Background:

Rodergo is a cleric of the Silver Flame from Thrane. He spent the last two years of the last war as a part of a cadre of clerics loaned to Brelish allies; if there was something Thrane had enough of at home it was clergy. He spent those years stitching up and healing the wounded, and from these experiences has a poor opinion of war.
When the war ended, he returned home only to see home with new eyes. The idealism of youth now tainted by the experience of war, he saw hypocrisy and graft everywhere he looked. He no longer knew what he was doing there.
His superiors gave him a lot of slack due to his war veteran status and decided he needed a change of scenery. Having some experience with Brelish folk, he was sent to Sharn to help the church's efforts there, and to rid themselves of an inconveniently ethical and obviously burned out clergyman.
They reasoned, if war couldn't teach Rodergo to see the foolishness of his idealism, Sharn definitely could.
In Sharn, however, his inclination toward morality also proves difficult for his superiors. Therefore he is given the worst most dangerous assignments, perhaps to help temper him to the realities of the world, or at least put him somewhere he can be utilized and not do too much damage to the internal workings of the church.
Which brings him to a certain small chapel, and a certain missing clergyman...
