"You can try whatever you want. I think I'll keep my sword handy just in case, though. The term 'face stealer' don't exactly inspire confidence."

Just got back and through my massive backlog of work. I'll post later today.

"Well, they'd be pretty cramped in this two armed suit..."

"What's 'increased activity' mean? I'm not gonna grow a second pair a arms or sumtin' am I?"

I think the room we're in could work, actually. Marshall will sleep on top of the trap door so its blocked and he wakes up if something tries to open it.

I'll be in St. Paul, MN for the rest of the week so my posting may be sporadic. Don't hold up the game on my account

"This is insane. This whole place is insane."

Marshall struggles with his suit to attempt to eat.

"Hang on a sec. Keth, can we breathe in here? Does this place like, make air or sumthin'?"

"Better prepared than not, I guess. We'll need to set a watch. I don't trust any of these rooms one bit any more."

"Was it a trap or is it a way through here?"

Marshall uses his magically illuminated sword to pierce the darkness of the hole.

Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

I don't think I've ever had such shameful perception rolls.

"Eh, just do it. We can't just stay here for the rest of our lives."

"I'll be damned. I can't believe that worked."

Marshall moves into the next room and looks around.

Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13

Marshall looks around the supposedly safe room suspiciously, as though the traps may have followed him.

Congrats on the new job, Donato!

Damn, what if that pressure plate opens the door? We need something to weight it down if it does.

Marshall smiles gratefully at Celia as his wounds disappear under the onslaught of positive energy.

"I guess the question is, does that pressure plate try to kill us again or does it open up another door out of here? Did anyone step on it when we came in?"

Marshall is a bloody mess when he finally manages to stand.

"Yeah, leaving. That's a thing. We need to do that."

"Awww, hell!"

Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

"I suppose that's what I get for only being half right. Let's get out of here before they do that again."

Once we identify an exit, Marshall will head in that direction, holding on to nearby statues in case the room turns again.

Once Booker gives the all clear, Marshall moves into the room.

"I will be pleasantly surprised if none of these statues come to life and try to murder us."

He raps one of the human ones on the forehead.

"Anyone in there?"

Marshall circles the room, patrolling for trouble.

Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

I'll bring the bad booze.

"Doubt whatever passes for food for a metal fella be good eatin' for us anyway. Let's keep lookin' for a way outta here."

I'm still here. Oddly, my campaign page has not been showing new posts in this game. I thought we'd been on hold since the end of May or early June. Stupid website.

Still here. Happy to be patient. I've had my own share of business.

"Um... Oooga Booga! Come and get me you big metal bastards!"

So shoot 'em. We'll ambush them when they come through."

Around but I had surgery today and I'm all hopped up on drugs...I might be limited until Monday or so.

"See anything?"

"Like for the whatchacallem thingies that built the place? Aren't they bunches a' gears an' such? What do they need places of rest for?"

"I ain't setting one foot on one of those. Not until we know what it does. C'mon, lets check the other halls. Maybe we'll find something that tells us what these do. Unless, Keth, you know what these things are?"

"No way to go that doesn't leave a ton of potential enemies at our back. So I suppose we're just about screwed equal no matter which way we go. Any one have a preference?"

Marshall peers down each hall looking for anything to recommend one choice from another. Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16

"One, two at the most. To be honest, I'm getting a bit fatalistic about this whole thing. We're a bazillion leagues from anything we know, and not by choice. We can't control anything. Do what seems right. Or fun. Or whatever."

"Alright, Book. Down we go.

Marshall leads the way down the stairs when the group is prepared.

"Any of you art critics want to look around here or can we take these stairs?"

Marshall looks down the staircase in case of danger.
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Marshall continues down the hallway and peeks into the next room.

Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13

"My my, Keth, that sure do be a coincidence. Maybe they got better at makin' skin suits and our mysterious kidnapper is one of 'em, too. Let's move on. History ain't gettin' us home any faster."

Marshall leaves the room and continues south down the hallway.

"Can't be real history. We'd have noticed a race of metal people hanging around."

I just realized we don't have a rogue. I'm going to find traps with my face!

"Maybe don't follow too close. If there's a trap down here we shouldn't all get caught in it."

Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14

Once everyone is down safely, Marshall takes the lead and cautiously peers around in the doorway.

Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
sneak: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

"Good point."

Since there seems to be no penalty for failure can I just take a 20 a retrieve both lengths of rope?

Marshall slides down the rest of the way heedlessly, seeing that there seems to be no real danger of a bad fall. "I guess we ought to leave the rope here so we can get out again. I'll hate to not have it if we need it for something, though."

If the lighting is poor, Marshall will cast light on his sword.

"I'm never going to get used to this place..."

Marshall finds the climb not terribly difficult and hooks his arm around a metal spar projecting from the wall. "Give me a second, folks." A quick hitch gets Entero's fine silk rope securely tied to Marshall's rougher hempen cord. "This'll at least get us closer. Maybe prevent a horrible death. Horrible maiming seems much better." Marshall continues down to the bottom.

Should have had Booker tie my 50' rope on the end of Entero's. Maybe we still can before disaster strikes

Second climb roll: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (17) - 2 = 15

"Huh. Look at that. I guess I'll give it a whirl next. If I die, can't none of you have my stuff. With that, Marshall braves the descent.

Climb: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (9) - 2 = 7

Booker, it might be useful for you to know that creatures with a climb speed can always take a 10 on climb checks

PFSRD wrote:
Climb Speed Ability A creature with a climb speed has a +8 racial bonus on all Climb checks. The creature must make a Climb check to climb any wall or slope with a DC higher than 0, but it can always choose to take 10, even if rushed or threatened while climbing. If a creature with a climb speed chooses an accelerated climb (see above), it moves at double its climb speed (or at its land speed, whichever is slower) and makes a single Climb check at a –5 penalty. Such a creature retains its Dexterity bonus to Armor Class (if any) while climbing, and opponents get no special bonus to their attacks against it. It cannot, however, use the run action while climbing.

Marshall casts light on his glove, causing it to glow with a warm light.

"Even if there was somewhere to tie on, I'm not sure all of us together have enough rope for this pit. Looks to be a couple hun'erd feet, at least. He could at least all tie up together. Then maybe if one of us falls, the rest can keep 'im up. Or we'll all die together and save us the trouble of mournin'."

Marshall approaches the edge of the circular opening. He looks for any method of getting down like a stair or ladder or worst case scenario, something he could tie his rope to. He'll also, of course, keep an eye out for anything of interest or out of the ordinary.

Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Marshall moves to help Celia off the ground. "That wasn't so bad. Even for you, little lady. If that's the worst these metal monsters have to throw at us we might just make it off this rock. Where to next?"

Do you mind when we post actions out of initiative order?

"Gahhhh! Why won't you die?" Marshall channels his arcane power into his short sword and swings again at the crab bot.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 181d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

[ooc]Arcane pool used to add +1 enhancement to sword for 1 minute. Also, I can't roll damage dice for sh*t. It is embarrassing.[/dice]

Cast defensively: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Marshall wreathes his left hand in crackling lightning and touches it to the golem even as he swings his sword in a vicious overhand chop.

Shocking Grasp vs Touch AC (+3 if metallic): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 221d6 ⇒ 2

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
