Pindleton agrees that landing in the middle of the village might not be the best. At the bottom and walking up works for me. Also, assuming we arrive safely and unless we have another means of contacting the airship if necessary... After landing, Pindleton looks up... up... and up at the rocky cliff. He says to the captain, "Unfortunately, we will be too far for me to send a magical message, so if any of you see me floating out over the edge waving my arms wildly, that means please bring the airship up there, we need to leave. Plus, knowing our history, we would likely need to leave quickly." He starts to walk away and then stops and turns back, "Oh, and if it's an obvious illusion of me... that's still me signalling. Well, not me but an illusion of me, but I should be the one who created it... never mind, you know what I mean. Thank you." With a bow, he turns and hurries off, trying to avoid further confusing the situation.

"Some scouting will certainly be in order. Fire giants are going to be a fair bit more difficult to deal with than some teenagers. Maybe we should probably land a short distance away and then approach the yakfolk village first? Might be able to get some information before heading to Ironslag. We can always go back to airship if it would make the most sense to swoop in fast to get it. But I'd only want to do that after having a sneaky look first so we know what we are facing."

On the trip, Pindleton will hang out with the Crow's Nest watchers (with his boots, he has no real fear of falling from there), as well as pepper anyone willing to tolerate him with questions about the mechanical and magical functions of the airship. "Negotiation sounds like a good approach, but prep up because I doubt it's going to work out very well. But if we can avoid killing, I'm all for that!"

”If some of you can manage to remove the armor, when we have some free time, I can examine it to make sure it’s safe. There could always be possible issues with it being safe for giants but dangerous to others.” Pindleton says with a shrug. ”However, I’m not sure what this ship is that Harshnag is talking about. I was really hoping to avoid more boat travel. I really don’t like water.” Pindleton holds his stomach in memory of past voyages. With a sigh, he then walks out to see what Harshnag is talking about.

From what I hear, he's quite the foe of evil giants, so I think we can trust him... at least on this. Pindleton at least wants to take the Rod with us so that he can study it further and keep it out of giant hands. Pindleton steps up in front of the knight (and is quite happy to be on land again), and says, "Ah yes, good sir, I'm sure we can settle this peaceably. Oh, my goodness, how rude of me! I am Pindleton Montegue IV of the famed Pindleton explorers, pleased to make your acquaintance. You see we traveled from a distant land to lay a dear fallen dwarven friend of ours to rest when we came across the results of a giant attack! It was simply dreadful. And the adventures we have had since then, well, I could spend hours telling you them to help explain our current situation, unless, of course, this Oboth fellow is the proper person we should attempting to resolve this with. If not, and you, my good man, are the one we should explain our predicament to, then I would gladly explain, in great detail, just what has befallen us and led us here to your fine docks and we can avoid my companions getting testy and venting their well-earned frustrations with you." Pindleton gives a brief pause to see if the knight is willing to take the group to Oboth, and if not, takes a deep breath, and prepares his next long, rambling lecture. Maybe the bad cop/good cop (or bad cop/annoying cop) routine will work.

Pindleton aims his bow but is not confident in getting a clear shot through all of that armor. Seeing the others chipping away at him, Pindleton decides he might be better off helping them instead. Lowering his bow and letting the arrow he had ready fall away, he draws his shortsword. With a primal yell (which has only a limited amount of primal-ness coming from a nerdy halfling), he flies directly at the giant's face. Kicking and slashing at the giant's eyes and head, Pindleton flails about with little precision, but, hopefully a decent amount of distraction. "Pipsqueak, eh?! That won't be so funny when I scoop your eyes out of your big head, you... uh... big-headed... imbecile!" Will try using Help action - not sure if it's possible to still assist Molok or else will go to Sohar.

Pindleton tries to undo the belt of the shield on the side towards Molok, hoping it will come off, or at the very least become loose enough to be awkward. Then he nocks an arrow with a practiced grace, and fires at the giant, taking advantage of Molok's distraction. Shortbow attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Then cunning action to use his mage hand as a bonus action to either keep working at the first shield, or if it is already loose enough, then tries working on the second one. Hopefully, we can lower some of his defense or at least get him off balance. :)

"Well, certainly, sir. If that is the price of participation, I would be happy to. Two things, however, is there a particular oath to pledge, or just anything suitable? Secondly, can we be rid of those trolls? Unpredictable, stupid beasts. You can imagine how difficult it was for my family to acquire slaves as strong as these. It would be a great financial loss if one of these..." he shows as much disgust and disdain as possible, "troll things were to kill a servant of mine... well, yours, I mean." Also, any chance of any buckles on the fire giant, like shield straps or something that Pindleton's mage hand legerdemain could undo? Pindleton tries to covers his surprise and uses his winged boots to float into the air, adopting a haughty attitude with his increased altitude. His mind races as he tries to think what the previous Pindleton Montagues would have done. "Greetings, I am Pindleton Montague IV, of the famed Montague explorers. I'm sure you've heard of us. Although, not my personal area of expertise, my family has spent some time researching the Rods of Vonindod. Zalto's work is truly quite impressive. My grandfather was sure there was more to the Rods than just finding chunks of metal and it seems he was right! My research indicated that this area might be of significance, so I brought my... loyal servants here to see if we might be of service." He scrambles mentally to try to find something else to help piece things together and get this giant to trust them. Then it strikes him! Pindleton looks at the massive hand and he does his best to mask the blood draining from his face. "So, the Vonindod... these Titans of Death that can defeat even dragons..." he points to the massive hand and continues with genuine awe, "It is majestic. Is that an entire one down there or just an arm? If you have one in it's entirety these ridiculous trolls would take years to dig it out!" Which might not be a bad thing, Pindleton thinks. I'm still here and interested. But holidays definitely impacted my ability to keep up. Also, with this section, it does feel like there's not really a larger goal*, but each location has been interesting, so I'm fine with it. I don't mind "You show up at town X and there's Y to do. Besides, this is still progressing better than any other PbP's I have been in (and definitely better than the two I'm running! *ashamed face*) ;) * I also realize, I could do more as a player to set a goal rather than just following along where you lead.
