Assuming you have the book, go for it!

I would take a look at the Character Options page and scroll down to/search for the Dark Archive section as not everything from the book is available.

Because he's wrong about how the rules work. It's not the first time and it won't be the last.

It's why he generally doesn't make rules statements.

The enfeebling power of the amulet seems to fade once you're at least 5 feet away from it, allowing only the carrier, "Hope" to have their strength sapped by its foul magic as the party advances.

With "Hope" in much better shape the party giving him some space the restart their trek back towards safety and the surface

Things are calm until they turn the final corner where Krozuk, Shanti and Blak Jak Sparrow notice a barely perceptible ghostly warrior overlapping a matching mosaic, her holy symbol dripping blood and pulsing with negative energy.

She seems to be guarding the exit.

This is a complex hazard (haunt). The good news is people searching made their perception checks so you can potentially "disable" it without triggering it.

Religion(trained) is the easiest skill to exorcise the spirit with. Occultism(trained) may be able to sever the connect from the relic to the spirit and thievery(trained) might be able to deface the mural in a helpful way.

We don't currently need to be in strict rounds, but making a break for the exit or critically failing a "disable" check will start the violence.

Could not find it in the thread. Magical crafting as a feat is allowed, per Archives of Nethys, and you get four magical crafting formulas free. How does this work for Society? Are they only items you can use? Can you sell the items? I don’t see any rules about that in the Guide. Unless I’m missing it, I used the search feature and all it references is the base crafting rules.

You could sell them... but there's no money to be made that way.

Society: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26

Sendoski makes 4.9gp for the week.

Society: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10

Dorianna is a studious and shy 16 year old. She's clearly bright but has left a sheltered life in the relatively quiet Otari. She's clearly unprepared for life in the big city, but she's bright and a quick learner and even a week spent with her she makes good progress.

There is a minor hiccup towards the end of the week when she has several nightmares, and ends up screaming and clutching a stuffed griffon she hasn’t touched in years. She can't describe the specifics of these nightmares beyond her fear and the appearance of a man shrouded in mismatched fabric who comforts her.

Sendoski's knowledge of the occult and ability to detect magic doesn't reveal and curses or other magics upon her and there doesn't seem to be anything else to it. She does start playing with several other stuffed animals as well "It's been a long time since I played with Super kitty, I think it helps calm me." and they seems to help, although the nightmares do continue, although not with the intensity of the first night.

---

It takes a full day of Sendoski and Morblint working together on each of the documents.

The stack of loose papers and scrolls contain a wealth of information about Gauntlight See Slide 21 for info dump. Note the Gauntlight Is specifically the lighthouse and shaft directly beneath it, not the entire dungeon.

---

The journal is written in Aklo and it about 500 years old...

It details the when in 4219 AR The Haruvex family wasejected from Absalom when their secret sacrifices were discovered. They fled to Andoran, where they live in poverty. Clearly this is particularly hard on 6-year-old Belcorra, the family’s youngest scion. She writes about her hatred of Abslaom and how her family call her Nhimbloth's Chosen one.

Over the next dozen years or so the rest of her family died off in poverty. She then wrote about visions from Nhimbaloth that led her to the Isle of Kortos where she plotted her revenge.

Far above a subterranean shrine to Nhimbaloth called the Empty Vault, in a lonely stretch of wooded coast a few dozen miles from Absalom, Belcorra erected a magical lighthouse and called it Gauntlight.

She dug deep beneath it to reach the shrine she had seen in her visions, and while she worked, she began to plan her revenge. She would draw subterranean monsters and violent beasts into her secret dungeons—which she called the Abomination Vaults—and use Gauntlight’s magic to send them into Absalom to wreak havoc.

She enacted the first part of her plan, expanding the Abomination Vaults and raising a defensible keep around the lighthouse. She leveraged family acquaintances to acquire powerful retainers and champions to lead her monstrous forces.

