could not fell you. Now you are prepared to endure freezing attacks or even draw strength from the snow. As a swift action, you can check the box that precedes this boon to gain cold resistance equal to 5 + your character level for 1 minute. You can activate this boon as an immediate action, but doing so grants you only cold resistance equal to your character level. Alternatively, if you have cold resistance as a result of a racial trait or class feature, you can check this box as a swift action to regain a number of hit points equal to your cold resistance; if you are immune to cold, you regain 30 hit points.

Triumph Over Scales (C13):
You have braved the Realm of the Mammoth Lords, not only defeating a tribe of kobolds but also slaying their white dragon overlords. You can spend 2 Prestige Points to learn Draconic as a bonus language. [ooc](Done, C13) In addition, you can check the box that precedes this boon when you threaten a critical hit against a dragon or humanoid with the reptilian subtype to gain a +10 insight bonus on the attack roll to confirm the critical hit. Alternatively, you can check the box when a dragon or humanoid with the reptilian subtype would confirm a critical hit against you in order to gain the benefits of the heavy fortification armor special ability against that attack.

Belkzen Veteran (C11):
[ ] You have crossed the Hold of Belkzen, negotiated with the orc representatives, and clashed with opportunistic raiders. You can spend 2 Prestige Points to learn Orc as a bonus language. (Done, C11)) In addition, you can check the box that precedes this boon to gain the benefits of the orc ferocity half-orc racial trait for 1 round. If you already have this racial trait and activate that ability, you can check the box to act normally as though you did not have the disabled condition for 1 round.

(Orc Ferocity: Once per day, when a half-orc is brought below 0 hit points but not killed, he can fight on for 1 more round as if disabled. At the end of his next turn, unless brought to above 0 hit points, he immediately falls unconscious and begins dying.)

Martyr's Shard 1 + 2 + 3 (C11)(C13)(C18):
[ ] [ ]The paladin Ivvora wielded a powerful dagger in service to her angelic patron, Vildeis. By helping recover and restore the hilt, you are able to begin imbuing a facsimile of the blade to combat evil on your own terms. As a free action, you can check the box that precedes this boon to grant one weapon you wield a +1 enhancement bonus (does not stack with other enhancement bonuses) and the ability to overcome damage reduction and regeneration as a cold iron, good-aligned weapon for 1 minute. Future Martyr’s Shard boons may unlock additional benefits.

If you are a paladin or lawful good character capable of casting divine spells, the +1 enhancement bonus stacks with the weapon’s existing enhancement bonus, if any (but not with similar additional enhancements,
such as that granted by a paladin’s divine bond ability). Furthermore, you can check the box that precedes this boon to instead cast dispel magic as a spell-like ability using your character level as the spell’s caster level.

Any character with this boon can choose to purchase an avenging dagger (120,604 gp; functions as a holy avenger but is a dagger rather than a longsword) as though her effective Fame were 10 higher. If this character has earned two, three, or all four Martyr’s Shard boons, reduce the cost of an avenging dagger to 110,604 gp, 100,604 gp, or 90,604 gp respectively.

Scarred Champion (C11):
[ ] Vildeis grants the strength to endure pain to strike down evil, and in escorting Ivvora’s hilt back to the Twinhorn following, you now carry a spark of that empyreal lord’s divine resilience. When you would fail a saving throw against the spell or spell-like ability of an undead creature, you can check the box that precedes this boon to roll 1d6 and increase the saving throw result by that amount. If the bonus is enough to turn the failure into a success, the saving throw succeeds. This near-death experience leaves you
with a hand-sized scar somewhere on your body—a reminder of Vildeis’s assistance.

Heavenly Scholar (C10):
[C11] [ ] Your studies of sacred scripture have enhanced your knowledge about matters of faith. If you are trained in Knowledge (religion), you can check a box that precedes this boon to add 1d6 to the result of one Knowledge (religion) check after rolling but before learning the results of your roll.
