About Pherus

At age fourteen, Pherus and his soon-to-be friend Teymar entered the training process for becoming a guard. At first, the two were fierce rivals because they were under the impression that only one would become a guard but they were mistaken. Soon after this mistake was corrected, they became close friends. Two years later, they were made full guards. Pherus soon became a much more adept guard than his friend and quickly became an officer of the guard. However Teymar had one thing that Pherus always wanted; a betrothal to a girl named Laria. Pherus and Laria have been love for years, but unfortunately Laria’s family was poor and Pherus’ father was only a blacksmith while Teymar’s was a highly-paid politician. Soon after Pherus’ eighteenth birthday and shortly before he became captain of the guard, Pherus and Laria met in secret, confessed their love for each other, and slept together. Laria, feeling guilty, told Pherus that she was going to reveal what they had done. Sensing the end of a meaningful friendship, and quite possibility the creation of a powerful enemy, Pherus seized the first opportunity to leave his hometown and head for the city of Absalom. He immediately sought out employment with the Pathfinders and after three years of training, he was ready to become a full-fledged field agent.