The last several pages of the journal document much of her work in building the Abomination Vaults, the last entry speaks of flaying some betrayer that was seeking heroes from Absalom.

While the journal doesn’t offer many specific details, it mentions construction of fleshwarping laboratories, arenas where she pitted enemies against monstrous champions for her amusement, prisons, torture chambers, links to the Darklands, and a great temple where “once the Empty Death herself brushed against this fragile world.”

Belcorra’s entries often speak of her minions in the abstract, as if bragging about how many have come to serve her in creating the complex, but she only ever mentions one by name: her “amusingly vain” apprentice, Volluk Azrinae.

One of the last entries describes how this apprentice arrived from “a community of upstart and meddlesome drow below” to serve Belcorra. The notes don’t provide any further information about this drow community.

Morblint is also quite helpful in researching the history of The Whispering Reeds as well as unlocking its uses.

A reasonable question, sometimes these things are hard to find answers for because the answers tend towards the specific.

Materials from Adventure Paths aren't generally legal in PFS without something specifically giving you access.

Generally either playing the Adventure Path (outside of PFS) or spending some Achievement points.

In this case the item exists on the chronicle sheet for #166: Despair on Danger Island so the way to get access is to play or GM that and then apply that sheet to the character you want.

He does manage to make a few salient points at least. "The study of magic has always been integral to my life but it wasn't until here that I learned how magic flowed through and interacted with everything. Before I merely dabbled in the arcane, using it as tools for my own purpose, but now I see how it's part of everything, not something we can control as we please, but a greater force that flows through everything that we can tap into and influence just as magic taps into and influences us."

Alex Speidel (OPC; he/him)—

Hi all! As I'm sure you're aware, we've had some issues with AcP and GM credit not being awarded properly lately. I am delighted to announce that these issues are 95% fixed at this time! Any future sessions reported should grant AcP and GM credit correctly, and any new OP IDs generated should include the 80 AcP starting grant for both Pathfinder and Starfinder Society. As for the 5%, well. There are some people who didn't get the 80 AcP for mysterious reasons and will need to be kicked manually, which I now have the power to do! If you or a player falls into this category, first try refreshing your points once more using the button on the GM/event coordinator tab. Assuming that doesn't work, please email orgplayreportingerrors@paizo.com with the affected OP ID and I will manually kick them into behaving. Some people have also had issues with sessions awarding erroneous PFS1 GM credit; this can be solved in the same manner. Please encourage anybody with issues to email in; the fix is literally two button clicks and I would hate for people to neglect emailing me just to avoid being a bother. I want to fix these problems, please let me! Thanks for your patience on this issue. I'll be working with tech going forward to ensure that issues like this don't go unresolved for weeks at a time. If you have any questions or other issues, don't hesitate to reach out at the above email!

You can also sense that Nhimbaloth's presence no longer haunts this shrine. The tool sshould be safe to remove and in fact Carman snatches up the sword rather quickly.

You've also realized that despite your previous assumptions this isn't in line with the lighthouse, that room must be to the south and may not exist on this level.

Players who play through Malevolence, as well as GMs who run the adventure, can apply the adventure’s Chronicle Sheet

There's no official definition of what "play through" means and I wouldn't deny a player a sheet because they missed 1 session out of 10 because of reasons.

I don't think planning to play 1/3 or less would count but following the partial credit scenario rule wouldn't be entirely bad. Generally most times I see Adventures like that scheduled over multiple slots, they come with a note requiring potential players to sign up for all parts.

That friend of yours, Yan, I think he mistreats the books so you have to promise me you'll keep it safe and of course come back and tell me of all the magical things that happen below."

THRESHOLDS OF TRUTH:

Zarmavdian’s spellbook, Thresholds of Truth, was once a straightforward treatise on arcane and occult lore containing several useful spells. It’s been so heavily annotated, however, that the original text is hard to read. It’s clear that Zarmavdian wanted to prevent eldritch creatures from manipulating innocent minds, but his spellbook is a treasure trove for those seeking dangerous or inscrutable lore.

