Background:
Born on a stormy night, after years of trying, with greatness foretold by a Harrow reading. I spent much of my youth, climbing on EVERYTHING, to get a better view of the stars. "Where's Orlin?" "Did you look up?" This is strange, given the accident that twisted his right leg, leaving him with a pronounced limp (Lame). Yet, heavensward he still looks. This proved to be a useful skill as a Lumberman, climbing trees, and spending nights outdoors, looking at the stars.
This heavens-gazing proved useful, as I deciphered what appeared to be a few words spelled out in the stars, and felt them resonate within. During my first year Lumbering, we were behind schedule bringing in wood for a big order, and we were exhausted. I spoke one of the words I had seen, and we were no longer tired. And the word was good. Two years ago, there was an accident where a heavy limb fell and broke one of my fellows legs, I spoke, and he was saved. My fellows find me strange, but respect my quiet competence, slow step, and unflagging endurance. Appearance:
Orlin is a tall vibrant young man, when standing straight (Which is always), he tops out at just under 6', with the gentle muscles of someone who has been physically active his entire life, and not overfed, with a emphasis on shoulder muscles of someone who routinely lifts his weight while climbing, and when still, stands with a long staff in his right hand, firmly planted and supporting much of his weight, taking it off his right leg. Those who look closely can see that the cloth around his right leg is folded, and stretched just a little oddly.
The odd gait, limp and staff, are typically disregarded on the first glance, as the usual look, is taken in by the stern features, and gently glittering eyes, as if one was looking at the night sky, beneath a deeply tanned, bald scalp. He normally dresses in shades of blue, and has a small hand carved, wooden butterfly symbol displayed upon his breast. Those who know, know that some 15 years ago, he took a terrible fall after climbing to see the stars, and had many breaks in the bones in his right leg, and while he was attended to quickly, and a healing was done, his right leg had many of the bones heal oddly, mostly in his knee, giving him a restricted range of motion, and heavy limp.
Class Abilities:
Heavens. Revelation: NO EFFECT UNTIL L2
Archetype - Spirit Guide:
Through her exploration of the universe's mysteries, a spirit guide opens connections to the spirit world and forms bonds with the entities that inhabit it. Class Skills: A spirit guide gains all Knowledge skills as class skills. This replaces the bonus class skills gained from the oracle's mystery.
At 3rd level, a spirit guide can form a temporary bond with a spirit, as the shaman's wandering spirit class feature. She must make this selection each day when she refreshes her spells. A spirit guide cannot bond with a spirit that is incompatible with her alignment, ethos, or mystery (GM's discretion). A spirit guide gains one hex of her choice from the list of hexes available from that spirit. She uses her oracle level as her shaman level and her Charisma score instead of Wisdom for the purpose of determining its effects. At 4th level, she adds the bonded spirit's spirit magic spells to her oracle spells known for that day, but only of spell levels she can cast. At 7th level, she gains the spirit ability of her current bonded spirit. At 15th level, she gains the greater spirit ability of her current bonded spirit. This ability replaces the revelations gained at 3rd, 7th, and 15th levels.
Curse:
Lame Source Advanced Player's Guide Effect One of your legs is permanently wounded, reducing your base land speed by 10 feet if your base speed is 30 feet or more. If your base speed is less than 30 feet, your speed is reduced by 5 feet. Your speed is never reduced due to encumbrance. At 5th level, you are immune to the fatigued condition (but not exhaustion). At 10th level, your speed is never reduced by armor. At 15th level, you are immune to the exhausted condition.
Feats:
Meta Word Mastery You are skilled at using meta words to enhance your wordcasting ability. Prerequisites: Ability to cast wordspells. Benefit: You can use meta words three additional times per day. In addition, select one additional meta word and add it to your spellbook, familiar, or list of words known. Fast Learner - I'm interpreting this as pick 2 FCB/level. Traits:
Ashwood Lumberjack You are the most promising lumberjack Ilsurian has seen in a long time. Your skill, stamina and endurance has gained a reputation with all the other lumberjacks. Your mother, unable to have children up to that point, got a harrow reading from All-Seeing Hajeck, in which she divined your birth and skill. She is very grateful, and every time the Umbra Carnival arrives to town your mother ask you to go see her, give her a present, and get a harrow reading. You get a bonus on Climb and Profession (Lumberjack). You gain the Endurance feat for free. Irrepressible
