Are we sure? I just checked that link and I think it may have been forgotten rather than errata'd.

"Alignment: Arcane archers can be of any alignment. Elf or half-elf arcane arches tend to be free-spirited and are rarely lawful. Similarly, it is uncommon for elven arcane archers to be evil, and overall the path of the arcane archer is more often pursued by good or neutral characters."

They left that in in the alignment section which is why I question the errata. Still says "Elf or half-elf".

Yes. The devs have said on here themselves that they intentionally removed the race requirement for the arcane archer because they didn't agree with the limitation. That text you quoted, for one, just MENTIONS elf and half-elf arcane archers specifically, but doesn't say anything about the class being exclusive to them.

Do you happen to have a link for the arrata itself? Or one where the developers posted that? I had looked all over before I posted and I couldn't find it. Would be much appreciated. Thanks.

First time Poster on the boards here, and I searched and researched for any other posts on this subject and can't believe I'm the first one to notice this.

If I am not, feel free to flag it and delete this post.

NPC Codex Pages 202-203 have two inviable choices for Arcane Archers!

Page 374 of the Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook states:
"Unlike the core classes, characters must meet specific requirements before they can take their first level of a prestige class. If a character does not meet the requirements for a prestige class before gaining any benefits of that level, that character cannot take that prestige class."

Now that seems pretty straightforward right? Don't meet the requirements then you can't take the class. So why are pages202 and 203 wrong?

There's a HUMAN and a GNOME Arcane Archer! The FIRST requirement to be an Arcane Archer is: "Race: Elf or half-elf." It's listed right there in black and white page 374 of the Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook.

I can forgive minor mistakes such as Knowledge(Arcane) instead of Knowledge(Arcana) we all know there are a few mistakes (such as the alternate sorcerer bloodline for Shaitans[Ultimate Magic] stating at 20th level they are immune to electricity when it was clearly supposed to be an immunity to ACID) and typos in every book despite editors best efforts, but an obvious RULE violation? Come on!
