Background:
Renvil is an aspiring playwright and singer here in Kintargo. A few weeks ago you'd have said he was up-and-coming, maybe even on a fast track. But when the stage is gone, the performer's got no work. Barzillai Thrune has taken residence in the Opera House, and that means Renvil has lost his venue. Private commissions from the nobility have also dried up as everybody's nervousness in uncertain times increases.
No matter. Renvil has made money in the streets before, and he'll make it again. In the past, his busking troupe could even bring in more in a night than Renvil made from a ticketed event at the Opera House.
But that work has dried up as well. The curfews and other restrictions have left fewer people on the streets, and the people that are there just aren't as interested in diversions anymore. Everybody's so glum under Martial Law.
Of course, even if moods were better, the music shop he worked at--The Silver Star--that was raided and now stands in ruins. While he feels in his heart that everything would be fine, the worry won't let him go. The Silver Star was more than just a music shop, and that meant that the Thrune's might be coming for him, now, too.
