When Per'el's older brother left Soveryian it was a shame upon the military family of Troblevey. The one thing they could trace back past the gap was that their ancestors were all warriors of one sort or another, iconified by stone busts in the halls of the family home. This surety of place and purpose for an Elf lineage was a godsend among the reeling Elven houses, and the abandonment of it by Ishu Troblevey cut deeply.
The first century was the hardest for Per'el, with little contact from his brother beyond the occasional note. Ishu had traveled to Absalom Station and had taken up with a human woman. He joined the Starfinders. His human partner died. Per'el sent brief notes in return, hoping they didn't sound curt. He had joined the El City Guardians and was policing. He had shown promise in minor arcane ability and was entering training. He was promoted to the Ceremonial Guard.
For a time Per'el thought that he might visit his brother on Absalom Station once his term of service in the Guard concluded, but these daydreams were dashed when a black-wrapped cryostorage box was brought to the family home by another Elf bearing the glowing sigil of the Starfinders. Ishu Troblevey had died in a climactic engagement that had saved thousands of lives, the only remains his left hand and the Troblevey sigil ring he had worn through all of his years of exile.
It took another seven years before Per'el was released from his service in the Ceremonial Guard, and where once the position had been an honor it now chaffed at him. He stood, he marched, he watched. He did not fight, he hired mercenaries to fight abroad in the name of Soveryian. He trained without purpose. His requests to join ambassadorial missions were not approved.
When Per'el was released, his parents had known for years that their second son had developed the same wanderlust that their first had. Handing him the same sigil ring that Ishu had worn and a blade from the old armory of the house, the Troblevey family mourned his loss along with Per'el and named his younger sister the new heir of the family.
Donning a simple, stark grey mask to represent the strength of the Elven peoples, Per'el reached out and accepted the invitation of the Starfinder Duravor Kreel to come to Absalom Station.
