![]() Personally, and I have no idea how other people feel, I'm just content to get us back "on track" with exploring/fighting in the Stolen Lands. I think, at least so far, that the king seems very evil and unlawful. So, it seems, that the PC's attention has turned towards defeating the evil king. I'm willing to shake my fist and say "grrr" to the king and move to help Oleg and go back to exploring the Stolen Lands. I think we would need a good reason to get back on track with the primary goal of kingdom making or whatever else the initial goal is (rather than focusing on the king), but I'm at least willing to hand wave some of it to make things work as needed for the AP. ![]()

I'm okay with tweaks to fit the group's personality and such, but I'm 100% okay with just heading through the thing as it is presented. I can't say I know a massive amount about it, but I think we all are good to go with the rough and tumble, tame the wilds, make a kingdom presentation. ![]()
![]() I'm a tad bit confused as to the current scene. Is our group being dismissed as the other groups are being ushered into the warehouse or is the public being dismissed as we are ushered into the warehouse? If we're being dismissed it definitely changes things...particularly my odds of encouraging people to cut and run =P ![]()
![]() Raktin will accompany Viktor to the church and grow visibly angry at the note on the door before turning away. Get what you need at the shop. I can forage for myself so don't worry about me. Flynn, if you don't have a horse, see about purchasing one if you are able...otherwise we can do our best to find a caravan, though I would not expect any to be allowed to leave now given the...situation. I'm going to go scout the warehouse to make sure there is not an ambush waiting for us. Raktin will then go get his horse and head towards the warehouse. He'll tie the horse up nearby, preferably in nearby woods if possible, and then sneak around trying to scout out the area and the warehouse without going inside. He'll do that until the scheduled meeting time. Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

![]() Raktin walks down and stops as he sees Viktor motion him over. Looks like we should make ourselves scarce if at all possible. I don't like avoiding guardsmen, but it was made fairly clear earlier that the troops of the Regent have a habit of drawing and quartering individuals without proof. Our time with the deceased may make us a convenient scapegoat if they are simply looking for someone to pin the blame for a political assassination on. He pauses. I've been traveling a long time and this many guards don't get here this fast unless they have powerful wizardry or they knew the deaths were coming. I'm guessing it was the latter. We can try to get the information from the shop, but it might already be a trap so we should be on guard. He then follows Viktor. ![]()
![]() Raktin chuckles a bit as Viktor speaks. He motions with his thumb towards the man after he finishes before speaking himself. He's got a good point. Telling me that the god that I have given my service to for quite some time frowns on me doesn't exactly make me want to jump at the chance to help you. I've got plenty of reason to head into the Stolen Lands and I'm all for it. And sure, if this soldier needs help enforcing the law, I'm happy to help out and put down a few bandits since it sounds like he has been failed thus far by the law as well. He shrugs. But I don't care one lick about fugitives from the Throne and I'm certainly not hauling anyone back to be executed before evidence is compiled. I'll kill bandits. I'll map something for you. But I'm not going to pretend it's because I'm enamored with you and the chance to do something for the Regent. You paid me something already so I figure the least I can do is go help out Oleg. Double that and I'll come back with your map complete with killing whatever random bandits get in the way. You want me to do even more and fight some undetermined manner of creature for you? Keep the price rising from there. ![]()
![]() I'm up for getting paid to retake my family's lands that the lords of Brevoy deemed it previously unnecessary to protect. Frankly I don't think you're going to find anyone with blue blood and undying loyalty to the nation that knows the terrain as well as I do and one thing I am loyal to is my word. So give me the details, tell me where to sign, and I'm on board for doing what should have been done years ago. Raktin keeps his arms crossed across his chest as he speaks. ![]()

Raktin nods and starts to reach for some paper as the duel is beginning. He pulls out a sheet and goes for his inkpen before the fighting starts and he stops even trying to find it. Watching someone get their weapons knocked to the ground is...less special than I expected. He says quietly. ![]()
![]() Raktin toasts and then turns towards Jacob, opening his mouth as if to speak before being interrupted by Dunkrint. He sighs as the man gives his speech and then shakes his head slightly. Hopefully this won't result in someone dying. That would make for an unpleasant start. Once Viktor has finished speaking he turns again to Jacob and speak softly, trying not to terribly interrupt the proceedings. Interesting compass, how long have you had it? Looks like you have quite a liking for it. ![]()
![]() Raktin has stopped in Restov to resupply and rest and turns from tying up his horse to greet the messenger. After reading the note he nods and smiles. "I'm assuming that if you need me someone that doesn't know how to pick their way through some territory they may have no business in needs a guide. I'll be there." He chuckles and carefully folds the letter before sticking it, and the coins, into his belt pouch. With that he heads off to find lodging until the meeting. ![]()
![]() Hey all, Posting with my Ranger. I think the sheet is complete and good to go. I'll fill out more of his background in a bit, but overall he feels a bit resentful towards the current ruling class of Brevoy and has a family title to a small plot of land in the Stolen Lands. Raktin sort of feels like his family's interests have otherwise been abandoned and is excited to now get the chance to strike a blow for his family name. |