Thresholds of Truth provides access to the Eldritch Researcher archetype and contains the following spells:

Cantrips: chill touch, dancing lights, daze, detect magic, electric arc, ghost sound, mage hand, light, prestidigitation, read aura, shield

1st Level: alarm, charm, color spray, mage armor, magic missile, true strike, unseen servant

2nd Level: comprehend language, dispel magic, false life, glitterdust, web

Season 3 scenarios with purchasable boons:

3-07
3-09
3-15
3-99

2 of those give items. That's 10% of season 3 scenarios.

Characters with access to a firearm also automatically are granted access to the firearm cleaning kit and basic ammunition for that weapon, if necessary (e.g. characters with access to a flintlock pistol also have access to firearm ammunition).

The ghost responds. "They lived!?! They won!?! I've seen nothing but visions of defeat here for so long... The Belcorra I sense below must be a ghost as well then. I'm not sure how to stop her but know that it must be done... I knowledge of this place is very clouded but I can see the way down past the barrier, the barrier powered by the souls of Belcorra's defeated enemies. But if the Roseguard succeeded then perhaps our symbols represent her defeat and would open the way. Yes... foul symbols to open the way... Please, make use of my gear it saddens me to see it rot here."

On the ancient skeletal corpse here is a set of infiltrator thieves’ tools, a dagger of venom, a sneaky key, and +1 studded leather armor.

Looking a bit more serious "I seem to be bound to this level, unable to venture far, although with those Eyes gone I think I could leave this room at least. I feel that two things could set me free. Please agree to take up the mantle of the Roseguard and commit to defeating Belcorra, and secondly there's some sort of hideous worm I see in my dreams. I presume it lurks nearby. I sense it must be defeated for me to be free."

With no luck from the party Otari reach out once more and snuffs out the wisp.

The ghost more fully manifests and introduces themselves "Heroes, I thought nobody would ever come! I've been tortured by those awful eyes for almost longer than I can remember. I am Otari Ilvashti, doomed here after Belcorra defeated us at Gauntlight. I barely survived when she collapsed the room. With rubble separating me from her, I ran from her awful tongue devils, finding a secret door down, I hid in a tub for a bit but her monsters still roamed that level. So I went deeper. After being severely wounded by an immense otyugh I found myself trapped here where I think I passed. Ever since then those awful Eyes have tormented, it never let up, for years! for decades! for centuries!?! I don't know..."

Ouch.

Neely pulls out an axe and crits twice dropping the gambler and ruining her dress.

From there you're able to fight your way free and make it back to Hlar’s boat, contract in hand. The old diver is upset at having to row you back out so soon after just arriving in town, but agrees that it’s probably best to leave after being involved in a brawl of that size.

She navigates the you back to the sandbar she originally picked you up
at, leaving you with some dried squid and a jar of fresh water.

A day later, another commissioned ship travels
by and offers to transport you to Absalom.

There, you present Stella Fane’s contract to Venture-Captain Ambrus Valsin, and that the way to Vidrian is open.

In gratitude for their service, Valsin presents each of you with an archaic wayfinder.

The dwarf does his best to suppress a chuckle "If I were better at keepin' my hand out instead of squawkin' I'd be drinking at The Watchtower over in Eastwind like a certain famous Captain."

A tall frilled Iruxi and full Hellknight Plate stares at the captain and each other passenger.

Rhizzuk does not imbibe from the keg but does still introduce themselves with a story.

"I am Rhizzuk. My life was ended and I found myself being mortared into Dis's wall. I do not know what Erecura saw in me that day, but she plucked me from that ignoble end and brought me back to Golarion. Thus I am known as the Risen Star."

Rhizzuk's blue frills stick through a slot on the back of his helmet and a large meteor hammer is attached to their side.

Doesn't Monster Hunter only give the attack bonus on a crit success?

Also, added my 3 glyphs down the line to Zabu, Berry and mysterious PC #5.
