About Riggnarok Blakros
As far back as Riggnarok can remember, he was trained as a gladiator in the slave pits of Cheliax. Aged 17, he and most other slaves were semi-accidentally freed by a paladin of Iomedae. Unsure what to do with his freedom, the impressionable young half-orc stuck with his charismatic savior and, on their mission to Varisia and back, fell more and more under her influence. She became his first mentor and imparted upon him the things that defined his life from there on: a sense of honor and duty, a fierce devotion to her goddess, and a deep-seated desire to become a paladin just like his mentor.
Upon returning to Absalom, the paladin enrolled him into the Pathfinder training, but after completing it, he still felt unworthy of taking the vows. Although he had not seen his mentor since, they exchanged letters, in which she suggested a compromise: he would join the Silver Crusade and go out into the world with other Pathfinders, and if, in a year, he felt that he has conquered his inner demons and has not strayed from the path of honor and justice, she would recommend him to her order.
As the Year of the Demon drew to a close, Riggnarok traveled to Mendev to join the final offensive against the demons and it was there that he finally took a paladin's vows in the presence of his mentor. Immediately thereafter, he, along with hundreds of fellow Pathfinders, took part in the assault on the Sky Citadel of Jormurdun, where he formed an unlikely but oddly efficient partnership with a morose dwarven mage named Roderik.
The Year of the Sky Key brought about big changes in Riggnarok's life. After a Pathfinder party saved her from the Shadow Plane, a young niece of the powerful Blakros family fell head over heels for their dashing half-orc leader and schemed vigorously to seduce him. A man of honor, Riggnarok proposed to her afterwards and after the initial scandal settled, the Blakros family relented, much to his astonishment. Their marriage proved a surprisingly happy one, despite his frequent absences, and in nine months, little Lucia Blakros was born in their new estate in Absalom. To his great relief, the Blakros heritage proved stronger than the orc blood, and his daughter displayed little of his bestial traits--but a promise of the fabled Blakros daughter beauty.
