Appearance: aging strait-backed veteran, graying hair, exotic (roman-esque) equipment , glyph-covered weapons and armor.

At 42 years old, Quintis is the grizzled veteran. He's put in his time as a soldier in The City's army and retired to a comfortable life in the North Quarter, but he didn't stay retired for long. After years in and out of The City, warring with other city-states, fighting off all maner of monsters, Quintis found it hard to retire to life as a simple blacksmith. He is also the descendant of many generations of warriors who kept alive the traditions and culture of the Old Empire. Quintis is a master of storytelling and he knows the legends of the Old Empire and more modern men better than anyone. He desperately wishes that he had become an adventurer instead of a soldier. He thought being a soldier would get him the glory he craved, but he realized that becoming a great general or hero had more to do with birth than drive or skill. Adventurers though, they get by without the bureaucracy; adventuring is a profession where the great rise to the top (or so he tells himself, neatly forgetting that he used to feel the same way about being a soldier).

Quintis was raised in the tradition of the Old Empire. From the traditions of this people he's gathered a great number of legends and myths, and the subtle power of ancient glyphs carved onto his weapons and armor. Most of his comrades in the army thought it was some sort of silly superstition. Quintis himself doesn't know whether they "work" or not, but it's worked out for him and his forbears so far, and it's something he enjoys, so he sees no reason to stop preparing his weapons in this traditional fashion.

Quintis is motivated by the call of myth. He wants to become a legend, and he's worried he's missed his chance. From his years of training and experience he's a wonderful fighter, storyteller, and a great team player; he'll jump at the chance to get out and do more.
