Spoiler:
"Aye Yen, I see it too."Runolf crouches low and prowls forward along with Hilda. " They are watchtowers I'm afraid." He begins in response to Kath." They're meant to be able to see us, in fact they may have already. Maybe this snow can give us some cover." Note GM, Runolf and Hilda are considered to have the Alertness feat when adjacent to one another due to the "Bodygaurd" Archtype that Hilda posesses. Thanks. Also, Good idea Kendrik; Runolf will also have Hilda get a scent for each of the goblins.

Spoiler:
Runolf strolls past Caerlei healing the damage that he had caused, largely inadvertently. How could he have know it woulda took the man's eye? Robinton's lively tune had had charmed lady luck he supposed. He took advantage of the injury and chuckled for a moment as he patted the sobbing man's shoulder"There now Fipps, that drink was just what you needed to cool you down aye?" He couldn't suppress a sudden laugh at his own remark. Making a show of catching his breath before lowering his brow and continuing, chin and beard jutted out as he spoke." Easy now mate, If this happens again I'll make sure I take both of those eyes from you." He declares, his voice unfaltering, ringing with undeniable honesty. He smiles at Caerlei." Ah lass, Will you ever cease to amaze me? What other tricks do you have up your sleeves?" It's more of praise than actual questioning, and he makes his way up the stairs before he waits for an answer from the hell-kissed woman. _______________________________________________________

Spoiler:
Runolf follows Osir's lead and backs up behind cover of hammocks and crates (some sort of partial cover if possible) . This wasn't his first scrap and it wouldn't be his last. He knew how to use the crowded innards of the ship to his advantage. His eyes went a bit wide at Caerlei's ability to pull a 10 foot weapon out of her skin. He was grateful to have her on his side. It was in his nature to intimidate, but it seemed his companions had that under control. He had heard enough posturing, it was the time for action. He picked up a half full glass bottle and made a show of giving it a quick toss up in the air. " Now Fipp that's no way to speak to a lady. You're too worked up, you shouldd have a drink." He says calmly, before heaving the bottle end over end square at the face of the hostile pirate.

Spoiler:
Runolf stands to his feet with some efffort. His head was swimming and he felt considerably weaker. The beautiful redhead caught his eye but at this point he wasn't sure if it was his eyes or the rum, and that was exactly the same kind of situation that had lead him to be found in this situation. "Bah! The rigging work was spotty, it's no wonder they can't get the rum right on this ship either." He remarked, taking a mental note to mix the foul stuff into something more drinkable, or to steal something that was of better quality.. He nods to Sandara."Red Beard Runolf." He declares his name, before continuing." A Pleasure to meet ya."

Spoiler:
Runolf joins the group of newly pressed sailors on the poop deck. He sets the bowl of slop on the railing and leans over as he takes a few hearty spoonfuls. He swallowed down the stew and swiftly dumped the remainder over the edge. He turned up his ration of the rum and soaked away the awful taste of the food with the burning taste of the alcohol. By damn, I've tasted worse things before but I can't remember when." "Red Beard Runolf's the name. We'll all need to be stickin' together on this cesspool of a ship if we want to survive. Caerlei, I'd be in debt to you gal if you'd be so kind to set aside a few fish." "Mabelode, I'll teach you a thing or two 'bout hob lob, I've been playin all my life!"

Hey guys, the Tuesday after memorial day is swamped and I'm gettin in pretty late and I have to be there early tomorrow. The rest of the week levels out and I should have time to post in the mornings and evenings. Anyway, just a head's up that it will probably be tomorrow evening before I can get a post up in response. Sorry to be a drag guys!

Spoiler:
RUnolf shook his head and spit off to one side. It was a sign of disgust, but not an overt one. That sea-devil Plugg seemed to get his thrills on the suffering of others. It was no surprise, Runolf had been around ships his whole life and he had seen more than his fair share of ne'er-do-wells who sailed the seas not for the love of Besmara's bath or the spirit of adventure, but for the chance to spread fear and dread. Those types were too full of themselves, Runolf would have to do his best to avoid crossing Plugg, at least until he had his weapons.

Spoiler:
Runolf breezed through completing the repairs in the upper rigging. He trusted his instincts to complete the task. This wasn't the first time he had went about these sort of inspections, and it wouldn't be the last. He seized the opportunity to poke around a bit with his free time. As he understood it he was unarmed aboard a ship full of marauders. He would need any advantage he could obtain if he planned to survive.

Similarity apologizing here as well, It's been a long week and a short but frantic weekend. lol. Work in progress on a post. Thanks for the understanding guys, looks like everyone got hit hard this week dealing with real life.

Spoiler:
yeah i'm still interested, no worries! Having said that, I do apologize, the week has thus far been occupied by too much work and hanging with a friend from out of state when i'm not at work. Tomorrow's my day off, I'll get a post up tonight hopefully and one or two tomorrow.

