Appearance: Plutark Gallowstone is a Thanosian, standing 4'4" tall and nearly as wide, with stone gray skin, white hair kept in a mohawk and a long beard, with deep purple eyes. Plutark is wearing chain shirt armor with a simple wooden shield on his back and a impressive warhammer on his belt. Under his shield, the fighter keep all he owns in a backpack. Personality: Plutark, like most Thanosians, have a different outlook from those around him. Ever since he's come to live on the surface, this Thanosian has become slightly more sociable (mainly because his player loves RP). The only humor Plutark appreciates is dark humor. He'll likely laugh at a well-timed joke about a recently beheaded corpse, then the jolly escapades of Lord Hermes. In battle, Plutark is fearless, often screaming bloody murder at his opponents before he attacks. This is common among Thanosians to roar at his enemies before attacking, known as The Last Scream, seen as the last time to make a noise before Hades claims those who fall in battle. While not afraid of undead, the Thanosian treats any he encounters outside Thanosian settlements as the dangers they likely are. Plutark enjoys alcohol and women as many fighting men, though his abrasive nature often scares interested parties away. When it comes to Lord Hades, Plutark prays to The Lord of the Underworld when needs guidance or help, but otherwise leaves him alone. Why in Tartarus is a Thanosian on the surface?:
Several months ago, in the Thanosian settlement of Deep Gate, Plutark was just getting off his shift as guardsman for one the bottleneck points to The Underworld, when a known Thanosian woman and oracle named Profítis beckoned the strong Thanosian to her tent. Plutark thought he was going to get some action, but it turned out the oracle wanted to give the Thanosian warrior a spirit reading. She said she felt conpelled to offer one to Plutark as we almost walked by. Both Thanosians sat down in Profítis's tent as she lit candles and began the trance. After several minutes of silence, a strong overwhelming presence seemed to enter the tent, then speak through Profítis in a different but authoritative feminine voice. "Behold, mortals. For I am Queen Persephone", the voice began. "I have come to you thing night to bid Plutark of House Gallowstone to ascend to the surface world. There a greater destiny awaits, decreed by The Gods of Mount Olympus. You must go, Plutark. Your actions may yet save this world! GO! Go before it's too late!" Then the feeling of the presence left the tent, leaving both Thanosians confused and anxious.
Plutark left the tent and went home to the hovel he shared with his sister, and the spirits of his mother, father, and grandfather. The Thanosian fighter discussed what occurred in the tent with his living and dead relatives, had an uneventful meal then went to bed. Plutark's dreams were a jumble of images of a bright light, Hades, and the sounds of battle. Waking unsettled, Plutark gathered his meager belonging, said goodbye to his family, and left Deep Gate to start his long trek to the surface. Profítis waited to see Plutark off, wishing him well. Plutark cursed the sun every morning on the surface of the world. The Thanosian was a stranger in a horribly-overlit strange land, but Plutark made his way as a sellsword and adventurer, preferring night work. |
