![]() Jubrayl had an encounter with my PC the first session we played ROTRL. While Jubrayl and his man were cheating in the "Dragon Racing" game. My PC (a fighter) stood up to him. He won the fist fight, then Belor took Jubrayl to the garrison for causing trouble. I'm taking this opportunity for my player to have some rivalry and bad blood with the Sczarti and Jubrayl, can make a hell good sidequest out of this. (Or add to him in the main quest) ![]()
![]() My Player (one on one) had a (strong) friendship backstory with Nulia, he was next to a few others the only friends of Nulia. My PC has no idea yet (he thinks she died in the churchs fire) of what Nulia plans on lamashtu and the destruction of Sandpoint. When the chapters final boss battle comes in, should I let my player (after a great battle) talk things up with Nulia? Even make her regret and become a party member/ally? ![]()
![]() Hey! Don't worry, I am indeed playing a one on one "rise of the runelords" campaign and I have to say it is a lot of fun. I am the DM and my only player is a Fighter Human (we have gamed with more people but we decided to play this AP on our own). Wizards are indeed difficult to manage survival at low levels, and if your player is looking to use his same character the whole adventure path (which I guess he wants) throw in some NPCs to complete his "party" this will solve your entire problem. Keep in mind that you have to always focus the attention to the given player since you don't want the player to feel the NPCs are the heroes not him. Let him be a Wizard, but as soon as you see him struggle be prepared with an NPC Cleric or Fighter to help him pull of. ![]()
![]() As a GM of the ROTRL campaign I have a small but important question. Which are the PCs rivals in town, this could be your own personal or legit from the actual storyline. I know there may be a rivalry with Ven Vinder and a Noble family (I can't remember their name, or the reason why they are the Pcs rivals) :P So if you have any comments or ideas I would appreciate if you could share. ![]()
![]() Wow, nice! I will take in account the part where Shayliss gets kidnapped, will give my player a bigger motivation to stop the Skinsaw. How did your party manage to turn Nulia to the light side again? In my game the PC already had bonds with Ameiko, Tsuto, Nulia, etc I explained that since he grew up in Sandpoint these where the friends he had, including Nulia. So I think he has a bonus on turning Nulia for redemption at the end of Burnt Offerings. Any suggestions? ![]()

My player has not yet decided to what he really targets Shayliss to be, but I'm thinking making her a Rouge or Sorcerer/Oracle wouldn't bother my player in any way. ![]()

The player has shown an interest in an NPC, so it's only natural to give them more screen time than the ones they aren't responding to. Nice! I will take that in account. The problem is, he seems pretty attached to both the wizard and the cleric (in the means he is looking forward to see them in action and role playing) :P But I'll talk about it with him! ![]()

The PC is a Human Fighter, the NPCs are Wizard Elf, Cleric Dwarf, Bard Human (Ameiko) and Ranger Elf (Shalelu) Sounds interesting for her to be an oracle or sorcerer, thanks for this advice. BTW: Its not Katerine who is a Rouge, Its the ingame PCs older sister. ![]()
![]() I am running Rise of the Runelords as a moderated one on one campaign. It's been running smoothly since the begging, me (Gm) and my player are really enjoying this adventure path. We have been through almost the middle of the first chapter. Almost in the part where the PC(s) investigate the Glassworks. The point is, my player has been really interested in the NPC Shayliss Vinder, even though he knows Ven did not approve their lust desires. My PC wants to compete his adventuring party with other NPCs (including Ameiko and Shalelu) but he wants for some reason for Shayliss (a commoner) to join his group. In game the PC has a sister (older) which is a rouge and my plan was for her to teach Shayliss to be a rouge. Do you think this is a good idea? What are your comments suggestions? ![]()
