Background: Robert is an orphan raised by the Knights Templar. He was eventually admitted into the order because of his extreme piety. The Inquisition requested his secondment after Robert showed success in ferreting out witches and other heretics. He was forced to stand aside as his Order was denounced by the King of France. He could not save them. But he vowed he will clear their name.

What do you look like?

Robert is a muscular thirty year old man. However, the stress of his work with the Inquisition has resulted in the premature greying of his hair at his temples. Two jagged scars mar his face the result of an attack of a witch he identified and captured in Avignon.

Strapped to his back is a Scottish claymore (greatsword), a spoil of battle. Its large crosspiece gives the impression that Robert is carrying a cross. Plastered over his armor are plenary indulgences that Robert won through his service with the Inquisition. A pair of daggers is strapped on a belt around his waist.

Finally, a battle-scarred Bible hangs from a chain at Robert’s hip.