Spoiler:
Runolf reaches the top without breaking a sweat and gives the man a firm handshake, clasping his forearm. "Aye, the name is Red Beard. I'll keep an eye out for you if you do the same mate." It was never too early to make an ally. If the crew was anything like the Captain seemed, he would need eyes in the back of his head, and Osir would make that easier.
Male Human Pirate
Spoiler:
Runolf silently sets about the task, popping his knuckles and rolling his shoulders before he leaped out to a head-start towards the crow's nest. He'd do any job on a ship, if this is the one he'd be asked to do then so be it. Besides he could keep an eye on things from up there. Round 1: Full round action to climb 30-ft.
Round 2: Full round action to climb 15-ft.
Round 3: Full round action to climb 15-ft.

Spoiler:
" Aye Aye Cap'n, Thanks agin' fer that drink." He remarks, and spits to the floor in a futile attempt to dispose of the nutmeg taste. He trudges forward. He'd pull his weight for now, that was no trouble to him, but he'd repay the captain in kind when the opportunity arose. He sauntered up the stairs and through the empty cargo hold. He whistled sharply and chuckled slightly." Looks like she's seen richer days aye ?" He asks to no one in particular, stepping into the bright light of the deck behind the pale stranger in front of him.

Spoiler:
Runolf came to, with his head ringing and the floor that he rested his face on seemingly swaying. Was he still drunk? How many hours had passed since he first arrived at The Formidably Maid? His head throbbed and as he tried to bring his arms up to raise himself he felt an ache in his muscles and something unexpected on his wrists. His eyes went wide with shock, and then immediately reeled from the effort. His nose picked up the familiar scent of the inner-belly of a ship. His keen ears couldn't help but take note of the slosh of water against the hull of the ship. He wasn't on land, that was for sure. He feels himself nudged and he springs up to a sitting position instinctively with a bit of grunt. He stares the thin ram-horned man in the face with a look of concern as he listens to his words. Runolf glances down at the ropes binding him and shakes his head " Tsk, Tsk, Tsk. Looks like you're right pale devil." He begins shifting in the rope, and turns his attention towards the approaching footsteps." Name's Red Beard. Not the most favorable place to meet. Keep your wit's about you, Look's like they're about to give us the welcome speech." He finishes and stands to his feet, puffing out his chest and placing a thin smile on his lips defiantly, he awaits what comes next.

Hmm, the 13 did move around a bit. On the srd, it doesn't list any prerequisite...So which is the case? I might still end up with combat exp/imp feint with that trait since it would help him to sneak attack(deal more damage!) more often.

Spoiler:
i would say the net is more to theme, perhaps an elf or half elf with the spirit of the water alternate racialtrait, using a net and trident? But that's just where my mind went first. A whip would be pretty cool too, you could pick up prehensile whip and swing around the ship with it!

Spoiler:
I think I'll remake Red Beard as an Angel-kin Aasimar Gunslinger(Buccaneer) to serve that hammer and nail role while still maintaining some key campaign skills if this trait would qualify him as a human for the purpose of class archetypes Quote:
If not, I'll make him a ranger (freebooter) EDIT: Gotcha

alright so I'm really not trying to play another "captain" type character, and that's the feel I'm getting with him as a rogue. I'm going to give the character a reboot and build him as an arcanist. So he'll be "Red Beard"Runolf the Sea Witch.

It's just his combat expertise bonus factored in. I considered making him an emberkin though. I'll see what the dice might say about variant abilities. Rolls Spoiler:

interesting, if i go that route it'll either be the first or last option.
Crunch is done, I believe I'm gonna try those questions I've stolen from Lexi. I think he'd be a really interesting character to play, in combat relying on combat expertise and feinting to get his sneak attacks in, and perhaps throwing a demoralize in there occasionally while maintaining a bit more of a defensive stance. Out of combat he's an able sailor/ navigator, knowledgeable about nature, has some face and interrogation skills. He'll essentially be the prototypical pirate captain. As he levels I'll probably be looking at some of the pirate prestige classes and he might end up multitasking in the fighter(corsair) archetype(no more than 6 levels of it though.)
Any way you'd let me consider swapping my proficiency with the rapier to proficiency with the cutlass? They're statistically the same*. Cutlass 15 gp 1d4 1d6 18-20/×2 — 4 lbs. S Rapier 20 gp 1d4 1d6 18–20/×2 — 2 lbs. P
Overall though I just feel like it fits the theme for my Ulfen descended pirate to be brandishing cutlass rather than a rapier.
Very early progress on my Halfling, I ended up making him a fighter(Cad), but he'll likely end up taking levels in rogue, and maybe even the Halfling opportunist prestige class eventually. Imagine him as supremely arrogant, reeking havoc across battlefields, slashing ankles, etc. Check out this image from deviantart that inspired me to create 'Mighty Mosco'
Here's the alias for Kronak. Early rumblings of ideas for background have me thinking he was actually born in slave pins in Belkzen and managed to survive the hardships and eventually escape (perhaps with the help of a similarly enslaved Mastodon), eventually finding his way to the safety of Lastwall( or any other appropriate outpost; Vigil/whatever works) open to, looking forward to feedback |
