| Priestess Valexana Weis |
Here is Nimon's submission.
Even though she was well taken care of, maybe even pampered, Valexana could not wait to leave the life of nobility and courtly non-sense behind. At first joining the church of Sarenrae was a way to continue her mother's lineage and get out of the house, but soon she became deeply pious and understood the immense responsibility it was to be truely dedicated to religion.
Valexana loved children, especially infants. Her instructors found that she had a knack for assisiting in childbirth and trained her as a midwife. She became one of her churches youngest midwives, and took to her duties with pride.
The church could only shield her from her families schemes for so long. Eventually they would parade her at functions and it seemed to Valexana she was no longer as a daughter, but as a form of pious currency for her family to make false claim to. She saw her mother in new light, a women she once admired, she saw as flawed and superficial. Not a true believer in the faith.
News arrived that the town of Sandpoint had finished constructing a new Cathedral dedicated to all of the main religions in Varisa. She decided to capitalize on this as an opertunity to finally leave her home. Valexana pleded that she be allowed to accompany an envoy to Sandpoint to represent Sarenrae and offer her services as a midwife for the church to earn her keep. It took some convincing, but eventually she was allowed to go.
On the way to Sandpoint her envoy was waylaid by bandits and she barely survived the encounter. It was a harsh wake up call to the realities outside the comforts of Korvosa. She arrives in Sandpoint physically and mentally exhausted and seeks only the santuary of the church for now
